FF for men is "normal" (there are no penises...) and MM for women is paraphilia (there's at least two penises.)

So... you're defining whether or not a certain act is "paraphilia" based on the number of penises involved?

It only appears to be an unfair thing to say if you consider male and female sexuality to be equivalent.

Equivalent how? How would anyone have sex if they all exclusively wanted to do the exact same acts to each other? There's a compatibility issue.

It's also odd that you would categorize sexuality into "men and women." The idea that all males have the same sexuality and all females have the same sexuality. I think you forgot about the existence of homosexuality. What it seems to imply is that there is absolutely zero difference between the sexuality of heterosexuals and homosexuals (of the same sex) other than the target. This is wrong.

"fake lesbians" - Drowning in them, aren't we? AGP...

I was referring to bisexual women.

Yet I've never seen a bit of (male-male) gay porn that I felt was inauthentic. Quite the opposite.

Maybe you haven't seen much yaoi lol. But as far as video porn, you can tell that they're sometimes not into it when they just don't seem to be enjoying it and then there's a cut where one or both clearly take a viagra lol. But that's usually only when they're really sexually incompatible, like two very feminine gay guys. Straight guys are more into "double the chicks", while straight women are more into "let's watch this big man destroy some little gay boy".

I'm not here to say that concepts I would not like to realize are not intriguing, that I've never enjoyed some artistic renditions, I'm just quite curious why those things aren't realized on video.

They are realized on video lol. The difference between perceived authenticity is because straight men like to see two very feminine women having sex, they aren't often attracted to actual lesbians, so it's two straight/bihet women. Whereas straight women fetishize the dynamic between a very feminine gay boy who gets destroyed by a masculine bisexual male, which is even more insidious than some straight guy thinking "nice, 4 tits." "Lesbian" porn for straight guys generally involves 0 actual homosexuals, while "gay" porn for straight women generally involves 1 actual homosexual.

AGP are seeking sexual validation first, not necessarily social validation as we all assumed. by aHobbitsTale in LGB_Discussions

[–]usehername 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I think every heterosexual transsexual knows that people generally understand when they see them, that they generally want to be treated "as a woman" (what they really mean is in a "feminine" manner, but their ideas of femininity are warped and they are really just experiencing a masculine form of masochism) sexually. I do object to the idea that all heterosexual transsexuals first begin by somehow developing that fetish, then the desire to transition follows. For some, it is this way, but for many, it is not.

I don't understand what you mean when you use the term "sexual acceptance."

There is a lot more to heterosexual transsexualism than fetishism. When we dismiss them all as "AGPs", that only hurts our cause and glosses over the deeper reasons heterosexuals transition, which are very different from the reasons homosexuals transition. AGP is a real phenomenon, but it's more of a way to describe a specific way in which the psychology and sexuality of biologically masculine people becomes warped during or before the transition process of heterosexual males. It isn't a stand-alone, weird, one-off fetish. I would say that all heterosexual transsexuals most likely have AGP, but a good portion of them likely acquire it after transition.

It is the sexual phenomena of our species that drives the social ones, is that not a fair thing to say?

That definitely is not a fair thing to say. We're human beings. We have the most highly developed frontal lobe out of any other animal. We have animal instincts that must be restrained. There's a reason children need to be taught to eat with a fork and knife and not off the floor with their hands.

Is this how the gay rights movement transpired? The sexual desire came first, and the acceptance came second? ... we've been concerning ourselves with their [AGPs] "social" acceptance, but, clearly it's a sexual phenomena that wants social credibility. ... we cannot have MTF trans as mainstream, socially, before we take them on, sexually ... You have to come sexually first, before we can take you on socially.

