How far are they? They can't hear the initial blast launching the projectile?

The speed of the TOW missile averages about 300 meters per second. Speed of sound is roughly 340 meters per second. In that clip, they had roughly 4 seconds from launch to impact, which means they were about 1.2 km away.

The sound of the launch would take about 3.5 seconds to reach them from that distance, so basically, they have about half a second to react before impact, which is just long enough to turn your head around and realize you're fucked.
