That site nearly shattered multiple times. The first wave of members were mostly gays, lesbians, white women who were either upper class or stay-at-home but intelligent and wanting to learn what this new phenomenon was about. They were all intelligent left-wing people; many with masters degrees in history, gender and sexuality studies...just overall sophisticated people.

They were looking to bring more people in. It got flooded by the 2nd wave. White but stupid, narcissistic, deranged imbeciles from a subreddit called "female dating strategy". It was a sub that was so toxic that even reddit had to ban it. Just a bunch of creepy women teaching each other how to "marry up", reaffirm every patriarchal norm there was as a low iq attempt to spite...the patriarchy lol "He should pay for my dinner. He should make me feel like im in my feminine narcissistic energy and let me blossom into the bimbo i was meant to be". Imagine these people trying to give their opinions on something as complicated as the limitations, flaws and distortions of post modernist philosophy, its history, it's utility and its abuses.

Then came the worst wave of all: the lipstick alley ghetto invasion. Just an army of black women who came in to regulate, give their insane theories: "they all want to be us and theyre jealous of us" while the 1st wave tried to educate them on gender dysphoria and how we should be focusing on protecting the kids. The 1st and second wave of Ovarit users just went with the "we should all just lie and call them pedophiles and rapists and that'll solve the problem". This is how the Gender Critical movement collapsed into a right-wing shit show filled with right wing women screaming that some 9 year old kid wants to rape them.

On to your question: They shut down because Trump won and more than half of white women voted for him. The black women are mad and are coming after them because the white women "chose white supremacy" over feminism. Theyre all going at each other's throats on twitter and tiktok and reddit so why wouldnt they be trying to do the same on Ovarit? And they dont want "trans" people laughing at them, taking screenshots, exposing Ovarit as a circus of idiots. So they strategically said they need to "perform operations" on the site to try and avoid all this drama and wait till everyone is done yelling at each other over Trump to open the site back up.

This happened once before when they realized there was a massive schism on Ovarit and they decided to ban certain topics when girl_undone realized half the users there or probably more than half were very passionate about being against abortion.
