If that's her attitude then why even bother getting divorced? I mean, if she's willing to reframe reality even for rape in order to make the man in a dress feel better, she's obviously prioritizing his needs above her own.

So she might as well be consistent and continue to prioritize his needs.

Congratulations, now they can all come over here. :-)

Pardon my exasperation but this is like watching an abused woman fuss around trying to decided if being strangled by her partner in a fit of rage each night is a good enough reason to leave. Yes it is. He hates you honey, and it's time to pack your things and go. Time to find a new place where you can open your mouth and say words which are not complimentary about the guy in a frock who keeps flashing his ladyfeels at you and expecting you to be his support human on a very short leash.

It's like they are so used to tiptoeing around the demands of their owner that they don't know they're free.

It's not your job to be his mom. Your job, your only job, is to take care of you. It's one thing to have sympathy and compassion for a friend who's going through a tough time or working though difficult issues, but it's completely a different thing for a lesbian to be involved sexually with someone with a dick and to act as support human for someone who's self destructive and dragging others with them merely because you can't say no.

That's really all this amounts to. You need to practice saying no more often. Practice until it rolls off your tongue without a second's hesitation anytime someone demands that you do something that is really really awful for you. Practice until you just don't give a good god damn. Cos you actually do not need a reason to say no other than, "this doesn't work for me".

"No, this isn't working. No, we can't stay together. No, there isn't any one particular reason. No, I don't want to talk about it right now. I wish you the best, whoops look at the time, gotta run". Then ghost him. His feelings are not your job. Maintaining his emotional equilibrium is not your job. Drying his tears is not your job.

Personally, if it were me, I would not mention his dick because he'd probably have a never ending mantrantrum and sic all his flying monkey friends on you. (look up narcissism and flying monkeys if you don't know what that is). I also wouldn't be sucked into some long drawn out conversation. You do not owe him that, especially if he takes that opportunity to lay on the guilt and gas lighting. Say no, it's been fun but now it's not and it's time to move on.

And then do something nice for yourself, because saying no is hard the first few times and you should treat yourself as a reward for ejecting him from your life. You cannot move forward into the wonderful happy life that you deserve until you stop dragging the dead weight of a relationship that is over.

Happy days are ahead, look forward to that!

you said that very well... I think most women are in denial, even radical feminists. They believe that if they just show men enough ever loving kindness, that men will eventually realize we're more than just their accessory/support animal. Not gonna happen tho. When this pattern of casually indifferent exploitation has gone on for thousands of years in every country on the planet, misogyny is not just a pattern -- it's a law of nature.

It is always the women of any generation who do the majority of active volunteering, for any charity or social cause.

A variety of reasons, depending on the person. She might be aware that women still aren't equal so she thinks "if she can just get equality for X group then surely women will be next". Or if she thinks that women are equal enough then she might be expressing pity or kind benevolence for X group.

When it comes to trans, these women remind me of the "fag hags" of the 1980's. They clearly enjoy the testosterone, the aggressive masculine socialization of males yet perceived gay men to be "safe" for them to be around, sexually.

Last, it is worth remembering however painful this may be, that there is an average IQ in any given population -- which means half the population has an IQ below the average. Some people are just literally, quite factually, stupid. They do not reason critically, and are easy victims of propaganda. Get to them early enough and you can convince them to believe anything.

You are so right. If they actually did want their own spaces, if they did want to focus on their own unique needs without trampling over the rights of everyone else, and if they did want to create all that with their own resources, then that's what they would do.

But instead, transgenderism is all about dominating women and colonizing womanhood -- our energy, our time, our resources, our attention, our spaces, our bodies, our language, our everything. A narcissist always needs to be the center of someone else's universe.

So start your hobby sub over here?

A bit confused why more people aren't doing that. I'm starting a new sub here at saidit, precisely because there's no point in anybody continuing to use reddit for any reason. It's not only the women's subs which are affected, almost every single big sub over there is controlled by a SuperMod who massively controls what gets posted in those groups and consequently, what gets posted to the front page and what is accessible to most redditors.

Build it and they will come. Yes i can see how some subs focused on women's issues won't be able do activism well here, not with the saidit /all rule about engaging with any random troll who appears, but the rest of those subs? Reddit needs to die.

