Do you know if they just wanna kill wypipo, which seems very in vogue these days, or does this affect everyone?
You say that but I bet it turns out the indigenous people are being disproportionally killed.
Just the same as trans child castrations in Canada.
They have more health problems and dead end lives so they will qualify more than whites.
I tried to look for a breakdown of race for Canada's "Medical Assistance in Dying" program but I couldn't find a breakdown by race. I did read their indigenous people have a suicide rate 3 times higher than the rest of population though.
We hand wring about our indigenous people, but we don't do much else. I don't know that they access the MAID thing though. A lot of them off themselves at home or OD on one thing or another.
Eugenics comes back into fashion
I don't think they ever stopped. Hospitals have been "helping people along" for longer than I been on this earth. All of my grandparents were sort of put down at different points. Paternal grandfather was given a big bottle of morphine and told to take as much as he wanted, paternal grandmother had her oxygen turned off and suffocated to death, maternal grandfather was doped up with fent after a broken hip which is dangerous shit even for an opiate till he died, and maternal grandmother went in for a fall and the family was told life saving measures were not worth it and she just died on schedule nice and tidy, which I find suspicious.
My friend Otter went to the hospital with stage 4 liver failure and she died on schedule too. But Penghy with no hospital took a year to die with stage 4 liver disease while drinking, and my other friend Dot stopped drinking and is doing great even at stage 4, just can't drink ever again.
I say eugenics because this is specifically taking sick and mad people out of the gene pool in a way that elderly end of life care isn't.
You're right of course, the elderly wouldn't be eugenics, just seems like getting rid of undesirables falls under the same umbrella. They're choosing who lives and dies based on their societal value.
