Straight men are looking for women. Woman is not an identity. Its not makeup, being in touch with your emotions- looking or acting girly. Woman is an adult human female. No matter how strongly he identifies or how many surgeries he gets, its not possible to be that. People are won't say anything in day to day life bc really most don't care unless you're an asshole. But when you ask people to validate you with their bodies, you've gone too far. All these TWAW lies are doing a huge disservice to these people and its just going to make things worse for them mentally and emotionally. I would feel bad for them, but I'm out of fucks to give about TW and TRAs.

Damn, so back around 2002 when I shaved mine, I wasn't a woman for a whole year. Nobody told me. That whole time I was walking around and I thought all I did was change my hairstyle.

I remember when I first heard non-binary and it was described as a way to break sex based stereotypes. I thought that's great and that describes me. So I looked into it and looked into some of their communities and it's literally ALL sex based stereotypes. It was all about their outfits and presentation. It was sex based stereotypes on steroids. I'm a live and let live type of person and I would be fine if they just did their thing and left everyone alone. But no, I have to be a sexist jerk, too, or I'm an evil bigot. I have to be dehumanized and become a person who menstruates or a person with a cervix so they can indulge their narcissistic, sexist fantasies.

The non-binary stuff is just so stupid. The logic is just brain breakingly dumb. Here's my favorite one:

A transwoman can be a lesbian bc he identifies as a woman, and a non-binary person is not a woman, but can be a lesbian bc... who knows. So basically anyone can be a lesbian.

This is what I've learned from trans logic. Everything is valid and the talking points only have to make sense if it supports what they want it to at that moment. And if you question, you will be bullied or silenced.

And as messed up as this is, the workplace complaints about sick time and whatnot are par for the course working in America w/ our shitty labor laws. That's a widespread labor issue. Of course it should be address- but how do we get cancel Ellen from that. I saw your post on detrans and it really moved me. I know brave is thrown around a lot, but I think it was brave to post. You exposed a lot of your vulnerability and trauma, knowing the negativity it would be met with, bc its so important to speak truth and to try to help others. Even I'm not able to make myself vulnerable (talking about my experiences and trauma) like that to anyone. I've dealt with it all, but I just adopted the "its nobody's business" attitude bc I don't like the vulnerable position it puts me in. I admire you for having the courage to do that. I think your post is actually what put the nail in the coffin for me at Reddit. How could I be ok using a platform that treats women that way?

Its ridiculous to say they welcome detrans people but not GC thought, bc detransitioning is going to cause most people to be GC, esp the women. I think this is why TRAs are so threatened by you guys. I hate to think of the direction the detrans sub will be going in. Just another "elevate trans people at the expenes of everyone else", just like every other sub on Reddit now. That's how I feel. I post occasionally in my TV and local sub, but really even going there doesn't sit right to me bc of what the entire platform stands for now. I really think they crossed a line when they banned GC. I saw all the efforts the mods made to try to keep the sub clean. They really made an effort to keep the kill all men and degrading trans people's bodies in check. In fact, the sub was really growing more libfemmy by the day. The only crime was empowering women and letting them know it was ok to call men, men and expose sex based oppression. The fact that this can't be expressed on the platform anymore just disgusts me. Maybe I should let go altogether and let Reddit be dead to me, too. I don't even think it's worth it anymore to try to engage libfems. They're too far gone and they've made it very clear they hate us. I'm pretty sure they're even ok w/ actual violence being done against us. I think they would cheer it on.

Then there is the fact that many of the recent killings of black trans women in the US were not by the punters but rather similar in type to how all murders are. In other words, a lot of intimate partner killings or fights within the family or drug deals gone bad and so on.

Every single article about trans women who have been murdered fit into this category. I can't remember a single one (I'm sure there has to be, though) where they were murdered for being trans. In the black subs on reddit, there was a circulation of a TW being jumped, but turns out if bc the TW was (drunk?) driving, hit a teenager, and left the scene. Yeah, its wrong to jump someone, but it wasn't bc they were trans.

