Reading this made my blood boil AND also allowed me to cackle like a lunatic. What utter tosh!

Quote from the article: "On these sites and others, they use many of the same trolling tactics as other internet-based fringe political movements to disrupt conversation, skew reality, and make the internet another dangerous place for trans women through doxing and harassment."

(First off lady, doxxing is more known to be spelled with two X's but I guess writing that down would make you a transphobe, huh? Because of the XX... Because women you know...? Eh? No? Ok I'll quit this dumb joke right here.)

Anyway WHAT in the ever-loving FUDGE PUDDLE did I just read? It's radfems/GC's doxxing and bullying and skewing reality? Harassing people online? Outing people? Cancelling the wrong-think? Uh-uh. Sure it is.

Who is this wokester. Her "accusations" sound like somebody threw an incel in a wash machine, tossed some acid in for a good measure and tumbled for 8h straight. I wish I had never read this hot pile of garbage. SMH

Nothing is lost. It's a defeat but the fight is not lost, damn it! Now the real fight BEGINS. Do not lose heart. Do not lose faith.

I hope people start to get together and really try their best to do the "lobbying" (ugh, hate the word and the concept but in this case I will let it fly...) with their representatives, or however you call them in the U.S. Starting from the grass root level as a bigger movement should work way better than getting one single person in the house/senate, for example. It has to be a mass of people - not just one. I must admit the U.S. voting system is absolute bonkers to many outsiders - myself included - so if I misinterpreted some very crucial points, please let me know.

Heads high! Keep fighting!

Best regards, A Person From Outside Who Also Cannot Believe Almost 50% Of The Votes Are For DONALD TRUMP*

For those who cannot see the link for whatever reason, here are a few comments (which have thus far garnered hundreds, in some cases more than a thousand likes each - names of the commentators have been erased, I hope this goes with the rules of the GC platform):

"Woman or girl is NOT an identity. It’s a biological fact. And it is one that renders us vulnerable, from birth, to male assumption of ownership over our bodies and us. And it isn’t our job to cater to and mother everyone. WTF. You have lost your signal. You are lost, and you’re messing up another generation of young people. Good job. Really."

"Feminist role is to protect and promote womens equality not to make everyone else comfortable that's called misogyny when women are expected to put themselves last"

"A reminder of the definition of Feminism. Un-women needs to stop supporting the dangerous gender Ideology and remember woman = Adult Human Female"

"It is our role as feminists to act as mommies and hostesses and make everyone feel safe and included." See how sexist that is? Wrong, UN Women. Our role as feminists is to fight for the liberation of female human beings."

"'Women's work', eh? To be indoctrinated and emotionally blackmailed into putting themselves last to ensure everyone else's happiness and comfort since time began... Please focus on helping people to learn how to take responsibility for their own emotional needs. Women are busy."

Was just checking their Twitter - this is a partial, but direct quote from their post (29th of October):

empower female #refugees

end female genital mutilation

advance #genderequality

address gender impact of #COVID19

prevent #genderbasedviolence

support indigenous communities

develop women's IT skills

I highlighted the parts I truly do not get. "Address gender impact" what the what? What does that even mean? For reals? Advance gender equality? In their words, if you're a woman - just hunker down on your vageegee and carry the weight of a teensy weensy minority's issues. Because WIMIN! We were meant to suffer.

Prevent gender based violence? Did you mean violence against women or what is going on with UN Women?

Not for women or girls anymore, that's for sure. They drank the Kool-Aid.

Thanks for the links!

Just to note - I would never and have never conflated the countries - I have lived with, worked with and made friends with people from each and every Nordic country, and while there are vast differences... there is also a huge amount of similarities. It makes a lot more sense to speak to people from countries that are MUCH more similar to mine (=Nordic countries) rather than trying to compare Finland to the U.S., for example. I'm sure you get what I mean :)

I think it's best to try to do research elsewhere. I do really want to hear from GC people living in these countries. Nevertheless, again thank you for your contribution. Always appreciated.

First of all - thank you! It has been kind of a Mad Max: FURIOSA Road, and yet I am content I reached this moment, though it took some time.

The Karen meme has been extremely conflicting to me. I know there are loads of people in the U.S. who are massive, gaping, racist assholes, as we've seen - but I am yet to see a single video of a MAN doing the same. It's always the KAREN. KAREN is horrible, terrible, not good, very bad.

