Regarding the pyramid...

Honestly it makes sense if you're purely looking at holding a professional debate, but it's also basically NO FUN ALLOWED ZONE. It's also extremely prone to subjective/misunderstood rulings. For example if you've "explicitly refuted the central point" of another person, he's basically not allowed to respond to you anymore (because if it's been ruled that your central point has been refuted... you can't really turn it around. You've basically been killed on the battlefield to use a metaphor).

Hyperbole:

Person 1: Capitalism has increase the standard of living unlike ever before

Person 2: There has never been more deaths in human history than during capitalism [Technically correct although dumb statement]

Person 3: Actually-

Mod/Admin: HUR DUR YOU WERE ALREADY REFUTED

banhammer

It basically leaves you at the mercy of mods/admins. In it's current form it's pretty cancerous and if anything it should stop at "Counter Argument" as far as rulings go* (refutation seems redundant and will probably just trigger a flood of logical fallacy posts despite not understanding them).

*I assume this will be used in actual enforcement because you write "you're not welcome here" if you go down layers
