What is your source? I am pretty sure that raising the consequences does reduce crime. If a murderer spent 1 day in jail and then was free, I would bet there would be a lot more murders. Or better yet, you murder someone you pay a $100 fine vs life in prison. I remember getting yelled at during Mardi Gras for peeing on someone's bushes. Pretty sure they would have murdered me if the only penalty was a $100 fine.

I'm not sure if you can see yahoo comments when archived, but let me say they're full of people celebrating this; wishing worse for this terrible man. I don't get it. They can't be real. Why should someone pay 1.5 billion for saying mean things or fake things or even evil things? Why would people celebrate that even if they dislike him? This whole thing just seems incredibly fake.
