A hide/mute user option. An iPhone app.

Seems pretty good - how did you get the reddit source code?

Works good too.

Just needs more members, is all.

The old code is open source https://github.com/reddit-archive/reddit

That's great! This site works pretty good. Hope you got the server capacity to handle an influx of reddit refugees - I suspect there will be quite a few once the censorship of conservatives campaign kicks into high gear during the run-up to the next election.

I also suspect Trump will get re-elected.

Should be some fun!

Ability to use keyboard shortcuts. I miss ctrl-K to add a link.

The little + to expand images.

Reddit Enhancement Suite has a field to add a note about a user. That's useful to tag crazies and people who run around accusing everyone of being triggered.

IRC chat? Why? Anyone can set up his own chat. All that does is make the people in the chat really insular. They develop their own slang and way of viewing the site and start crapping on anyone who doesn't know (which obviously they don't because nobody but them is in chat). And then they start getting into slapfights with each other, which spills over to the comments. Moderator wars, and just no. Set up your own.

+1 for quick linking in a comment

Maybe a mascot, like a snoo with remarks to critical thinking?

Body is the pyramid of debate.

Divine_Lotus 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun 4 years ago

that was discussed in a saidit post a whole back. someone suggested Thot, Egypt. I'm thinking of drawing that

[deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun 4 years ago

That would be so cool, we could do a contest if magnora7 and d3rr accept to implement it.

A Markdown preview

magnora7 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun 4 years ago

For your comments? Reddit has "large mode" which has a side-by-side preview of the comment's formatting, maybe we could emulate that.

[deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun 4 years ago

Yeah. Comments, posts, everything that has Markdown input preferably. Also, isn't "large mode" a RES thing? Afaik there's no preview at all in Reddit without extensions.

magnora7 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun 4 years ago

Also, isn't "large mode" a RES thing?

Oh is it? Well that just makes it easier to port then because we have access to the code. I'll add it to our to do list.

We need a mobile app that's more flexible and with the ability to directly enter links in-app without needing to use an external app (i.e. Chrome, YouTube, etc.)

Voting buttons are stupid. "Karma" is stupid - I don't even know what it is? An idea stands or fails on it's own merit - not according to consensus of biased online nincompoops.

lil_peter 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun 4 years ago

No it's not, it ranks your merit based on voting. Only placed like reddit who manipulate shit so far it becomes ridiculous do people complain.

[deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun 4 years ago

We had a debate about this. Do yourself a favor and read instead of blabbering.

lil_peter 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun 4 years ago

Read my comment about how they should have 6 voting buttons.

lil_peter 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun 4 years ago

I think they should have 6 vote buttons. Just go all out with it.

RSS feeds for subs and multis

saltedfish 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun 4 years ago

the ability to unsub without entering a subforum similer to RES.

magnora7 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun 4 years ago

You can do this already by going to www.saidit.net/subs which lists them all out and has subscribe/unsubscribe buttons

saltedfish 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun 4 years ago

if you want to unsub from more than one subforum sure, not so when you just want to unsub from one.

this functionality

www.saidit.net/subs

thanks, didn't know that.

magnora7 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun 4 years ago

As it lists them all out, each has an sub/unsub button to the right on the /subs page, so you can do them individually from that page if you like. We have had some issues with adblockers erroneously blocking these buttons on occasion so maybe that's happening to you.

mikipika 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun 4 years ago

Very helpful, thank you! Just signed up and the method I have been using to unsub is not so straightforward. I click on the "my subs" dropdown menu at the top left. Then I click on a sub, and on that subs homepage I can hit the unsubscribe button. This allows me to check out that sub before making a choice to keep it or not. Don't want to miss out on a potentially great sub.

Multisaidits, like multireddits

[deleted] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun 4 years ago

We have those and it's talked about in the wiki https://saidit.net/user/d3rr/m/all_saidit_music

Awesome

SierraKiloBravo 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun 4 years ago

I would like a way for sub admins to see how many people have opted to sub to a sub. The current sub counts are skewed as people are automatically subbed to all subs on sign up and so don't accurately reflect the genuine sub count. With numbers in the thousands, I am fairly certain not all of them opted to follow (and the engagement / submissions would suggest the actual active subscribers is vastly smaller).

And the award for using the word "sub" the most times in a post goes to....