This is excellent!! A problem cannot be fixed until it is first accurately identified. Women have been fighting sexism and misogny since forever, which is a huge clue that it's a lot more pervasive then many women are comfortable with. There is some percentage of the male population which just never stops trying to keep women in servitude and the reason for this, is because we're just appliances to them and they only get concerned when the appliance stops serving their needs fast enough. No matter how much educational campaigns and kind hearted attempts are made, eon after eon, they just don't ever stop -- but we can never address that as long as we keep pretending that sexism will stop "one day" "if we just try harder".

How many women have to suffer before there's a collective consensus that the standard feminist strategy just isn't going to fix anything?

Anyway, i'm glad to see some teenage girls who are aware that causing women pain is the entire goal. Maybe now we can finally get somewhere!

hmmm, some morality transcends culture. I really do not care that some cultures are okay with cannibalism, I still judge them to be deficient.

To make the implicit argument that dehumanization of women and girls shouldn't be judged in some far off land because we couldn't possibly understand how their special brand of misogyny arises... eh. no. That's just the class based version of the intention justification. On an individual level, until very recently it was usually worded like "well yes he did beat his wife to death but his intentions were good, he didn't mean to snap. and now, he'll have to live with this for the rest of his life, poor guy".

It's focusing on the supposedly well meaning intentions of the abuser instead of focusing on the damage caused to the victims.

first, congratz on a new sub! Secondly, personally and i say this very very gently. I would delete that one, wait however long you have to, (maybe a week) and then start another one called "therearetwosexes".

The entire problem with transgenderism is that it constantly confuses gender sterotypes with biological sex, so anybody who is the least bit gc will spot the title and be quite leery.

But also, we already have this one (which is pretty good) and saidit doesn't have that many members yet so it's not worth dividing so few people into even smaller subgroups.

What are you planning on doing differently that another sub is necessary?

Women's anger by [deleted] in PinkPillFeminism

[–]tuesday 8 insightful - 2 fun8 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

i have been thinking a lot about this lately, we're not allowed to express anger because it feels threatening to other people. WHY are they so threatened when women get angry tho? Women tend to not get physically violent, so that's not the reason.

Maybe they can't cope with the fact that we have LEGITIMATE reasons for being completely fed up with men and especially transwomen? As long as we're just a teeny bit sad then they get to tell themselves that it's not as bad as we claim. Which means they don't have to do anything differently and they can keep the status quo.

Even in gendercritical here at saidit, i feel like the mods are okay with a little bit of anger, but "too much" and they'll start looking for a reason to ban women. Remember laydees, we're supposed to be kind even when someone is dehumanizing us and erasing our rights! And we're especially supposed to be kind when handmaidens are around. <kinda makes me want to vomit.

If enough dingaling women would stop tolerating the bullshit, sexism would have ended a long time ago. Bullies push until you either escape or if there's no where for you to escape to, you push back. That's how bullies operate! Bullies don't suddenly stop bullying because you've inspired them with your ever loving kindness, they see kindness as weakness, as carte blanche to continue their campaign of oppression.

I am new here so quite likely the motivations for various policies is over my head but.... I thought this was a free speech site? (as long as no violence is being advocated)

I don't understand the purpose of Super Mods at all. Why not just let each sub decide and enforce their own moderation policy (again as long as no violence). It was the site-wide multi subs ban lists as dictated by the Super Mods at reddit which drove me away, even before all the sub canceling. I was banned by the social justice warriors in subs i'd never even posted in. Honestly if super mods over here are anything like at Reddit, I'll just keep looking for a site which actually does protect free speech.

"Cancer is spreading on saidit. Abusive users are already here, creating radical feminist bullshit subs, making posts like "FUCK MEN FUCK MEN FUCK MEN YALL EAT A DICK" and then censoring anyone who calls them out on it."

If your only purpose for commenting in a sub is to voice your opinion that they shouldn't exist, then you're the exact opposite of an advocate for free speech.

Evolutionarily speaking, having an internal sense of your own sex is important for a number of different mating behaviors.

"having a idea in your head of what kind of body you should have".

Transactivists LOVE to shift words around and then too often even people who are gc will repeat those phrases instead of thinking critically. When people have a idea in their head of what kind of body they should have, and their idea doesn't match the material reality of their actual body, we used to call that mental illness. To call it an "internal sense of sex identity" is just using their propaganda.

