If a government seeks to boast being a Democracy, it must not only treat its citizens like fully-grown responsible adults (and NOT like mentally challenged children), but it must then also work to implement their will.
That's at the very basis of Democratic government, which differs from other forms of government in that the citizenry (instead of some priesthood, 'aristocracy', 'elite', etc.) ultimately determines the path of a society.
And, indeed, if the EU did actually implement the will of European peoples, as it claims to, instead of that of transnational financial interests, Europe might arguably, in terms of the quality of life for most European citizens, be in much better shape right now.
Take, for example, the push for the mass immigration of non-Europeans into Europe, something seriously affecting Europeans societies (not for the better), something that actual Europeans didn't want, but something that was nonetheless pushed by their governments, who are working for whom exactly?
In any case, in Europe, heterodox/counter-narrative news sources (like RT) are being censored ... in Modern/Civilised Europe?! That's shocking. It should never have happened. And that it has should outrage us all.
Propaganda is everywhere, of course.
But the EU didn't ban (rightly so) US media outlets when they were gleefully cheerleading the USA into pointlessly mass-murdering the Iraqi people.
And (rightly so) nor is the EU banning the New York Times right now, over its 'soft'/hidden propaganda, which is more insidious, like 'product placement' in films, making the crude/obvious kind of propaganda seem almost sincere by comparison.
Finally, just remember this, that whenever censorship was used, it was ALWAYS to hide some truth, and NEVER (though always so claimed) to protect the truth.