I don't know if we're at crisis point yet, but we're getting there. People still can't even bring themselves to say TW are men with a mental illness or fetish. Exposure to their ideology and TRAs makes this blatantly clear, but people still can't even bring themselves to say this. Saying this is still the ultimate sin- even in a lot of GC spaces. I think what's most likely to happen is that there will be a hard right swing, and all the TRAs will pretend this whole timeline never existed. The same way Conservatives pretend they ever supported Bush. The people hurt will be people with legitimate GD who TW and TM were actually for, women, POC, gays and lesbians, and immigrants. We (people from those groups) looked to allies for support, and instead they took social justice and used it as a playground where they could play self righteous heroes for karma and likes. And they even dabbled in "being oppressed" by co-opting our experiences and turning them into identities they could put on. I don't mind when GC feminists partner w/ the right and use their resources and platforms, bc the left is just as much against us. But the right will NEVER be on our side, either.

Yes, they need these teenage girls to be boys and grow into trans men. They need them to pretend that we're erasing women for their benefit, when we all know its so men who identify as women don't have to face they're not women. When trans boys and men detransition, it brings the truth to light. You can't change sex and female people get treated like shit by society solely for being female. Nobody (the left, right, and apolitical) wants to face female oppression this bc sexism is so deeply ingrained in our society. This also destroys the whole trans narrative as you said. And bc TRAs can't address it, they try to erase it like they do with everything else that exposes their lies.

We're supposed to pretend this isn't blatant woman erasure. If it wasn't, then female people would be ok to use. The problem is our entire existence invalidates trans identities so there only recourse is to erase us. How progressive and feminist of them.

I saw that and I'm disgusted. It's obvious to anyone with a brain exactly what's going on here. Young females don't want to be overly sexualized and treated like garbage by society (ie being treated like a woman) so they're looking to transition as an answer. Period. Of course these same women are more likely to be GC once they come to terms that you can't change being female and that something is wrong w/ society and not them. That the transing of young children is actually abuse. They can't hide this for much longer. I'm just worried that the response will be an over-reactive embracing of the right. I try not to be a conspiracy theorist, but this bs is the perfect poison pill to destroy the left and the progressive movement.

It's funny bc TRAs swear up and down that they're not trying to erase sex and that gender and sex are different. So why can't we just say female people? This is a great interpretation and I agree! Society sees men as people, and women as not men.

If a woman does not conform to femininity then she is an othered woman, or an othered other.

I've experienced this and I've described it as a being a wrong woman. But there's no place for women like me in "man" or "masculine." It also explains why society is more focused on making feminine males into women (bc they're just "not men"). Women who aren't feminine don't have a place at all, bc we're never going to be considered men. It explains the difference in how TW and TM are seen and treated. TW are being forced into the woman category and TM are an afterthought that nobody seriously believes are men.

[–]terfy_delight 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I think feminism is about empowering women and fighting against the barriers that sexism causes in our lives. I'm not an egalitarian and I don't believe feminism is, or even should be, a form of egalitarianism. In order to do this, you do have to recognize what a woman is and accept the reality that the discrimination and oppression of women is sex based, not gender identity based. With that said, I'm not sure I believe women share a common condition as a class. There are many women, I have nothing in common with and don't even share the same values with. We're only connected by our biology. Many women happily and enthusiastically participate in upholding sex based oppression. Modern trans ideology destroys any ability to even discuss this bc acknowledging the female sex invalidates a male person who wants to be female. It's a reminder of all that they aren't. And in the case of females who want to male, it reminds them of all that they are. Trans ideology solidifies the sexist role and characteristics forced onto female people. What else is a woman, if not her biology? Pretty, submissive, agreeable, nurturing, style of clothes and hair, makeup, etc...those are all sexist stereotypes. Trans women, like most males, have a male created idea of what a woman is.

I don't know if men can be feminist, but I don't trust any man who says that he is one, just based off experiences. All the men I've encountered who say they're feminist have been very misogynistic. And the men who don't call themselves feminist, generally seem to have more respect for women.

Calling a trans person by their dead name is morally wrong and transphobic.

Rude...but morally wrong is a stretch. If you know that person by their dead name and use that, I don't see how that makes a person immoral.