Also, in cases were intersex people were reassigned sex at birth, there is an extremely large number of people who end up rejecting their assigned sex and identifying with their biological sex.

In pretty much every case where an intersex baby was "assigned a sex at birth", the baby was a male DSD with abnormal genitalia and was then "assigned" to be female because the doctors figured it was 'easier to make a hole than a pole'. So it shouldn't surprise any of us when that kid grows up, realizes how badly women are treated compared to men -- and then "decides" they'd rather be in the more privileged class.

Which is why I must politely disagree with your belief that there is an element of biological hard coding regarding one's sense of sex identity. Unfortunately, that is exactly what transactivists say.

There are problems with requiring bottom surgery. For starters, the ethical ones. Is it really ethical to require bottom surgery when the outcomes are so incredibly poor, even with the best potential patients. The worst potential patients, won't even have enough penis tissue to make a "inverted sock" such as happened to Jazz. With other patients, like transmen, the "penis sausage" frequently rots from the inside and has to be amputated. And then there's the cost. As soon as it's required, only the well off trans can afford it, and so the poorer trans are automatically excluded. Do we make insurance pay for it? But we don't have a national health insurance program like they do in the UK, so who pays for it? And what if the trans can't afford insurance?

Do I really feel like typing out all the other problems? Just with requiring bottom surgery? Dear god.

As someone else said, the law doesn't do well with exceptions. Laws need to have a bright line written in them, or everybody from the traffic cop to the judge gets confused. So you either let them all in, or you keep them all out. And then of course, you'd have to have the "panty police" check everyone's genitalia configuration at the door to the ladies. OR take everyone's word for it. OR require every single person who is alive in america have a doctor certify that they really are a male or a female so they can show everybody the piece of paper, because the situation is that some people have already had their birth certificate and other documents amended even tho to look at them you know their sex is not what they claim and they still have their dick and they're still narcissist as hell, and those people need to stay out as well.

So many problems with "compromise"....... What is your purpose for this "compromise" and why does your "compromise" involve women giving up single sex spaces. What exactly is the trans going to give up? Do they promise to stop with the doxxing and harassment and getting women fired from their jobs and why does that look like typical predatory manipulation to me? "If you give me access to your spaces so I can oggle you while you're changing at the community pool and I can accidentally flash my dick at your six year old daughter then I'll stop er being mean to you". That is enraging, WTF.

How about this as a "compromise". I'm entitled to single sex spaces when I am getting undressed or otherwise vulnerable or when placing me in with the men such as sports or in a male dominated environment it is a given that most women are going to lose out and lose out badly. My "compromise" is that transpeople can fuck off.

You might as say to a woman who's rejected some man's badgering demands for sex, "oh honey why can't you compromise with him". You are suggesting that I should give up my basic human rights in order to be nice.

And this, is why this sub and you fucking enrage the absolute shit out of me. I am required to be polite to some rando who wants to encourage young women who are still very much stuck in the "be kind" mentality that they've been indoctrinated since birth to give up our rights to which we are entitled.

FUCKING POLITE MY ASS. How about, you remember to be polite when I ever so gently suggest that it would be a great compromise to suggest that it's now possible to conceive a quite healthy female fetus using only two eggs and no sperm, so no boy children need ever be conceived and we don't have to deal with sexism ever again because no males pretty much equals no sexism. You remember to be polite when I offer this suggestion as a "compromise".

Huchard suggests that their recent findings "open the possibility that sexual intimidation has an evolutionary basis."

Claiming that X Horrible Thing has an evolutionary cause is just such a cheap shot. It's a justification not a reason. We might as well say that there's an evolutionary explanation for pedophilia -- which of course means that we should legalize pedophilia. Oh wait, the same people say that too.

Propagation of the species is not the same as propagation of a humane society. What do you think would happen if the female baboons simply killed the worst offenders in every generation before those males had a chance to breed? Would the same misogynists claim that everyone should find that practice acceptable -- AND extend that practice to humans -- because "woo it's an evolutionary cause"?

What i'm about to say may sound like old news to some but I sure wish someone had told me. Or that this is emphasized more. when i was in the market for a new phone a couple months ago, none of the websites i visited stressed how insidious google has become lately. Android IS Google. Any android phone now comes preloaded with a ton of fancy new google apps and they all spy on you, everything you do on your phone, everywhere you go, everyone you talk to. It all goes into google's vast databanks.