I strongly object to your comparison between a warp in natural sexuality to a natural variation in sexual orientations (AGP vs homosexuality). And that, is honestly nothing close to how gay rights came to exist. Gay people didn't say "accept us sexually!! I'm going to flaunt my sexuality!! Accept it and then you can accept us socially :)" No. You don't need to know someone's sexual habits to know they're a homosexual. Usually you can tell just by looking and hearing their voice. And that natural "gender" deviation (femininity in homosexual males and masculinity in homosexual females) in homosexuals is what gives heterosexuals the negative visceral reaction. Actual sexual habits are secondary. If you look back in history, you will see that there were many societies (let's look at Ancient Greece for a moment) where males engaged regularly in same-sex sexual acts. However, actual homosexual males were picked out by their femininity and places into the lowest class in society. The hate wasn't due to their enjoyment of homosexual acts, it was due to the actual, core difference between them and heterosexual or "bihet" males. It's a difference that is easy to spot. Gays aren't "found out" because they're caught having sex or talking openly about crushes. In general, everyone who sees a gay person and hears his voice can tell. Lesbians do a little better of an impression of straight women, but there are still noticeable differences.

Also, I'm wondering why you decided to categorize all MTF trans as "AGPs". You somehow forgot homosexual transsexuals, you know, the reason why transsexuality exists in the first place. As a conversion tactic.

Your tone is odd, as if you believe "the AGPs" are somehow conspiring against... I guess straight/bihet women?

I'm tired but I'll try and drum up a decent response.

I think your reply, by my experience, is an invention--one that is designed to satisfy women.

What in the world does this mean?

And circling back to your previous comment:

Gold-star--look at the connotations of those words--is only applied to women.

No one is maliciously or inconsistently "applying these words to women." Gays and lesbians apply the term to themselves. I guess when lesbians apply the term to themselves it's being "applied to women" ... by the lesbians themselves or sometimes the bisexuals who are feeling bitter over it. "Gold star" has always been a lighthearted term. When lesbians chose to adopt it from gays, they took it a little more seriously (at least lately) as a way to differentiate themselves from all the fake lesbians.

I think that is readily juxtaposed with men who want to be "100% sure." And could one ever be 100% sure? (Reductio ad absurdum--has one met everyone of the opposite sex?) This is the constant anxiety that men who are fond of men face.

Homosexuals of both sexes face this equally so I'm not sure what your reasoning behind only applying it to males is.

The social disapprobation for men being fond of their own sex is vastly larger than that of women. By Western, heterosexual standards, women into women is "hot," and if you will excuse me for a moment, entirely heteronormative--for the enjoyment of men.

Lesbianism is fetishized because it' more acceptable socially. Gayness is now reaching the levels of acceptability where straight women fetishize it and it's unfortunately a sign of their status in society increasing (not unfortunate that their status is increasing, just unfortunate that the "good sign" is fetishization, still it's an improvement over pure disgust).

By Western, heterosexual standards, women into women is "hot," and if you will excuse me for a moment, entirely heteronormative--for the enjoyment of men. (Touching on feminism there.)

"Heteronormativity" is not a term associated with feminism. It's about homosexual status and struggles. And is commenting on straight women flicking the bean to violent fantasies of 99% straight dudes obliterating some gay boy in his basement (a reference to Killing, Stalking, an incredibly popular yaoi comic written by a straight woman which has won awards) somehow "meninism" because it involves a male homosexual being violated in a way?

wrt.

Sorry I don't know what this means so the sentence containing it is incomprehensible to me, so my next interpretation might be wrong:

I don't think anyone has really evaluated men's interest in women-women relationships wrt. paraphilia as women's interest in male-male relationships as the same.

Are you saying straight dudes jerking to lesbian porn (or rather "lesbian porn", usually two straight girls directed by a straight guy to try not to cringe while barely touching each other) is not paraphilia, but straight chicks masturbating to gay porn (or rather "gay porn", usually some drawing of two males by a straight woman), is paraphilia? If so, what is the reason for the inconsistency? But again I could be wrong because I'm lost at "wrt."

I don't give a good god damn about what should be, and would rather concern myself with the way things are, and after which, we can sort out the morality, and moral hazards that follow. But I won't try and obscure anything that's topically relevant.