Let's be real here though - the "Karens" in these videos are belligerent racists. But hum? It's suddenly only women (who are also a tad older) that are racist cretins? I think not. But you know - we're women. So even systemic racism in the U.S. can be pinpointed on one singular group of people: Soccer Moms™. People with vaginas. Persons with ovaries. Humans with menopause. Name it.

My question is: where the hell is mister "I have as big of a spine as I have a neckline" Mitch McConnell, for example? How come THIS absolute nincompoop, buttonhead, nitwit of a man gets a free pass in all of this? (Hint: it's between his legs. Even writing that made me shiver a bit, in all honesty. Ugh. I thought of his nether areas for a millisecond and nearly barfed.)

Oh wait, I know. It's because "women raised their sons to be Brett Kavanaughs and Brock Turners. Hurr durr." Well if that is the case, I BEG the question: where the hell was the father then? And if the father was not able to be there, what was the reason? Perhaps inequality when it comes to parental leave? Hm? Expensive, inaccessible daycares? Or maybe - just maybe - the entire invention of the almighty internet created imbeciles such as Turner. I digress, I am on a rant mode. Very little coherence here.

(Please note, these "questions" are hypothetical only, because we all know who are to blame for all of these things. WIMIN. I am also probably blamed for not "raising this generation right" even though I do not have any children.)

Good for you, too. :) I am pretty much the same height also, so here's a "high" (distanced) five for shorties! And yes... They go for the one that looks the weakest to them. Always. I wanted to add a parable of this in my text - but then I thought: I'm not gonna compare animals to these simpletons! The top of the food chain indeed, if we talked about the line-up to McDonald's...

But like you said, just that fact alone made you become fiercer. I also shout back nowadays if some bonehead thinks it's alright to tell me how I look. And I have some ~vocabulary~, baby. Once I walked by two dudes and while they didn't really shout at me I heard what they were saying. Pretty nasty stuff. I walked backed and burped on their faces. (I know how to fake burp the entire alphabet, thank you big brothers!) That shut them up at least. Small victories...!

Thank you for sharing! Just like you said: what you wear does not matter at all. I've been leered at when I've worn a dress, baggy clothes, gym outfit, whatever. It truly doesn't make a difference.

And what you said about owning your body is crucial in my opinion. I happen to live in a country where the weather can get crazy hot - so obviously I dress accordingly. I'm not going to cover up and try to move around like goddamn Batman in the shadows when it's +35C outside. These past months I've worn some lovely summer clothes for example, some of them quite fitted indeed. And I looked good, not afraid to say it! But my body was now my possession only - and my frame of mind was "I bloody own these streets and you asshats will move aside." And sure enough - they did.

An attractive woman who gives zero fucks (& swears like a pirate) seems to be the most intimidating type to these chauvinists. There's some odd satisfaction in owning my body completely and breezing through the streets, and seeing how it's the guys now that look almost... afraid. Cackles

Great! And yes - at least from my extensive personal experience I can tell that attitude counts for 99%. I guess physical size might make some men more apprehensive but it absolutely does not deter them. In fact, I'd wager that they can use size as a reason to harass also: if you don't "look like a real woman" or whatever BS. Height or weight (or combination of both) can be easily used against a woman too, there are plenty of examples of this if you just check the comments on an Instagram account of any tall/big woman.

As mentioned it certainly was not an easy exercise but damn, was it worth it. And like another user stated: fake it 'til you make it. Enough practice and eventually you're likely reach the moment where you really don't give a fuck anymore. :)

I really don't know if talking back to a psychologically(/emotionally) abusive spouse will help. As we know, women are most prone to violence in their own homes. I don't know what your situation was exactly, but it might have been a good idea to NOT say anything. There's a good chance your ex could have started using physical violence when his mental torture wouldn't work anymore.

What to do? Speak out. On social media, and real life. Act out.

Agree 100%. And yet - with all this novel Coronavirus going around, it seems even harder to reach out to people: real, living humans. Just an example, the last time I met a friend in person was in April (distanced meeting!) and whooo boy, it has certainly impacted me. I'm not from the U.S. and I don't live in my home country anymore - it seems almost impossible to fight for anything. Who should I turn to? I don't look anything like a "radfem" myself, to begin with. (I'll post about this in the near future). I personally feel like I'm caught in a web - we all probably feel like this in one way or the other... But I do not know which direction to go.

