until politicians can stop being controlled by bribes, lobbies and the such, voting will not matter much. what would happen is only those who contribute to the system can vote on how the system works? education of the people needs to improve. there's too many people who are unable to think past what the TV tells them. that's just a couple of changes that would likely help the country.

I only skimmed that, but I think it's quite inaccurate. Vaccines were just starting to be used wide spread shortly around sanitary conditions improved. I would bet smallpox, mumps, and some other diseases would have been greatly reduced even if vaccines were not used. I doubt many have considered that.

So I completely agree that the world in general is being pushed or directed in the wrong direction to benefit society as a whole. It appears to be in control of some who want to keep control no matter how the other people suffer. I tell all my kids how things were back in the 1950's America. Most people were decent and treated others with respect. Watching flipper, I love lucy, happy days is the entertainment and some movies that are screened first. What other practices can I instruct them with?

I would love to know where to find online communities that are near me to keep contact with when things might go south. I am now on nextdoor.com, and have red pilled a few people with their own data. Something a little more free speech would be nice.

if i may use this post to ask question of linux. i guess i am paranoid of systemd and would like to move from mint which i have been using for years. file manager crashes often and have not been able to access remotely(only need remote access from downstairs, same network).

i game very little, like to access kids pc remotely (i use ssh and xtightvnc) and move file about network. never been able to remote into (except anydesk) tried a few distros a while back but couldn't shape to my needs. i am not lost with bash, can follow most instruction mostly with success. advice please?