Ok? Are you implying that I did do that? Or am doing the opposite?

Is there not such a thing as a gold-star gay? Such a term is not in common parlance, at all.

It actually is. The term actually originated with gays, partly as a joke. Whee you get a little star for not having to torment yourself by trying to have heterosexual sex.

Lesbians are more concerned with this subject because of the hordes of non-lesbians who call themselves lesbians. That doesn't happen as much with gays because of their status. No guy wants to call himself gay unless he absolutely 100% is.

I guess there was a recent conflict where a lesbian got in a huge argument on the sub because she said lesbians don't have sex with men and other users were saying some lesbians were neutral about it and accusing her of looking down on "non-goldstars" who had suffered through it, but she wasn't objecting to the fact that some have forced themselves to do it, rather she was objecting to the statement that some lesbians are "neutral" about sex with men.

That broke the camel (Tumbleweed)'s back and she essentially banned everyone and let only a couple choice users who had never disagreed with her and prostrated themselves to her back in. So s/LGBDropTheT is now a bisexual circlejerk sub.

The discrimination towards bisexual people for being bisexual.

Define that and give me examples.

If you're rude to someone based on something they can't control, race, sexual orientation, sex, etc. That is seen as discriminatory.

When someone spits on you in the street, yeah. When someone online says "you're a slut" it isn't.

rape and death threats

Gay males experience more actual death and rape. The only death and rape threats or actual actions that would happen to a bisexual are due to their homosexual side. When has a homosexual ever threatened to kill or rape you for being bi? This is what I'm talking about with real discrimination and hate.

Radfems have the idea of "political lesbianism" so you never really know which one of them is a real lesbian, but yes, some of them are. The basis of radical feminism and feminism in general was built by lesbians, radical feminism because lesbians assumed straight women were exactly like them. Political lesbianism is a gigantic part of radical feminist. Exalted radical feminist authors such as Sheila Jeffreys and Julie Bindel are political lesbians. Whether they are genuinely lesbians or not is moot because they believe lesbianism is a choice and they chose it, and so can all women.

There is no such thing as "bihet." .... the minority of bad bisexuals

History says otherwise, and unfortunately they are the majority of bisexuals. Just look at history. Societies where bisexuality was normal for 99% of the population. Compare that to now when bisexuals poll at about 30% of the population because homosexuals are more segregated from the general population and it's less acceptable to engage with them because now instead of being seen as normal, it's seen as being "one of them" even if one isn't. Though it's important to note that in these bisexual societies, homosexuals were treated much worse so this bit of segregation is a good thing. Homosexuals built communities from nothing.

The important part is this: what changed? Nothing changed biologically. Homosexuality has stayed at a pretty constant (approximately) 1% of the population. This is biologically necessary because most people need to breed. Nowadays with higher life expectancy and quality of life, our population is booming, so we really need to cool it on the breeding, but our biology doesn't know that. Still, in order to stay constant, almost everyone needs to have about two children, though we know with intellect (as opposed to biological urges) that more people need to have one or no children so we can gradually reduce the population.

In any case, the word "bihet" describes reality. Yes, these people are mostly (generally by a landslide) straight. They're also most people. This is biologically necessary to keep the population at least constant.

Homosexuality is conservative because it depends on the conservative definition of biological sex.

Mental gymnastics. The definition of biological sex is a scientific one. It's been politicized but it isn't inherently political. Gay marriage and rights aren't conservative. I suppose I could say it's "conservative" of me to want to conserve those rights, but conservatism is about conserving "traditional" values and bringing us back in time to a point that we didn't have them.

Atheism is just antisemitism extrapolated onto every other religion.

What?

