Trump Force One just landed in Greenland with his son onboard as his emissary. Think about this - Greenland is the first place that's getting a visit from the Trump administration, even before he takes office. This isn't a troll move, as many of the old guard seem to be dismissing it. Far from, I think this is one of the most brilliant strategic moves toward America-focused actual world peace that I have seen in my lifetime. Indulge me as I explain:
Ukraine is lost. It's been lost from the beginning, but the neocons who run the Uniparty saw it as an opportunity to enrich themselves;
- First by getting enormous US government contracts for weapons;
- Next by grabbing follow-on US 'rebuilding' contracts once they won what they deluded themselves into believing would be a decisive victory;
- Finally by securing perpetual rights to Ukraine's natural resources, which would make UKR into a vassal state for the BlackRocks of this world before they moved on to run the same playbook on the next country in their crosshairs.
That's not happening now. Anyone with half a brain who doesn't swallow the CNN line can see that Ukraine is a sad shell of what it was. And Trump is pulling up the stakes on the war by cutting off funds as soon as he takes office. All that's left now is to send negotiators to allow for a peace deal that Russia will be willing to ratify. BlackRock will not be happy with the terms.
But out of this will come massive opportunity. He may get some mineral exploration contracts within UKR for a set amount of time, but UKR is going to be subject to Russia's rules for the foreseeable future.
Shifting focus to Europe, they've put themselves behind the eight ball. Despite NATO's war, Russia is still a top energy supplier to Europe. They are the #2 natural gas supplier and the #7 oil supplier. The US is #1 in both areas.
Now here's the kicker - After the Ukraine conflict is done, Europe is still going to be stuck with a strategic mess. If they increase the Russian gas supply, Russia is at a significant advantage to extract concessions in return for increased or maintained energy supply during their winters. The price of Russian gas will go up once the conflict is over.
But the US currently has the top contracts, especially for gas supplies to Europe in the form of Liquified Natural Gas. The US has massive reserves, but it can always have more. And if it can transport it more efficiently, it can compete well with Russia in maintaining its status as the #1 supplier to Europe, while also giving Europe a strategically preferable partner given how they've damaged their relationship with Russia.
Greenland is estimated to have 148 trillion cubic feet of natural gas off its coastline alone. If those reserves can come online and converted to LNG, the US gains a new energy source that doesn't need to be taken by force at a cost of Trillions. Even if Greenland doesn't secede and become part of the US, Trump can easily negotiate very good terms with a semi-independent government that's largely ignored by Denmark. This is why Trump Jr is there and not in Copenhagen.
Also, Greenland is not in a strategically easy area of the world to be disrupted by military incursion. All they need is a better deal from somebody, somewhere, and they'll play ball for a lot less money than the failed Ukraine project has cost. And if an LNG plant is established in Greenland, the shipping distance to Europe is going to be around 8 days, vs 26 days from the biggest LNG plant in the US. This means you can do 1.5 round trips to Greenland in the time it takes a ship to get to Europe from Texas.
To give an easier measurement:
- The total number of estimated energy units (oil + natural gas) available from Ukraine sits at the equivalent of 41.09 trillion cubic feet (Tcf) of natural gas equivalent.
- The total number of estimated energy units (oil + natural gas) available from Greenland sits at the equivalent of 249.5 trillion cubic feet (Tcf) of natural gas equivalent.
So, 6 times the benefit in return for for royalties, subsidies, and security guarantees that I'm betting are a whole lot less than the $175 billion (and probably a lot more once the books are unsealed) that the US spent so far on prosecuting the Ukraine conflict. Not to mention the additional maybe $12.45 billion it gave to NATO, which he might pull the US out of.
And keep in mind, the oil and gas estimate for Greenland doesn't include the potential for reserves that are under the ice sheet. This could be exploited by new drilling technology, and might be many times what the current estimates are.
So, in summary:
- A huge market opportunity;
- A very Cheap relationship to secure a massive energy reserve with a friendly country;
- A way to contain or curtail Russia's strategic advantage;
- A way to unhook the US militarily from the EU, while maintaining them as a favoured customer;
- A way to starve the neocons / BlackRocks of their influence over global warmongering.
If I'm right, Trump will be remembered as the greatest peace maker of our generation.
