"Anonymous" got co-opted. Just like the Tea Party got co-opted. These things start out as legit movements, then they're infiltrated by people who want to control the narrative, and made in to something ridiculous and laughable, which further breaks the spirit of the rebellious people. Spearheading the opposition, a trick as old as time.