Why should we continue to support the left

We're 1% of the population. We're not supporting the left. The left is supporting us, barely and in a brain-dead way. The philosophy of liberalism gave us our rights. "Conservatives" don't want to conserve what rights we have, they want to conserve "traditional values" and bring us back to a time when we didn't have rights. Most liberals aren't intentionally using the trans issue to hurt gay people. They're just retarded and don't notice it happening, and many of them would not care even if they knew, but it's not as if conservatives care more (or at all) about gay rights. There are plenty of brain-dead liberals who are compassionate and just think trans is gay2.0 and just support it without thinking about it.

It's not about access, it's having shit ton of mental health issues related to biphobia.

Such as what and what is biphobia? Some people being rude to a person? I'm sorry but I've never heard of a bisexual who was bullied to suicide for their bisexuality. Maybe from homophobic bullying. And I just really don't see rudeness as anywhere comparable to actual homophobia which involves violence and discrimination.

(since bisexuals are still same sex attracted)

I didn't forget lol. One major points in my OP was that many bisexuals experience a form of homophobia and call it "biphobia".

It's also about unfair treatment.

Can you give me an example of a bisexual being treated unfairly specifically for their bisexuality?

When it's comes to the treatment by trans done to LGB, who do people talk most of being mistreated the most? Lesbians.

First, it depends who you listen to, and second, gays are used to much more horrific treatment so they don't complain about it as much. They're used to real hate crimes, not just hurt feelings.

RadFem lesbians

"Radfem" ideas about the way the world works are ridiculous and myopic, and you'll find that most "radfem lesbians" aren't actually lesbians because radical feminists think lesbianism is two women rubbing their divine femininities together and you can choose to become a lesbian. The whole "women have a fluid sexuality" was specifically pushed by radical feminists because they wanted women to try to become lesbians. And yeah, being pressured into threesomes with men is something that happens to feminine appearing lesbians, since the man has to be attracted to her.

"spicy straights"

1% is still bisexual. They're bihets. I just keep seeing bisexuals who are strict about definitions when it comes to gay and lesbian suddenly decide that these particular bisexuals aren't also bisexual so they can put themselves in a different category from people who do bad things.

Just ask all of the non-"gold star" gay men and lesbians out there.

Right, which happens because of homophobia and they feel horrifically ill the entire time and basically rape themselves by willingly engaging in it. They're basically forced to do it. Gays and lesbians don't suddenly decide to go straight because their preferred option isn't around. So why would you call a straight guy who chooses to have sex with other males when there aren't any females around (or just gets a hate boner for feminine gays) heterosexual? The correct term would be bihet.

I just want to hear your definition of genuine attraction, because it seems to exclude people who willingly engage in same-sex sexual activity if they have a preference for the opposite sex. Or do you consider it all hate-fucking and does that fall outside of genuine attraction? I really want to know.

there is more to it than just that. Like mental health.

Bisexuals don't face discrimination in access to mental health services. I'm not talking about people slightly disliking someone or being slightly rude to them. I'm talking about discrimination and violence.

It's similar to mixed race people, they may face racism of a minority group one of their parents may be, but there are people who dislike mix races in itself.

Someone disliking you isn't oppression. Discrimination and violence are.

Pretty sure it's more than "just venting," it's more the way lesbians are treated by some gay men. I have seen, as well as heard from lesbians, from horrible treatment they received from some gay men. Just because they were lesbian.

This is interesting because it's well known among gays that lesbians are incredibly hateful towards them. I've known many lesbians like that, and there are countless examples online. They sometimes think their masculinity makes them better than gays in every single way and it can even be violent. My best friend told me about an instance where a gay friend of his got the absolute fuck beaten out of him by a lesbian in their apartment complex and her feminine bi gf called the police and cried that he was hitting her. This is a ghetto situation but it's a decent reflection of the current dynamics. Point being, when gays experience oppression it's violence and discrimination. Lesbians face the same thing, albeit with a bit less violence in general.

Discrimination isn't being disliked. It's being denied civil rights, and it's often paired with violence.

