Bisexuals have the highest rate of mental illness among LGB, by a lot, and I think it's even nearing trans, at least anecdotally speaking (even w/ hormones and surgeries, the suicide rate for trans is still 20x the national average, according to at least one study done in one of the Nordic countries. It also found high rates of de-transition-- it was a longitudinal study). I'm starting to think with bi and trans, it's not just a correlation when it comes to mental unwellness. I never would have thought this in my younger years when I was a little more green, but with more life experiences and wisdom and literally seeing so much...stuff....I'm starting to think they're both two effects (this crazy rollercoaster bi expression and a mental illness) that stem from the same core causal mental problem. Just my opinion. Regardless, these people are truly hurtful to gay people, but we're tough, we can withstand their issues and live our best lives in spite of them.

Fifteen or so years down the road I'm really rooting for Ellen to come forward and say how brainwashed she was and how homophobic trans people and the queers that support them really are. I've got a good intuition, I can see some sort of de-transition documentary or something someday. Poor girl, she needs something like that, her career is over anyway. She's in my prayers (as are a lot of people, even if I'm not even tangentially related to their life lol). I hope she gets better, honestly.

Eh, it was reddit...and while no place on the internet is truly pleasant, reddit was...a rather odd place. Not saying saidit isn't, but at least other subs here are very open if they hate women/support pedos, etc. Reddit was kinda the twilight zone with so many doofus liberals with the "we love ery1 we need 2 censerrrr!" but so much disgusting, public content simultaneously...

As for TrueLesbians specifically, it just had a bigger population...but was filled with a ton of sad, lonely lesbians like here, but now the population of users is just lesser here. I'm in the process of trying to move away from the internet for support in general. Not all gay women I've met in real life are as sad as portrayed on the internet honestly, and happiness is the goal for me now. So minimizing visits to internet places like this except for an occasional comment or perusal is what I'm trying to practice. It's all about mindset, and the internet does not provide a terribly good one.

A lesson I learned and you will too: never let the sick convince you you are ill. The sick are the sick, and those of health need not feel intimidated by the madness of the sick. This woman is mad and of the sickness, and you are not, love. Now go out and live a great life. Shame on this sickness for making you feel anything less than the health that you are. Good luck to you.

I think this may be the greatest time, for everyone really, to learn how to be alone. To learn that one's own company is not lesser than that of another, particularly if that other company does not add anything positive, and perhaps even subtracts, from one's life. Being confident in being alone and owning who you are, I can honestly tell you, is what will end up scoring you a woman you truly deserve. As the Buddha said, the one most worthy of your compassion is you :)

If there’s anything I’ve heard happy couples say more than once it’s “it was easy”

Also, though I did say “sick of being played” lol, I did mean for this to be more of a fun disclosure thread to help bring a dead forum back to life. I am not in any mental crisis at all, but I appreciate you being a concerned internet stranger.

While I think the trans stuff has lowered the lesbian happiness level severely indeed, I think it's also mixed with the fact that, regardless, it always was and still is very hard to be a lesbian, mixed with it's the internet and people who are online all the time tend to be online all the time because...they've got the time..read into that what you will 😆 . A lot of extreme personalities are the ones who use the internet the most often, or so I find, so you're apt to find the "really really sad" and "everything's fantastic!" and generally very unstable personalities online, and I'm not talking about lesbians only at this point. But I know, in terms of lesbianism, that I have had a very rough go at it being gay, and I am young and from a relatively liberal background and was a teen just before trans was a thing, so the archetype of the lonely lesbian I find is not trans-dependent in the real world. Regardless of the current cult, lesbians are at the cross-roads of misogyny and homophobia, and the fact that life is tough regardless of who you are anyway, and then married to the fact that we've got like the smallest dating pool besides trans and the...highly unlikeable people out there.... add it all together, and I find life in this domain (minority sexual orientation) to not be particularly easy. I don't judge the number of lonely lesbians here and elsewhere, because I get it. It's good to have a place to let it out and to be real and not in denial about how life really is sometimes, and occasionally I find the internet to be a good, albeit temporary option.

Ehh, not so much for me personally. I mean it was never "you're like a dude", but if it was anything it was more like "you're not girly enough because xyz". And usually though, this was because the person suspected I was gay and was bullying me. I am femme, and most think I'm the "typical girl". Not super girly, but like your average hetero female lol. I think what people have noticed about me is I have a maturity and confidence straight and bisexual women my age and even far older don't possess--and this has gotten me tagged as a lesbian once or twice.

I am insecure when it comes to confrontation. Sometimes you do need to confront others, and I loathe it so much that I will avoid it until I can’t anymore. Confronting others about their wrongdoings literally gives me dizzy spells and a rapid heart beat. I think I am insecure about it because I dread the potentiality of coming off as mean/rude, or so nice that my point will not be fully acknowledged/understood.

No way. I deserve so much better. But the thing is, I don’t trust anyone these days when they say they’re really a lesbian. Even if they are truly homosexual, woke culture has been so corrosive to the young lesbian mind that half of them will end up as hairy wastes anyway or sleeping with dudes to be “open” even if they hate it. I’m 26 years old and from NYC and have never met a confident, out lesbian who wasn’t butch, and preferring femmes myself, I’ve accepted I’ll die alone and right now I’m ok with that and it’s way better than being with someone who’s been jizzed on all over repeatedly and liked it 🤢

In terms of the drama and the epicness and the laser focus on the struggles of admitting to wanting to be with someone of the same sex...Carol, definitely. I find both Carol and Brokeback Mountain to be movies that portray the restrictions society places on homosexuality very well--of course, in each of their own respective historical contexts. But truthfully, being gay has always been very hard, so the setting, IMO, doesn't really matter in this type of portrayal.

