Shame is not a part of pride.

It is part of woke pride though.

Like the conservatives of the past, they love to use shame to enforce social control, which really clashes with all of the pride messaging TRAs imploy into their discourse.

It's because to them, 'Pride' is just another theme, an aesthetic, a brand, divorced from the origin of the word. It's an empty slogan dressed up as rainbows and buying shit they don't need. Just like the name 'Amazon' doesn't evoke the rain forest anymore in most peoples' minds, 'Tide' doesn't evoke the ocean and 'Starbucks' doesn't evoke 'Moby-Dick'. It's all empty, empty bullshit. Sorry for the ramble.

Yikes, that's so, so true. I suppose that was the original intention of those names. The idea that Amazon would invoke the rain forest is laughable.