Lesbians have gotten it way worse than gay men. Gay men get to stand up to them more than lesbians, and not face as much as backlash as them. They got to keep their spaces, even when calling out transpeople, but lesbians got theirs stamped out. Just as lesbians were more likely to face death threats, rape threats, doxing, etc. Crap, there's even the whole gross "cotton ceiling" created just because they didn't want to sleep with transwomen.

https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipN6bUPUugEzmNmC-nZTunsVPUtgAuMANMmoVSD1j5gmROqY5E53VSCukHKc8zSRHA?pli=1&key=bTMzMDNKeC1vbkFkRjlqTHJKM284RU1IQ3JkSlF3

Gay venues are shut down for not accepting TIFs. Apps have to accept them. There is tons of pressure for gays to date a "man with a vagina". Ask some. And it seems you haven't heard of the "boxer ceiling".

And gays have always faced (and continue to face) the most death and rape, along with just death and rape threats, just for being gay.

The "women are fluid" myth came from men thinking women were more "fluid" and men not so much.

That isn't an origin. Why did they think that? It's because many heterosexual or 1% bi women being willing to engage with each other sexually for a man's entertainment. The fact that they often want to bring lesbians into this to use as human sextoys. Ask some lesbians if they have ever been pressured into an arrangement like this.

edit: But the focus on heterosexual transsexuals misses the real problem, which is homosexuals being forced or coerced into transitioning because of homophobia.

I didn't say Europe does it, I said Europeans can't donate blood in America (because of a risk of mad cow disease). I don't know what Europe does with donated blood.

On second look, it appears that they only take samples of the blood and perform batch testing, so not too much of the blood is wasted if there is someone with a blood-borne disease in the pool. However, the point of this all is that tests for various diseases are incredibly expensive, and they perform batch testing to reduce the costs by using fewer tests. 8 million people donated blood last year and a single HIV test is about $50. That adds up. If someone in the batch has a disease, then they go back and test each sample individually. These costs can become massive, so they eliminate high-risk groups to save money on tests.

The blood donation law is about the price of testing kits and it isn't exclusive to gays. Europeans can't even donate blood in America because we test in batches so if one person has a disease, they have to throw out the entire batch.

I'd advise anyone reading this to ask an actual gay person how hard it is to be gay in Russia, not a straight girl who flicks her bean to gay porn.

You seem like a nice person so I'll try to be tactful here, but I really don't think that being rejected for dating or sex is tantamount to "discrimination". Discrimination is about being denied basic civil rights such as the right to work, get married, not be discriminated against by businesses, etc. Homosexuals do not discriminate against bisexuals. Some homosexuals do not want to date bisexuals because of a pattern of abuse which stretches back thousands and thousands of years when you look at ancient civilizations and the classes that gays were placed in and their relationship to the bisexuals who had sexual relationships with them. Lesbians don't have as huge of a historical precedent, since historically lesbians have always been at a higher class than gays and sometimes a higher class than heterosexual or feminine bisexual women. So the legacy of violence against them isn't as massive and was perpetrated by heterosexual men or heterosexual women through the proxy of heterosexual men. For them, it's mostly a precedent of being used by bihet women once they got tired of men, and then left by said women when they decided they were ready to "return to heterosexuality".

A gay man having issues with a lesbian (which I have seen before, and vice versa), he would be lesphobic.

Some gay guy venting about his status compared to lesbians or other frustrations with lesbians is not discriminatory nor any kind of "phobic". We're allowed to have issues with each other and express them, and it's honestly silly to claim that that means he is now oppressing lesbians. Currently it really isn't even possible for gays to oppress lesbians, nor has it ever in the entire span of written human history been possible.

Since if there's one other faulty ass idea to exist, it's: impossible for women to dislike dick. It's just not possible. Women are "fluid ones" in sexuality. They have got to like it! Even just a teeny little bit.

