Chapter 1111: Tunnel Rats
Right after the siege of Nike 14. I think this book is a fictional depiction of war, and the horrors of war. It is very “light”. But it gets a point across. In this chapter, it was like hiding from bombings, and escaping bombings.
They escape to an underground tunnel system, it takes them to the middle of the desert. They manage to escape.
Chapter 10000: The Light at the End of the Tunnel
They get out of the tunnel and head towards the badlands. There a lot of trust issues and group dynamic in this portion. Who’s leading, how do they decide where to go. Death looming. It got kinda boring. Lol.
Chapter 10001: Lucifer Descending
I don’t specifically remember this chapter. Maybe a flash back? I’d have to have the book to recall, and I’m at work, sorry!
Chapter 10010: The Judas Goat
There is a constant unease with the idea that any of them could be a plant. Working for Cissus or whatever it’s name is. We learn the story of tagging goats and pumping them full of hormones, and then killing the goats they discover. Sort of weeding out whole groups by using things that look like them. It’s like using sluts to trick men.
The American bot ended up being a Judas.
Chapter 10011: Minerva
Don’t remember this chapter from title.
Chapter 10100: Madison
Madison is the person Britts original owner bought Britt for. It’s a great story. I really like how fucked up it is. It reminds me of real life, and having to make tough decisions.
Chapter 10101: While the Devil Waits Above
Chapter 10110: Into the Madlands
This was predictable. The incursion into the madlands, and everything that happened. The sea of rust, and the madlands are SO heavily foreshadowed, that we knew everything going into it.
I could have predicted everything that happened in this section of the book based on foreshadowing.
But that not to say this was not a good part of the book. It was just heavily predictable and standard. Still fun.
Chapter 10111: Legends, Bastards, All of Us
Chapter 11000: Smokers
They run into the madkind. Get taken. Predictable over all.
Chapter 11001: Interlude
Chapter 11010: Theater of Madness
Chapter 11011: Hell in the Madlands
Chapter 11100: Fragments, Both Corrupted and Lost
Chapter 11101: Back Where It All Began
Chapter 11110: Angel of Death
Chapter 11111: The Long Tick Down
Chapter 100000: Prologue
I’m just skipping to the end, lol.
This book was great. A lot of fun. It is very standard. Like, a b movie, that would be fun to go watch, probabaly won’t watch again. But I would recommend it to the reader.
Ending the story where they did, no prologue, it was bitter sweet.
Lots to the imagination. I prefer anti hero books these days. Like where everyone dies. It feels more real to me.
Prologue included, it made sense. The parts were there. Brit gets to live stream, and fight the good fight.
Overall I had a great time, and I hope all the book we read are like this. Nothing extra ordinary. Nothing outstanding. Just a fun book. Thought provoking with respect to AI, god, what it means to be human. But this diddnt reach the level of conversations we normally have on saidit.
I give this book a 6.5 out of 10. 6 being a book I would recommend and a good read.