My very easy-peasy solution so far has been deleting Facebook and also reporting every single ad on Instagram as "irrelevant." Then, sometimes, I come here and see there are still at least a couple of reasonable people on this planet. Yet I don't want to wrap myself in a bubble, so I try to (when I feel I have the energy for it) check the news, from various sites. It's crucial to try to understand what the so called other side sees, and why. What are the motivations for a person to love Trump, for example, or to blatantly hate any and every immigrant? I tend to think that the "basket of deplorables" as a single comment, for example, from HRC was very unwise and... downright stupid. And then everything started to spread like a wildfire.

I do not understand how to fight something I don't even know. So for me the best solution is to put everything in somewhat manageable boxes, and see what I can personally do with each thing. I cannot fight everything, nor do I wish to do that. Nowadays it does seem though that you're obliged to have an opinion on everything, and then you have to stick with it: god knows there is no mercy for people who see their past mistakes and try to correct their course. CANCELLED!

I do worry a lot about the younger generations who do not know a world without the ah, so amazing internet. I have younger people who are close to me that are most likely very susceptible to all kinds of horseshit the wonderful web will greedily advertise to them.

P.S. The Contact was made - my cat sat on my phone to show absolute dominance. Never trust a cat - but do love them with all you got :)

Edit: GODDAMN grammar, geez. Also, used the word "everything" too many times in a row. I will go sit on the naughty step now. Gladly I can have my wine glass there too, ha.

Ahah. Where I live the gendercraze hasn’t gone to those levels yet but... if they will, I’m prepared to say “I identify as a MAN so whatever I say from this moment on will be considered assertive and strong, not aggressive.”

Then they’ll have to deal with a man instead of a ~hysterically weird woman who is not afraid to speak her (oops! his) mind~.

No worries, I know it would/will backfire but damn do I want to try these maddening tactics... 👹

Personally, I would say it is incredibly offensive to make me a CIS-something when I am, in fact, the real thing.

The minuscule amount of people who are not a-OK with their genders are the ones who need the prefix. Not us.

I'd like to add - having read the book - that Shrier talks to transitioned people (TiF's) and is extremely respectful and polite to them. There isn't a single sentence where she sounds even remotely "phobic" towards these people. It is, unsurprisingly, also these TiF's who feel that ROGD is the "new anorexia" and that it's essentially very harmful to teenage girls, who haven't even had any sexual experiences in their lives. (Many of these young trans-identifying girls haven't even masturbated.)

This just to point out that she is absolutely NOT transphobic but is very concerned about this phenomenon - as one should be. Giving hormone blockers/T freely to teenagers whose brain is still very much developing is nothing short of abuse, in my opinion.

But of course, the lil Wokists won't even look at the book, far less try to read & comprehend it. In their minds it's just terrible fascist propaganda or whatever. Which is funny, because their tactics are very much veering on fascism, not ours...

To clarify: call yourself a female/woman. Unfortunately you may receive some backlash for this but don’t shy away.

No battle was ever won easily. Keep your head and mind and be assertive. Is it fair? No. Do it anyway. For your own good, and the good of others as well.

I am fun AND nuts, all at once. It’s a great deal! 100% of people recommend! (Small print: to stay away).

I do agree with you though. I fully understand that a lot of people are in figurative handcuffs because while they’d WANT to talk about things, they may risk their jobs, reputation, whatnot. But when those things are not necessarily at stake... don’t apologize. Fight. (Not with fists - words!)

I think it was Terry Pratchett (RIP) who said something along the lines “if you’re not angry, then you haven’t been paying enough attention.”

Siinä on naiseuden ydin.

(Nykyään tosiaan painelen menemään sillä RBF-naamalla enkä vilkaisekaan vastaantulijoita, mikäli kyseessä on mies + nainen).

OT, but it reminds me of the release of The Last of Us II. (Game, not a book, just to clarify). Massive amounts of people - likely some 4Chan/Reddit incels started rating the game as 1 (on a scale of 1-5) well before its release. (Someone at Naughty Dog - the production house - leaked an important plot twist before anyone had even had a chance to try the game and... a shitstorm ensued.)

Funnily enough, this prequel concentrates solely on female characters and their very heart-wrenching, desperate lives and storylines. The game itself WILL break your heart and is exceptionally well made. Critics' score is 93% while the audience score is still very low at 2.9. Oh and, did I mention that one of the female actors received death and rape threats upon the release? Because of course. Point being, people just wanted to have what they expected and were never even willing to give the game a try (or alternatively, gave up when it became emotionally taxing, which it is most of the time. Or maybe because there are zero important male characters in the game. Wild guesses but alas.)

Same goes with JKR's book, it seems. Before anyone has even read the goddamn synopsis they're willing to make a bonfire of the books. Maddening idiocy.