So when the reverse happens, and straight TIFs insist that gays must secretly want them ("bc omg who wouldn't want me teehee?"), it should be called "gayophobia?" The two situations are clearly parallel. It's homophobia from heterosexuals who want homosexuals. Splitting it up and pretending that somehow being female overrides all that and compounds it x1000 just introduces confusion about what's actually happening.

And the "women are fluid" I guess "myth" comes from heterosexual or 1% bi women being willing to engage with each other sexually for a man's entertainment. The fact that they often want to bring lesbians into this is a big problem and contributes to them not wanting to date or have relationships with bisexuals.

It didn't come out of nowhere. Tumble's been banning every homosexual who objected to the shallow analysis of "allies" or 99% straight 1% homosexual "bihet" people who essentially never experienced homophobia, internalized or otherwise, and mostly went with the radfem narrative of "it's 100% misogyny and anyone who transitions is an evil piece of shit!!" ignoring the countless damaged homosexuals (or bis with a homosexual "core" or majority leaning) who were essentially pressured by society into transition. I was banned for defending those users who were banned and deviating from that narrative and getting into arguments with other users about it, though I always stayed civil.

Simply suggesting that perhaps their perspectives were warped by being an "ally" or 1% bisexual heterosexuals was considered rude enough for a ban. She started this silly campaign where she pretended everyone who didn't share the "this is all misogyny!!!" POV was just one user making new accounts and trolling ... even though many of these accounts were well-established, much older than the account of the one user she was referencing who was frustrated and a bit more rude (though rudeness is not a bannable offense here, how is anything supposed to be solved if we can't express our frustrations in the first place? even if it's done in a less-than-tactful way).

I actually spoke with all the users that were banned and that's why I made this sub, so that they could have a place to speak about it, but back then it was completely dead and even now it isn't very active. As of now, none of those users are active anymore which is a shame. Tumble really silenced the voices of homosexuals and the few (no offense here, I'm sure you feel irritated with all the 1% and TRA bisexuals out there) sane bisexuals for her own narcissism, and then in a last fuck-you, closed the one place that we had left to talk about transsexualism and the way it affects us to almost everyone.

It actually isn't, if you read the bill. I'm American and I don't support hate speech laws at all. I think they're dystopian. However, calm and well-reasoned criticism of transsexualism will not be considered hate speech under this bill.

Bill C-261 full text

Definition of *hate speech*

(9) In this section, hate speech means the content of a communication that expresses detestation or vilification of an individual or group of individuals on the basis of a prohibited ground of discrimination.

Clarification – hate speech

(10) For greater certainty, the content of a communication does not express detestation or vilification, for the purposes of subsection (9), solely because it expresses mere dislike or disdain or it discredits, humiliates, hurts or offends.

The idea that someone can be arrested for something they post online, which isn't a direct threat of violence, is detestable to me. However, it's also important to keep in mind that this law does not apply to private communications.

We can criticize them without expressing "detestation or villification." I think we can all tell what parts of the "GC" movement would be forced to tone it down. There is a lot of detestation and villification of transsexuals online from "GC" people. In my opinion, expressing that is their right, and again, laws restricting free speech give me the chills. If I had it my way, I would veto the whole thing, yes, including the anti-racism parts.

However, it's silly to claim that now it will be impossible to criticize them or the ideology at all. I think most of the panic over this bill is from the type of "GC" "feminists" that give the rest of us a bad name. The kind of people who say all "TIMs" (trans-identified males, clarifying since this sub is on s/all) are just evil p3d0ph!l3s whose sole purpose in life is to r@p3 and generally subjugate women and girls. The people who think that this is a conspiracy by George Soros to oppress women and "TIMs" are his agents of evil. That kind of silly shit. You know how Karen Davis's fans harassed Arty Morty for daring to call out their hateful behavior and trying to find out why heterosexuals choose to transition (he deviated from their narrative which would answer that question with: because they're demons who hate women). Those people. Nothing Arty Morty himself has ever said would break this law.

