Yep, I've been getting Captchas for a while now, rather annoying. The thing that works for me is using TOR Browser and the archive.today onion: http://archiveiya74codqgiixo33q62qlrqtkgmcitqx5u2oeqnmn5bpcbiyd.onion/ still have to solve the Captcha but at least it's not an endless loop.

“They are claiming they are going to put a safe device on the market”

said Ryan Merkley, who leads the Physicians Committee’s research into animal-testing alternatives

“And we see his lie as a way to whitewash what happened in these exploratory studies.”

This May, the FDA gave the company approval for human trials.

This is the first time I encountered a CAPTCHA on archive.ph. Are you also seeing that? So archive.today would not show the content. But archive.org showed it.

science + politics = political science
JoseDowman 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun 8 months ago

t isn't just the subversion of science and its conversion into a platform for politically driven propaganda. It's also the destruction of scientific research as a way of improving our understanding of reality. The collapse in disruptive or impactful research over recent decades has coincided with a flood of marginal (and mostly wrong) papers, noise drowning out signal and reinforcing tired paradigms at the expense of advancement. Meanwhile technological advance has stalled out. For all that we pat ourselves on the back for how rapidly technology moves, everything we use today is merely a refinement of technologies developed decades ago. Moore's Law has done much to conceal the absence of anything genuinely novel.

How Did Remdesivir Obtain Approval for Kidney Disease? ⋆ Brownstone Institute

A death from kidney failure, is not a death from covid.
So statistically it helps not to die from covid.
That is modern medicine for you.

That is rather interesting since it has almost 100% chance of causing kidney failure within 2 weeks of use.

There's a ton of bad science regarding the effectiveness of masks that people cite claiming it's proof masks work and mandates were justified. Yet when you present them with good science that concludes that masks most likely have no effect, they claim it's not enough.

One of my favorite "bad science" studies on masks that often gets cited is this one from the CDC: https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/71/wr/mm7106e1.htm

They even have a nice graphic that shows you the percent increase in safety like it's an RPG and equipping a mask boosts your stats or something. The study itself is complete garbage which is also noted by the tiny barely legible text at the bottom of the image which states "Not statistically significant."

Academia is BROKEN! - Harvard Fake Data Scandal Explained
UncleWillard56 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun 10 months ago

This is because academia isn't about knowledge or truth anymore, it's about money. That's why these studies courses flourish. They're not Humanities and they're definitely not Social Science, they're this weird hybrid beholden to neither. It's just a bunch of "professors" with no real academic purpose, forming a circle jerk to "peer review" their crappy papers. That leads to publishing and then, the holy grail, getting their dumb ideas translated to academic and corporate DEI programs where the real money comes in.