40 vs 25 percent suicide stat. Given it’s HRC and the top result on google, given more digging I’m sure you could find even worse, less biased stats.

Edit: For the sake of a hypothetical, lets say this is “the” stat, the only one, the correct one—IMO, the 15% margin are the rollercoaster bis. The rest is from social discrimination, which for bis is really just a different kind of homophobia :)

Sorry to reedit this a hundred times lol, but just look at the stupidity of the HRC in saying the mislabeling is coming from the others—we all know it is they who mislabel themselves.

I will use lesbian if around non-wokes, but if someone gives me a hard time, I say I am a person solely and exclusively attracted to people expressing only (outwardly) typically female primary and secondary sex characteristics. This means not only am I not sexually aroused by males, but also not by women with abnormally deep voices and beards, or women with peens or non-lubricating holes. And if someone says that's not ok, I take the word lesbian out of it and say, you know, you just told me that having bodily autonomy is not ok. You're saying I should have sex with someone who goes against what my sexual orientation allows for, whatever you may choose to call my above orientation. Unless you are arguing, that for all people, sexual orientation is not real--then I'd have to point you towards some basic science education. But if it's not that, then you're no better than a pro-lifer--why do you care so much what I do with my body? This shuts up all queers, and even if the IQ is quite low, it at least makes them pause because they don't understand big words. Then I give them the evil eye and go about my day, enjoying my life as a productive member of society.

I hate to be a downer but I don't watch McKinnon anymore after she criticized JK Rowling on SNL for her warranted opinions on the radicalized trans movement and took the side of the trans cult. And she plays men so well...could be the next Elliot, ladies. And Aidy Bryant plays men well too, I know...but since she's straight, she's protected. Unfortunately, McKinnon, being homosexual and likely also drinking queer Koolaid given her past remarks, is not as immune. Just calling it like I see it but yeah...I lost all respect and it's never coming back for her, sadly.

In case you missed it: https://www.insider.com/kate-mckinnon-jk-rowling-harry-potter-books-psychic-snl-video-2020-10

I doubt she's actually a lesbian after watching that, or she doesn't have enough of a heart to care about young lesbian women, and values her career and her young, narcissistic "woke" audience far more. She is somehow able to live with the cognitive dissonance of being "woke", and yet, concurrently and homophobically, fast asleep.

And while some were definitely men or mtf probably, I know a good handful weren't. It shocked me how many women didn't want any kind of emotional "friendship" type bond first...they wanted to figure that out after we had taken our clothes off 😂 Yeah..not for me.

Good point! I think, maybe for all us semi-young ones, she was the first and sadly only youngish lesbian to come out and we could relate to her. And I think, those of us who've been following her and have been watching her stuff since we were tweens/teens...it's a "takes one to know one" kind of situation. I know I'm a lesbian, and I know she is too, I've seen enough of her and I just know. I've also called out people before as being trans (before it happened) in my life who IDed as gay/bi at the time and later came out of trans instead, so I have a track record of a good gaydar and a good "You're-not-so-gaydar" lmao. Mix that in with some nostalgia and knowing firsthand how hypnotic the trans movement and any cult can be...and you're left with a big heap of hope.

Anyway, I really do like to cook, but I never have time; however, something that has literally sustained me for months as a person who really doesn't eat meat and needs nutritious food quickly, is a literal bowl of quick-cooking whole grain rice, heaps of spinach and/or baby kale, and hard-boiled eggs. And weirdly, it has sustained me, because I add lots and lots of seasoning. Garlic powder, onion powder, chili flakes and powder, lots of EVOO and sriracha (I'm addicted to sriracha I think), Himalayan salt, etc. And oddly, when I eat this regularly, my skin looks great and I have a lot more energy, so go figure. And it takes literally five minutes. When I do have time to cook I love to make some nice golden-brown sweet potato fries in the oven glazed with honey. Yum.

Edit: Also wanted to agree with everyone else that the ones who said “didn’t need a doc” are true lez, and also Amandita. I think everyone else is bi, including the “straight” girl.

Amandita was the only one who wasn’t peddling queer bull, so I knew she was for real. And she’s the hottest one, so that was good 😂

I think half of those girls are bi anyway...except Amandita. You go girl, knowing who you are and killing it.

Laughed out loud when one was like “and then they had to deal with the fact that I wasn’t a girl” 🤦‍♀️. I think she’ll probably be “pan ace” or something in a few years...

The one who was the str8 seemed super dykey to me and I think she’s a closeted something or other honestly.

I am sorry for your experience and it’s so true—if you can get away for good then do it. There’s no reasoning with narcissists.

I'm a Scorpio but have a saggy ascendant, maybe we could get along ;)

I am intense about love, definitely. But I like to think I'm more of a healed Scorpio. I don't want to possess now, I want now to merge instead.

I can relate. They seem to be all across the board when it comes to us.

Just sharing some thoughts. Can anyone relate? by notsuper8 in Lesbians

Hey, np. It is deep to think about. And in the beginning, admitting that you're alone can be tough. But I've found acceptance is key. And then getting stuff done while alone and showing yourself that hey, you can do great things by yourself :)

Hey there, I'll send you my recipe ;). And thanks a lot!

Stress is a killer for weight gain and I can so relate. I am so sorry for the loss of your dad. I can't imagine. And all of your other recent struggles as well. I am surprised it was only 25 pounds! It would have surely been a lot more for me! Hang in there <3. And meal prepping = such a life-saver :)
