This is from a post I made the other day. Agree or disagree?
Nowadays, I'm neither liberal nor conservative and I don't think any truly intelligent person in the world is. Intelligence and open-mindedness means thinking for yourself and not joining a club with a bunch of rules that often contradict each other on both sides of the political aisle.
LIBERALS: Feminists, but can't define what a woman is. Believes in trans-genderism but not trans-race. "Tolerant and inclusive," but extremely bigoted towards straight white males. Makes up new terms every year, then gets mad when people don't accept them or change their vocabulary for shit they just invented. Believes in "Free Expression," but wants government overreach to force vaccines and extreme censorship ("hate speech") on those who don't believe their bullshit woke ideology. Generally self-righteous hypocritical assholes.
CONSERVATIVES: Christian and all about "Jesus," but hates Jews and fags and laughs at the thought of people "burning in Hell for all eternity." "Pro-life" but not a vegan, hates welfare, uses condoms, owns guns, and hunts for sport. Believes in "The Constitution and Liberty" but doesn't respect The Separation of Church and State, and wants government overreach to force unwanted parenthood on people clearly too incompetent and reckless to be capable parents and don't believe in their "six week old embryos are the same exact lifeform as a two year old child" religious bullshit. Generally self-righteous hypocritical assholes.
Most people are hypocrites; that defies the Left or Right. I'm not a misogynist or a homophobe; I'm a misanthrope and I think most geniuses throughout history also were.
EXAMPLE: Me, or someone like Tulsi Gabbard, can believe in the majority of things conservatives believe in without calling ourselves "conservatives" or right-leaning. But if we're pro-choice and don't hate gays and trans people (the ones not targeting children or trying to Cancel people, that is), we're not "right-leaning enough" to be accepted on the conservative side, even if we agree with 80-90% of their other issues.
EXAMPLE: JK Rowling is a very left-leaning third wave feminist and has even implied she dislikes all men. But if she says transwomen are not biological women and shouldn't be treated as such, she is immediately canceled and distanced from the Progressive left by fourth wave intersectional feminists and other Progressives, even if she agrees with every other issue they take a stand for.
Most of the time, you cannot deviate from the accepted narratives that are a part of the club. This is what I am talking about. You're not allowed to be open-minded or question the motives or narratives within your own "group." And without open-mindedness or criticism of your own "side," you cannot intellectually grow as a person. The whole point is to attack the other side and dehumanize them, while gaining as much power for your side as you can. Compromises or truces, are not available options.
But if I'm wrong about anything, please "educate" me. No seriously; discuss it and point out the holes in my logic.
Also, I'm not stating both sides are exactly the same; clearly the woke left are far worse. But the conservative right often does the same shit as the woke do, but then tries to make excuses for it because "reasons." That's why few people like to think for themselves; because doing so only holds you accountable for yourself and you don't get to hide behind the rules of "your people."
