Cars are not autonomous. Human beings are. People can climb in and out of cars, drive another car, come back and drive the first car again. The same person can drive a hundred different cars, and the same car can be driven by a hundred different people (not all at once, obviously). Are you sure that the soul to the body is like the driver to the car?

Evolution is a fact which is verifiable and has been verified day after day after day. We can see evolution of fast-breeding organisms literally as we watch, in a matter of weeks or months. For slower-breeding organisms, it takes longer, but we can see the evolution of foxes to be more like dogs in real time under artificial selection, we have seen the evolution of traits in plants and animals over a period of years or decades under natural selection. There is nothing esoteric or hidden about evolution, it is right there in front of your eyes, for those who will open their eyes and see.

But belief in god? We can't see god. There is no objective evidence for god. The Christian religion even rejects evidence, claiming that the foundation of their religion is faith. We don't need "faith" to see evolution, we just need to pay attention.

Ultimately, the evidence for god boils down to "but there has to be a god, otherwise what's the point?" and "but I don't want it to be over when I die". Wishful thinking.

Which god? People have invented, out of pure imagination, thousands of gods. As a Christian, you rightly reject all the others as made-up stories, just as believers of other religions reject your god as obviously made-up (and often just a cheap copy of stories stolen from older religions).

That's brave of you to go against centuries of religious and philosophical thought that says that the soul is incorporeal and doesn't interact with matter.

But since the brain is matter, if it interacts with the soul then the soul must be corporeal, and we should be able to isolate it, put it in a jar, weigh it, do experiments on it.

If the brain is a soul-body interface, we could make a soul-robot interface, put souls inside robots. Or a soul-teaspoon interface, and put a soul inside teaspoons.

Since the soul must be corporeal to interact with the matter of the brain, maybe your kidneys have souls too. Maybe worms have souls. Maybe stones have souls. Maybe every tiny dust particle has a soul. How do you know they don't?

If I may pivot for a second, I have always wondered since brain damage can produce fundamental personality changes.... how could there be a separate soul at all? If the very core of who you are can be altered at the wetware level what purpose would be the soul be then if not your essence.

There's a history of esoteric Christianity, influenced by the mystery religions. Descartes was into this and used symbolism to attract those in the know, many secret societies did this. The Rosicrucians led to the invisible college to the royal society which newton led. These scientists and mathematicians didn't really believe in Christ, just used him as symbolism. They intended to shape the world themselves and achieve apotheosis, becoming a god themselves. We see them doing it today, elites trying to rule the world and using symbolism in the media to communicate with each other.

I don't like the idea of secrets, or joining a group and raising in ranks to be told a secret truth at the top level. They don't really know any secrets. It'll be like in Scientology where if you get to the top they tell you the "truth" that the alien xenu is in charge. The truth about Jesus is so simple really. Nothing secret about it. Occult means hidden or secret. It's similar to obscurantism in academia. They make things complicated and difficult to understand just to keep their jobs and appear to be doing something, and it's a fun game for students to try to solve the puzzle.