I'm not exaggerating, the latest phones are absolutely hideous. I go through the apps one by one, disabling almost everything. And yet the next time i think to check, these apps have turned themselves on again and are once again sending info to google.

My previous phone was an adroid and it wasn't even close to being this invasive. I think maybe Blackberry might be the only phone which offers actual privacy from data collectors and info sellers. Normally i wait until a phone needs to be replaced due to malfunction but this is so bad I'm tempted to just throw it away.

The majority of trans people I know in real life freely admit their biological sex, freely distinguish between themselves and natal >males/females, and don't feel harmed by discussion of biology or sexed bodies. They generally also acknowledge their are non-transphobic reasons to be concerned about trans women competing in women's sports or being in women's prisons.

That is really interesting, thank you. I wonder why I've met so many that are the opposite? One transwoman I knew, was a grad student, and he would go on and on about a software program he was developing which he desperately hoped someday would allow brain transplants into "donor bodies". Super creepy doesn't even begin to describe this guy. What was even worse, was that he would brag about how many conferences he was invited to, and how many wealthy patrons were willing to fund his research. When i tried, very tactfully and gently, to introduce the degree of medical difficulties between a head transplant and say, a knee replacement, he pretty much had a meltdown.

And the transwoman who within an hour of meeting me, decided that i should volunteer to run a support group for trans in my spare time, and got all his trans friends to stalk me when I said no.

And then there was the ex-military guy who told me the story of his brother who died when they were both young, around four and six years old, and (really sorry I just cannot afford to out myself here) the way he GLOATED how happy he was when he basically caused his brother's death. He kept a... "token" from the event which caused his brother's death and would frequently caress it with a great deal of pleasure!

Just so many weirdos. I just can't pretend to even like these people. There were a few who were within the range of "normal" considering they were trans, but for the most part, I wound up getting an extremely negative view of transpeople.

This may be an unpopular opinion but I've personally noticed that it is almost always the young who get sucked into various cults and have extreme difficulty recognizing the criteria of fascism and totalitarianism as expressed in a modern socieety. I'd like to see the schools briefly introduce the concept starting about age 10 and then every year thereafter go into more depth. So they are more prepared and inculcated against that tendency when they become older teens and young adults.

[–]tuesday 5 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

That's exactly what idiots say about racism. IE "discussions about racism doesn't include enough opinions of white people and plus, it's divisive to talk about who has power over whom and who doesn't".

The sad thing is, for many of the people who say that, they actually do believe it. They genuinely don't understand the concept of power imbalance between classes of people, or see how just being white in a society which prioritizes whiteness is a privilege. They only see problems in individuals, and of course, "he has it worse than a lot of well-off black people".

I used to get so frustrated and think, gawd these people are stupid. Now I just accept it: yes, if you were to test their IQ you'd find that they really are a bit below average. You can't use big words with these people, or fancy sociological terms. They also hate the word "racism" and "racist", those words are like pouring gasoline on a fire. With the man in the OP's example, I'd start further back, by repeatedly asking in different ways, how often does he actually listen to the people he is assuming that HE HAS THE RIGHT TO SPEAK FOR. He doesn't even realize he's doing that, so you have to start there. And of course, if you could ever get him past that part, you'd find that the only black voices he listens to, are "too angry, too blunt, too accusatory, too triggering". It never ends with these people. There's always a reason which explains why he shouldn't listen to the people HE ASSUMES HE HAS THE RIGHT TO SPEAK FOR.

It is the exact same dynamic with sexism. I personally don't have the patience to deal with them. Good luck to anybody who does!

I also don't think that women in privileged environments shields them in any significant capacity from gendered expectations, or are never told "women shouldn't do that".

It's a working class thing, for sure. Poor men need to do something to keep their maid madonna whore access going, so they get really down on independent women and girls. I was threatened with beatings and other coercive behavior all the time for not performing my duties as a princess, while growing up.

Think about it... men with disposable income can BUY temporary instances of maid madonna whore whenever they need, so they don't have to coerce every woman around them into playing those roles. (Which is why middle class women annoy the fuck outta me. The men you know are just as sexist but you get to pretend to yourself that they're not.) Anyway, a man without disposable income, the poor ones, he has to enforce maid madonna whore onto every woman and girl he knows, cos he needs those women and girls to perform the job for free.

