A healthy nation should have solid ethical and religious values to follow. The stronger these values the more likely are people to work as a collective for the sake of the nation.

Political pluralism brings the danger of a lack of responsibility from people. Maybe a lot of Libertarians do want to help in their own way, but their methods can make them skip a lot of their ethical responsibilities...

The more I grow old the more I lean towards authoritarianism for this reason.