Transsexualism is something that's done to homosexuals. Heterosexuals are now also choosing to transition, but historically, this has been an issue for homosexuals only. Homosexuals have been dealing with it for thousands of years. Now, some annoying heterosexual/bihet women want to jump in and say actually they're poor widdle victims and this is their problem and they're suffering so badly that they detest transsexuals... the transsexuals that they created through their participation in homophobic systems of action and thought... it's just ridiculous and it makes the rest of us look retarded and evil.

Bill to repeal Maryland sodomy law dies in committee by usehername in LGB_Discussions

[–]usehername[S] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

A bill calling for repeal of a Maryland law that classifies oral sex between consenting adults as a crime and that was used to arrest four gay men in an adult video store in May 2021 was approved earlier this year by the state’s House of Delegates but died in a committee of the state Senate.

The law specifically bans oral sex and "unnatural or perverted sexual practice with another or with an animal,” however it's never enforced against heterosexuals.

The Supreme Court's decision in Lawrence v Texas overturned laws like this one. However, after complaints of violation of the sodomy law (essentially "there are gays in my store"), the police chose to raid the store and break down the locked private rooms that can be rented to privately watch videos. These rooms are specifically for people to masturbate or hook up in privately. That is their purpose. These people were unlawfully arrested anyway and forced to spend the night in jail, however, and face criminal charges. Only one of the four is facing charges for indecent exposure, which indicates that they aren't even being accused of having sex in a public place (the rooms are private, locked, and meant for sexual activity anyway, but there could be an argument there, however flimsy). They are specifically attempting to regulate sexual acts done in private. More specifically, homosexual acts.

This case happened last year. This will get worse with the overturning of Roe, and the possible overturning of Lawrence. I can imagine homosexual couples' homes being raided on suspicion they are committing "sodomic" crimes, and having those police actions be completely legal.

edit: I also want to add that the above situation happened in 2021, so yes this law is still being enforced.

I think not all kinds of hate towards certain groups are deserving of a "phobia" label. That's how we got all the silly claims of things like "fatphobia" and "acephobia". If I irrationally hate all blondes, are we going to call it "blondephobia"?

I think the distinction between what gets to be a phobia and what doesn't is whether it's a real, active phenomenon in society. Can people hate bisexuals for reasons other than homophobia? Yes. Is it a widespread phenomenon like homophobia---which is a deep-seated issue in most people---deserving of its own name? Does it warrant specific study? I don't think so.

As far as lesbophobia, I think that homophobia just manifests differently when it's directed towards females than when it's directed towards males.

I read an interesting comment by a lesbian saying she used the word "lesbophobia" to describe the unique thing that lesbians face which she called "a mixture of homophobia and misogyny". But I think that "misogyny" is inherent in homophobia against females the way "misandry" is inherent in homophobia against males. Homophobia seems to me to be an issue of het/bihet people feeling like "ew, you aren't being a man/woman correctly". Some people would interpret the female version of that as misogyny, but to me, the different manifestations of homophobia, which I guess in this language scheme would be described as "gayphobia" and "lesbophobia" are two sides of the same coin.

s/LGBDropTheT has gone private. LGB Discussions is no longer a restricted sub. This is the place for open, intra-community discussion without overzealous moderation by usehername in LGB_Discussions

Honestly, it seems that the owners of the old sub just weren't that committed to having a place where we can have open discussion amongst ourselves.

Yes, I want to be able to talk about all things LGB here, even if they might be offensive. That includes drop the T of course.

Except you're cherry-picking. More recent polls put the numbers around 20-30%. But I guess those people "don't count" because they're "probably mentally ill or something" as if mental illness can change your sexuality. I have news for you. If you experienced a "change" in sexuality, you were never straight.

Sexual orientation isn't a mental illness.

No, only the users who admit to it. And yeah it's a decent portion of the world as well, but most people are only barely bi.

There is already a replacement sub. s/LGB_Discussions

edit: It used to be restricted, but it's now open.