Awhile ago, I would've said that not using pronouns is rude, but I've changed my mind on that. TRAs have turned pronouns into more that just grammar. It's a declaration of ideology. It's now just another way to say TWAW. If it goes against my beliefs to say that, then it's fair for me to use pronouns based off sex. Other people's feelings and belief matter also. Pronouns aren't slurs or harassment, and you shouldn't have to force someone into verbally supporting an ideology if it goes against their beliefs.

I didn't know that he was refusing to personalize the cake. I thought he just refused to sell them a wedding cake. If that was the case, then I think the baker was within his rights. You can't force someone to make a personalized item that goes against their beliefs. If its just an as is wedding cake that he would sell to a heterosexual couple, but not to a gay couple, then that's a different issue. I would consider that discrimination.

Pronouns? I have no idea how that's even related to this issue.

[–]terfy_delight 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

These are two totally different scenarios.

If a cake shop refuses to sell an item to someone bc they are gay, but would've otherwise sold it to a heterosexual- then they are discriminating against gay people. That is wrong. You can't refuse to sell to someone in a protected class.

What does using pronouns or someone's preferred name have to do w/ selling or providing services? Pronouns or names aren't slurs. If they refused to sell an item or service (not personalized) to the general public, but refused to sell it to someone who appears to be trans, then that's wrong.

When she was running for 2016, there were women (yes, plural) in some of my FB groups saying they didn't believe that a woman should be in those kind of leadership positions.

What mental gymnastics are you performing that you think I believe only while old men should be able to lead lmfao.

I've read thru your comments and this is what I'm getting from you, too. I'm also getting that you esp don't want a Black woman to lead. Why would you even make this about Black women, when Biden didn't even say that.

I will not support some rando chosen just cause she ticks off the marks for being female and black. And the worst part is that the reason I won't support her is because some old white man chose her to check those marks and be interchangeable.

YOU are the one who is arguing that female and Black (again, Biden never even said she would be Black but you keep bringing that up) are in conflict with qualified and capable. YOU. Not Biden. He never said he was going to pick some rando- YOU are making that argument. I don't think that's why you won't support her. I think Biden gave you the excuse you needed.

I thought hard about making this last comment, but I'm going to go ahead and say. Women with attitudes like yours are why we are left with two old white men at the end. Instead of supporting women, you look for reasons to not support them. You said, oh men can disagree and argue. But you know what- they support each other and back each other up. They don't gaf at all what women think of them. All the white men in charge who got their job bc they're a white man don't have any problem with it. Neither do the other white men supporting them. It's so common you wouldn't even think to make a post like this about them. So go ahead and keep propping up that system and tearing women down. You've torn this woman down before you even know who she is. You've already said that you won't even support her.

Also there more you force X kind of people, the more flack they will get for being forced.

Women will always get shit and viewed negatively for breaking barriers. I legitimately don't care at all what men think. I dont see myself thru their lens anymore (thanks to radical feminism).

My question was what do you think about Biden announcing his pick in such a manner.

I watched that debate. I watched two old white men, one who half the time cant keep their words straight and the other who answered every question with the same exact stump speech. I knew that one of these men were going to be up against Trump and Pence. When Biden said his VP would be a woman, I thought good. I also thought this woman would be vetted so hard, she would be the most competent person on the ticket, and I thought that was sad bc its so easy for mediocre white men to coast, while women have to be twice as good. That's how I felt.

I actually have a lot of angry feminist ranting related to this...but I dont want to derail the thread.

I disagree. I see a huge disparity between women and men leaders. I'm okay with vocalizing that there's a disparity and vocalizing that he will do this small part to address that. Although, I thought we had too many candidates, I was very proud and happy to see the diversity of candidates campaigning for the nomination. And then at the end we're left with two old white men, not bc theyre the best, but bc everyone was so much harder on the women and poc. Mayor Pete made it far, but do you think a woman with his lack of qualifications would even be standing on the stage that late in the game. A unicorn politician doesn't exist and a vote is not a lottery ticket.

