According to the new study, plate tectonics are crucial for developing complex life and advanced civilizations.

Advanced civilizations must indeed be exceedingly rare.

Dinosaurs lived for a VERY long time.
They thus had plenty of time to evolve into many incredibly varied forms.
And yet no intelligent dinosaurs ever emerged.

The emergence of an advanced intelligent/scientific/technological civilization only essentially occurred once on our planet, with us.

And it was a fluke. An advanced civilization almost didn't arise at all, even from humans.
When Europeans explored the world not that long ago, some peoples still lived in the literal Stone Age.
There are still a few humans living in the Stone Age today, living essentially not unlike other great apes.

Now, plate tectonics are not what cause advanced civilizations to arise, nor is the argument that they 'crucial' for advanced civilizations at all convincing.

The conclusion that we are the only advanced civilization in our galaxy is reasonable.

Not so for this geological(?!) explanation as to why that is.

You know if something keeps me up at night it's probably like: bills, politics, war, disease, etc. You know, real stuff. Real problems. But you do you.

Trumps falony charges and impeachments are indeed evidence of the necessity to hold him accountable for his crimes. There is no alternative interpretation. The way his council are dealing with this is to claim the President should be able to commit those crimes, and that this is somehow in the Constitution, hence they're not crimes if the President did them. That's nuts.