Rentouttavaa ulkoilua kerrassaan. :D Tulipahan hyvät niskavenyttelyt tehtyä samalla?!

(i) Kaipaan myös järvessä uintia, syksyä, salmiakkia, ruisleipää, vispipuuroa, tasa-arvoa, solidaarisuutta, ystäviä, sisaruksiani... Lista meni ehkä väärin päin, tärkein alkaa lopusta!

P.S. Kirjoitan TODELLA vähän suomeksi tätä nykyä, koska en juurikaan enää käytä kieltä edes työssäni, joten jos jotain fingelskaa soperran, niin toivon että olette anteeksiantavaisia. :D

Edit: kielioppi... Saatana.

Miehiä kohtaan on aina joku ylimääräinen kerros epäluuloa.

https://www.unodc.org/documents/data-and-analysis/GSH2018/GSH18_Gender-related_killing_of_women_and_girls.pdf

And for the trans:

https://www.hrc.org/resources/violence-against-the-transgender-community-in-2019

Imma just leave that there.

Oh! And if any transperson made it into this comment section: no murder, rape, assault, or beating is acceptable. It is not feminists who are attacking you; it's the very patriarchal, misogynist MEN who attack trans. Let's make that clear. Very clear.

Yup. When the church conservatives (whichever church it may be) start being "woke," that alone should set off multiple alarms in so-called progressives' heads. Yet - stunning silence ensues. They are, after all, a match made in heaven. Pun intended.

Always appreciate your insights. :) Good lord, woman, are you a library that came alive!? I had never checked the writers of this song - until now. (Fact check: 100% correct.)

When that song first became a big hit (in our remote little country) it was FOR the women, at least from my perspective. I was very young at that time - on the 7th grade - so I never heard it played on the dancefloor, for example. But even so, I recall it was a song for women only and men could go suck it.

I used it in this rant as we all know the song (most of us do, anyway) and the majority of women & men of my age who listened to it didn't take it literally. It was a rallying song, an anthem for the uterus-havers (heh).

I've heard this song play many, many times since in numerous parties and weddings and women tend to go nuts. It was (perhaps still is) a song about "feeling like a woman" and the fact that there is nothing wrong about that - even if it's a split second of champagne craze where you wildly swing your pretty dress and throw your high-heels away and let loose.

As for "You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman" - I only ever knew the Celine Dion version from 1996, but by god I can still lip-synch the entire song (and album, no shame whatsoever, it is one of my favourite albums).

I think all art is a depiction of our times - the songs we used to listen to and love now sound weirdly misogynist and old-school. The art that was once so groundbreaking makes some of us yawn. I recall studying Guernica from Picasso and while I knew exactly what it depicted it bored me to death back in the day; I'm unsure if I like the piece still to this day. (I'm not an expert in arts, maybe that's why.)

In a similar sense the song "Man! I feel like a woman!" was a bit of a different thing for the society then than it would be now.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: women can be misogynists just as much as men. Your biology doesn't make you any better or worse in this matter - or any other.

But we are women still, ha! ;)

evil laughter

Well, this was bound to happen. Deep down the TRA's MUST know that the vast majority of regular people think their whole ideology is batshit crazy. By covering up the billboard, for example, they just made more and more people curious: what is going on, why such hatred towards JK Rowling, isn't she that wizard lady...? And then they go online, google a bit and ba-dang.

I hope they keep making idiotic things like this in the future. It massively helps our cause. :)

I would use (i), although, as noted - it's not likely anything will change your friend's mind.

(Btw, I reacted as a "laugh" in this post, but only because of your friend's comment - not because of what you actually wrote) :)

This finally puts TRA's between a rock and a hard place. If they keep doing this they will inevitably peak more and more people, which I'm sure they're aware of; if they don't keep doing this they are accepting "terrible violence and their right to exist" or whatever. Silence doesn't seem to be an option for them, yet they know the gigantic, gaping loopholes in their own ideology; and that if the normal folks start taking interest they'll be screwed.

Curious to see how they will go about this in the future. Maybe they'll invent a few more woke words to describe the horrible exclusion and mass deaths that occur whenever someone mentions JKR's name?

more bigots coming out of the woodwork

You might be right. Nevertheless, they will eventually start seeing there are far more people opposing their nonsensical ideology than they may have originally thought. And these people may start speaking out as well, to their chagrin. I personally don't much care if TRA's think of me as a bigot or TERF or whatever - it's the end goal that matters.