We were left with two old white men- one who half the time can't keep his words straight and the other who only knows one vague stump speech, and somehow we end up with this reflects badly on women. How about let's continue to work on normalizing seeing women in powerful political positions first. The only way we do that is by recognizing - and vocalizing- its a problem and pushing to fix it. I read the comments and I'm disappointed that the posters can look at the women who he's considering, and then reduce them to tokens. Biden hasn't done that. Its the assumption here that woman or Black woman is somehow in conflict with good candidate. These women are more than qualified, and they won't be getting this position bc they are a woman. They'll be getting this position bc theyre qualified and we've prioritizing making sure qualified women arent shut out and passed over for another mediocre white man.

There are a number of female politicians whose stances I very much disagree with and would not want her, that particular woman, to be president.

Our choices for president are Biden and Trump, and Trump's VP is Pence. We're beyond the point of our ideal candidate. Biden's woman VP will be the most competent person on this ticket.

Biden never said his VP will be a Black woman. He said his VP will be a woman. How do you feel about him committing to having a woman VP, in general?

I'd be fine with it, just like Im fine with him saying he'd choose a woman. There are many capable, intelligent Black women who are more than qualified. Im fine with one of them being VP over another mediocre White man. If we dont push for and support women being in power, then we're fine with the status quo. Im not.

It's also a very dangerous mindset. In one discussion, in a private forum where the main mod allowed a discussion on it, one TRA said that first bigots, ie TERFs, should try to be re-educated, and if they can't then they should be destroyed. It hit me, that's how most of these people thing and how they're really nothing but authoritarians. I don't think they're joking when they say we should get the wall or guillotine. They don't believe we should be allowed to exist.

I agree w/ all you said, but I wanted to add that the new trans mod is actually a long time poster. I used to be more active on the black subs and I remember them. They may not have posted in awhile, but they've been around for years. I don't think they should be modding, but they're ok for the most part. They're definitely more on the TRA side though. I'm surprised their mom is just now finding out bc they've been posting about their transition, being trans, and all their "girl" photos for years. So that most likely means, all this time we were supposed to think of them as a woman, they were usually in boy mode. How else would his mom not know? Women don't have the choice to boy mode when its easier.

I read the comments. We don't say anything worse than that, why are they still allowed to post there. Lesbians don't like dick and they sound dumb as hell when they say women with prostate. One guy even joked that GAMP meant gay ass MF.

This is all just women hating bullshit. Women aren't allowed to say no to men. And when we point out how ridiculous they are when we do it, then we deserve to die or get raped.

I have a dumb question, bc after thinking about this, none of this makes any sense. Why would transmen even be on a PCOS sub? Aren't their hormonal issues self inflicted and in a sense, desired? Why would they even need support from a PCOS support group?

Isn't PCOS, in general, triggering to anyone claiming trans, since you have to have OVARIES to have it anyway? There is no credible explanation on WHY a PCOS support sub would even need to be inclusive. It's an oxymoron. The absolute only reason they could complain about a PCOS support group is bc the existence of it is evidence that female exists. So women can't talk about PCOS bc sex organs invalidate trans people, and we're supposed to actually buy this doesn't hurt women.

I don't get why TRA need to hijack r/ActuallyLesbian too.

The very existence of women and lesbians invalidate them, so like typical men who can't handle no, they have to erase all evidence of our existence. They can't help themselves and they'll only get worse, until everyone puts their foot down and puts them back in their place.

The ultimate validation to a TW is if a lesbian fucks them- that must mean they're a real woman. They have so much of their male entitlement and socialization, they never stop to think or care about how that hurts others.

It's so weird bc all over I've been seeing subs say watch out for the TERFs bc now they'll brigade here. Hello, dumbasses, TERFs are just regular women. All they're really doing is trying to scare the women there so they don't step out of line. We already post everywhere and most of us don't even know we're TERFs until we say something that makes the TRAs mad. They've created such ridiculous echo chambers that they're just so out of touch. The TERFs live amongst them!

It's all just so stupid. Its so confusing why a woman suffering with PCOS doesn't think she's only a woman bc how she feels in her mind and that being female is not a spectrum. On another note, one TRA shared the "sex spectrum" w/ me, and it indicated that women w/ PCOC weren't fully women, they were in the middle of the so called spectrum.

