Can he still feel pain or see in his state?

Looks like a female to me. Her optic nerve seems too damaged to function properly (hell, almost her whole head is ruined) and even if it wasn't she's probably unconscious from the shock (notice that the other eye is closed and inert), so it's very unlikely. I'm not an expert though.

I imagine he must feel incredible pain. Or nothing at all.
