Then they will just use USA VPNs and be right back at it in a few hours, and we will have blocked a lot of the global freedom of speech this site is intended for. So I don't see this as being a positive move in the long run, but I appreciate the idea.

Thank you for defending free speech.

Thank you. I wish it was 1997 again and we didn't have this insane AI botspam problem to deal with, it's really doing a number on text forums across the internet. It has created so many problems for people trying to communicate.

Cloudflare lets you do that?

u/magnora7 that sounds like a fantastic idea to me.

Here is a quick procedure on how to do it.

  1. login to cloudflare
  2. choose your domain
  3. On left side window click "Security"
  4. On the drop-down window under security click WAF
  5. Make a new rule to block some countries.

On my site I block China, Korea North, Ukraine, Russian Federation, Tor, Brazil, Singapore

There is a drop down list of countries that make it easy, once you figure out who to block.

I'm against blocking Tor, because I'm using it here.

I like tor, but it often gets stuck in endless.captcha or blocked by so many sites.

anti-censorship site: bans users from censorship prone area of the world. I get the point your trying to make but i think you are missing the real issue. Its the ratio of user content to bot content. Everywhere you go you will find bot content. Its so prominent here because of how little legit content is making bot content stand out more.

not really any way to fix this

singapore, india, phillipines do not speak english

Is this a joke?

You have no idea what languages are spoken in those countries, do you?

(No, don't open a new tab to Wikipedia, cheater)