Me too! But we're not Jesus. We can't keep turning the other cheek every time we get punched in the face. If people are being shitty, we're well within our rights to call them out on their shittyness. In the banned sub, I saw that TW tell you that you weren't "cis." They basically told you that you weren't a woman bc you didn't fit their sexist stereotype of being a woman. Not saying you had to blow up on them, but that was a really f-ed up thing to say. You were so nice about it, but just think how they would act if the situation was reversed. They would lose their shit. A lot of these TRAs are terrible people. They're horribly misogynistic, hypocrites, fascists, homophobic, racist and whole bunch of other terrible things. It's crazy to feel we have to be nice to people like that.

I'm an individualist too, which is why I'm technically not a Radfem. I don't believe woman is a group/class per say, bc there are lots of women I don't have anything in common w/. I know that sounds weird coming from someone who lives a feminist separatist type lifestyle. I've just found that a common denominator in a lot of shitty people seems to be that they're male. When they call themselves women, it someone doesn't seem to change any of that. But do I hate all men, no. If I had to choose between a random woman and my mom's husband, who I love and trust, and I know would die for me- I would choose him. Being a woman doesn't tell me much about that random person, except odds are she isn't going to sexually harass me or act like an arrogant, dismissive man.

So all that, just to say, it's ok to be fed up, and it's ok to get pissed off. And its also ok to not hate men or trans people.

I don't mean to write a novel, but I wanted to add one more thing about pronouns. I don't think you understand why a lot of GC women don't use preferred pronouns. We're not doing it to be mean and hurt people (well a few are, but most aren't). We're not using them to help undo libfem brainwashing. We have been brainwashed to believe that bc a male person identifies as a woman- they're not a man, and they're now a woman. Pronouns reinforce that programming. All of this is so complicated bc a part of you (that's a general you) still views them as not men. Just think about how evil you feel calling them men. Why? It's crazy. It's bc we've had it programmed in our minds. Not using pronouns just help undo that. This all becomes very clear once you realize you are talking about men- not some "not men" or even different kind of woman or honorary woman- MEN. You don't have to be hurtful and call them that to their face, but it makes a difference when you finally acknowledge that to yourself.

Two of the mods are Black women. At one point, they only had one, and she is married to a white man (If I remember correctly). But everyone was complaining, so they finally got another one. The TIM actually has been a long time poster, and I think they're biracial. Like every other TIM on Reddit, they used to post a bunch of pics of themselves, even their before "boy" photo. For people who are so scared of TERFs killing them, they sure have no problem sharing their identities and photos everywhere online. For the most part, I always thought they were ok. But I'm convinced trans people should not be modding anything bc every time they do, subs always turn to shit. They're worse than the worst men. One mod on BL is even a man who runs a BW porn sub! He tries to keep the porn sub respectful, but c'mon... One mod is an Asian woman. And the one who you saw in the article is biracial and completely insane. She's obsessed with being a "top mod" on Reddit. She's stalked and lied on people outside of Reddit. I'm not even joking, she's nuts. I used to post a lot in the blacksubs and I had to stop bc it was just too much drama, and most of the Black people on Reddit aren't relatable to those of us who like other Black people, like being Black, and aren't obssessed w/ making white people like us.

I really miss gc_woc... we could candidly talk about shit like this

I've already peaked (learning about the cotton cieling did it), but this Reddit banning created a whole new level for me. Blackladies will now ban anyone who posts on Blackgirldiaries. BGD is NOT a GC or anti-trans sub at all, they just won't force users to kiss the trans ring. They've had like two threads criticizing, legitimate criticism at that, a terrible trans person and the trans censoring going on. And that's enough to ban anyone who even posts there. WTF is wrong w/ these people.

I've been thinking about this, too, but maybe it's a good thing. Maybe by driving people off the site, they're breaking up their monopoly. It's creating demand for more places that allow more freedom of speech and thought. My main issue w/ a lot of these online spaces is how it enables people to fully lock themselves in echo chambers that completely alter their reality and world view. That's the scarier part to me. For example, Twitter. Most of Twitter exists in a whole nother world that is entirely virtual and has no correlation to real life. You have people walking around who live in a reality that doesn't exist, and many of these people are "important" and are making decisions and driving discourse thru teaching, writing, and speaking based off this false reality they've locked themselves into.
