I guessing they don't mix sulphur in their gas so a leak can be smelled?

Mercaptan is what they mix in

I always wondered how they mixed in the "sulphur". Turns out it is Mercaptan/Methanethiol, which is a gaseous suphur compound. Thanks for the knowloedge sharing!

Wiki: Methanethiol is an organosulfur compound with the chemical formula CH ₄S. It is a colorless gas with a distinctive putrid smell. It is a natural substance found in the blood and brain of humans and animals, as well as in plant tissues. It is disposed of through animal feces