The thing about male on female rape tho, is that he's acting out and reinforcing the idea that women exist solely to serve men. So not only is there an individual power trip going on, but also class warfare.

The second trauma doesn't occur if a woman should rape another woman. Besides that, < is extremely rare. It's worth being aware that targeting prison services for trans inclusion (and by that we all know they mean women's services) isn't random. Attached picture is a contribution by James Morton (Scottish Trans Alliance) from the Christine Burns book Trans Britain. It lays out the strategy.

cos whoops i grew up on a farm, and er... apparently i have butchered animals in a very womanly oh i meant feminine way.

The problem with the term feminine is that it is referring back on itself without ever defining anything, which is incredibly circular. ALL the dictionaries do that for that word. Who is feminine? Women. And not just any woman but a good woman cos feminine men are baaaaad. So what is it that good women do in a feminine way? Oh gosh be all cute and cuddly and pornified. Who benefits when women act like that? men. The REAL definition of "feminine" is just "anything that women do which men like".

It's a dumb male gaze category type word, stop using it.

[–]tuesday 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I'm not sure what your question was. Was it "how can we see the good in men when they do so much bad"?

well, what i struggle with is more like, "what is the point of continuing to believe that men (as a class) will ever evolve enough to stop wanting to oppress women (as a class) when the harm they do actually does outweigh the good that they do?"

In my analysis, it is a GIVEN that they do more harm then good. Considering that everything men could do (invent things, maintain infrastructure etc) women can also do. And since there is now a way to reproduce babies without sperm (i forget what that process is called, but it takes two different eggs so different DNA and then combines them, it's a very simple procedure and the babies have LESS birth defects!) why exactly should women continue to gestate and birth our own oppressors?

The problem for me is that she flip-flops, and always in the direction of where she thinks the money is. She would be selling that data so fast it would make your head spin. She probably already has buyers lined up.

Facial recognition, are you kidding me? To run it through a driver's license databank, to prove conclusively that the person on a forum who eventually accumulates a very long posting history detailing all kinds of personal data , is a real person with a real phone number and address?

that info is a marketer's wet dream. Doubly so for the woke generation who think it's okay to compare us to nazis and threaten us with baseball bats wrapped with barbed wiree.

nope, i honestly did not know, so thank you! I stopped reading reddit several years ago, the toxicity of the 14yo ejaculators got to me. :-P

A researcher has found that of the 16 moderators of Reddit's sub for lesbians, 11 of them were biologically male transwomen. The forum has now been closed down because too many women on there only wanted to date other biological women, and this was considered 'transphobic' by Tarrock in MeanwhileOnReddit

oops sorry i wasn't my clear. guess i was sort of musing out loud.

The real lesbians aren't being treated well in a group which is supposedly for lesbians but has transwomen moderators. So the lesbians leave. Which makes the transwomen FURIOUS in the exact same way that an abuser becomes furious when his property leaves. It's the exact same dynamic. "How dare you leave me, now i will stalk you and do whatever I can to harm you".

I expect quite a lot of transwomen to come to saidit in order to harass lesbians, I expect that to not go how they want, and i expect them to have MAJOR meltdowns irl

Babies are non-binary, through maturation they biologically transition into women, & via socialisation they socially transition into women.

You're doing it again. The problem with trying to pick apart transgenderism in order to understand what they're trying to say, you either have to drink A LOT of alcohol such that you interpret their speech through a hazy stream-of-consciousness non-thought feelzdoubleplusgood; OR you are old enough to know how to diagram sentences, which is no longer taught in schools and hasn't been for years.

What you said in the quoted bit, was that babies are born without a biological reproductive system and then by obeying the wishes of other people, they eventually morph into a... entity which we've all agreed to refer to as a woman but in reality could be anything at all including a carburetor on a 1969 Buick.

In transland, words mean whatever you want them to mean while at the exact same time due to the space-time continuum fluxinator thingamajig, can mean something completely different to me -- and automagically we're both right!

We would be better served, by encouraging young people or mentally vulnerable people, to climb down from pomoqueersaladpubertybullshitnotyetanadult fantasy escapism. words mean things.
