The medical profession is the core of the problem. If doctors and therapists didn't prescribe the meds and do the surgery, they wouldn't happen.

Twenty years ago, the medical profession acted as gate-keeper to transsexuals. If you wanted a sex change, you had to go through a long process of proving that

you genuinely were gender dysphoric
no other treatments helped
you weren't doing it just for a fetish
and you understood the side-effects and consequences and could give genuine informed consent.

So only two kinds of people got sex reassignment: genuinely dysphoric people for whom no other treatment worked, and a very small number of really dedicated autogyns capable of fooling the medical profession over many years.

And then two things happened that fucked the system up:

the invention of "gender affirming care" by the "Be Kind" woke in the medical profession;
and the rest of the medical profession realised that there was Big Buck$ to be made from "transgender" people, and fuck their patients.

Without these two groups, we'd still be talking about a tiny handful of transsexuals who were grateful to be just left alone with people into that sort of thing, instead of confused kids being medically mutilated, homophobic parents pushing their kids to transition for the Likes, and misogynist perverts demanding to be treated as women and insisting that lesbians suck their girl dick.

In this particular case, I actually think this is the right decision. Nobody was injured in the attack and Brandon McGlone is a veteran who has honorable served his country for many years. That's not a Get Out Of Jail Free card but he deserves some compassion and a second chance.

He is suffering from mental illness exacerbated by drug abuse. He did some bad things that could have gone much worse, but they didn't.

Putting him in jail won't fix any of his problems, it will just make sure that the rest of his life is fucked up and turn him into a genuinely dangerous felon. Sure, we'll all get that rush of righteous pleasure about "punishing a criminal" which will last less than a minute before we've forgotten all about it.

Brandon McGlone has a family which gives him a huge incentive to get clean and stay on the straight and narrow.

There are no guarantees in criminal justice but in this case I think the punishment fits the crime, and McGlone can be rehabilitated.

I'm always suspicious when somebody is claimed to have downloaded child porn. Nine times out of ten, the cops look at the accused's porn folder. They find fifty thousand images. Three of them are somewhat questionable images where it is not immediately obvious that the person is over-18. Cops go to the media and say "Person X downloaded 50,000 of the worst most hard core child porn images!" and the media laps it up.

Then, 18 months of hell later, with the person's reputation destroyed, their personal life in tatters, their job gone, and owing tens of thousands to their lawyers, it comes to trial. The judge looks at the actual evidence, sees how weak it is, and says "Don't do it again" and releases the person on a bond and with a permanent sex offender record.

Amnesty International wrote a report that found that Ukraine was in violation of the rules of war by placing active combat troops and artillery in civilian buildings such as hospitals, nursing homes, cinemas and shopping centres. Of course Ukraine protested that by reporting the truth, Amnesty was doing Russia's work for them. Nevertheless, the report is still true: we have photos and video of Ukrainian military hiding in civilian buildings. If Ukraine, NATO or the US had video of Russian troops doing the same, you can bet it would be all over the news and internet.

Hennepin County's chief medical examiner, pathologist Andrew Baker, performed an autopsy and found that Floyd's heart stopped due to cardiopulmonary arrest from the restraint and neck compression.

(Chauvin put his weight on Floyd's neck and Kueng put his weight on his back. But you already know that.)

A second autopsy, performed by pathologists Michael Baden and Allecia Wilson, found that Floyd's death was caused by asphyxia due to neck and back compression.

The Office of the Armed Forces Medical Examiner reviewed the autopsies and agreed with them.

Pierre Kory, acting as an expert witness, reviewed the autopsy results, all videos and medical evidence, and concluded that Floyd suffered cardiac arrest due to prolonged hypoventilation (being unable to inhale sufficient oxygen, or exhale enough carbon dioxide), which lead him to lose consciousness and then suffer cardiac arrest.

All these conclusions are compatible with each other -- the differences are exceedingly minor.

Even Chauvin's expert witness, David Fowler, a hired gun who will say anything for a fee, waffled by saying the cause of death was "undetermined" and "may" have been caused by carbon monoxide in the police car, a feeble excuse with literally no evidence for it. He essentially just made up shit in the hope that he might confuse the jury into thinking there was reasonable doubt.

No credible medical examiner or pathologist has said it was a drug overdose. We have Floyd's death on video and it is nothing like an opioid drug overdose. In an opioid overdose, the victim peacefully and silently goes to sleep and stops breathing, they don't cry for help or state that they can't breathe.

Even wokies dumb enough to think that a man with a penis wearing lipstick and a dress is really a woman aren't dumb enough to believe that Floyd, who was distressed and alert and struggling to breathe, died of an opioid overdose.

Floyd didn't swallow any fentanyl during the arrest.

The police report didn't say he did, and there is no reason to think he may have. But even if he did fentanyl is absorbed slowly through the digestive system, it would have taken hours for the level of opioids in his blood to effect him.

Chauvin is applying zero pressure on Saint Floyd's back.

As you know full well, Chauvin had his weight on Floyd's neck. It was Officer Kueng who was putting his weight on Floyd's back.

If you actually watch the video (and not just pretend to have watched it) you will see that at times both of Chauvin's feet are off the ground (you can see shadow under them) and he is applying his entire body weight onto Floyd's neck.

About eight years ago I knew one guy with actual gender-dysphoria, he was a sensitive guy in his early 20s who was genuinely confused about who and what he was, and presented as a goth chick. I hope he finds peace for himself, regardless of whether he accepts he's a gay guy or a transsexual.

But all the rest of the trans people I've met, and there have been quite a few, are 100% living their fetish.

I used to get on fine with those men cosplaying as women so long as we all understood that they were guys who wanted to cosplay as women because it got them off. Yeah whatever dude, your kink is not my kink but so long as we all understand it's consensual and make-believe I'll go along with it for a laugh or out of politeness.

Then they started insisting that not only were they actual women, but they had always been actual women, and not only does everyone have to go along with that fantasy 24/7 but that gives them the right to barge into women's spaces like rape shelters, to have access to female prisons, to bully women and abuse them because "I'm the real victim here".

Fuck that.

Straight males cosplaying as women have all the privileges of being a man in a man's world, and now they're trying to grab the privileges of being a woman too -- and use that to erase women from the law.

Women have been fighting this war for a decade. Its long past time for the good men to stand up with them.

Right-o, time to explain the joke for the humour-impaired.

The joke rests of the conflict between two principles of the modern social justice movement:

That corporations and employers ought to ensure that they do not discriminate against women in hiring, and (particularly in white-collar work) any deviation from a 50:50 ratio of men to women is likely to be treated as evidence for discrimination due to sexism.
- the corollary of that is that if two equally qualified candidates apply for one position, and one is a man and the other a woman, employers may sometimes give preference to the woman candidate in order to bring that sex ratio closer to even.
And the principle that we should not "assume gender" and that just because somebody presents as a man (or woman) that does not mean that they really are a man (or woman), the pronouns they use may not reflect their "real sex", and that many non-binary or trans people have not "come out" and it may be triggering to require them to.

Women do have a higher risk of random violence than men. As a guy, the odds of somebody dragging me into the bushes and raping me is pretty negligible.

But men have a much higher risk of non-random violence especially those associated with other criminal activities.
