When I go to my front page there is mostly politics; I'm subbed into some related subs but still I don't want the front page to consist of most of their posts, despite being subscribed. Reddit needs to do something to piss off lots of non-political people I guess, that would be the moment to seize.

Sometimes people don't look for endless debates, there are even separate debate subs for that where all those disagreeing people can go. Point is that the site should allow the subs do what they want, be impartial platform for any kind of sub to exist.

Idg why ppl can't just be open. Why even bother to make a statement like "I would never sleep with a trans man"? Unless you've met every trans man on Earth you just simply cannot know what you would do. Let future you have a little space to make his own decisions!

It's the naming of an entire group as a singular entity that makes it come off as transphobic. All trans ppl want to hear is "I haven't met a trans person that I was attracted to yet, but I wouldn't rule out the possibility." Bc no matter how impossible you feel it might be, it's still possible.

you've never had anyone argue your personal freedom needs to be taken away. Maybe someday we'll get radical feminists arguing that males should all be kept in cages because they're too violent to move around freely, and only taken out for mating purposes

Have you watched Rick and Morty? It has a pretty neat episode about a planet ruled by women where males are even more aggressive than human males and are kept separated from women - they are given fuck dolls to harvest their sperm and that's their only purpose.

As just as such a turn of events would have been, it's obvious from replies to your comments that males don't expect anything like that to ever happen to them - precisely because they have the physical strength and aggresiveness to defend themselves. That's why they are not shy to impose that tyrany on women - might makes right, after all.

I think the nature played a cruel joke with human species. Our greater intelligence more often than not means not greater compassion, but rather greater ability to rationalize cruelty, which they do. Case in point - Islam made art out of rationalizing why women should be enslaved and treated worse than animals. If only our species was one of those where females are bigger in size and strength... Then the world would have had a shot at being just. Somehow I don't thing those stronger females would have kept males enslaved - most women are too good for such an action.

PS I think I saw you mention /r/blackpillfeminism in one of your comments. I've been a fellow subscriber too. I've only discovered it recently and was sad to watch it go. That sub helped me to accept the unfortunate truths of this world and wasn't violent at all - after all, violence and anger is the refuge of those who can't accept the world as it is and still think it can be changed.

Is misogyny really that horrible in Russia? It seems like it's actually worse in US. More religion, more conservative areas. Women in Russia were among the first in the world to gain voting rights, rights to work, they participated in WW2 both in front lines and at home in factories. It's in the language too - 'mankind' is the usual word to refer to humanity in English, while in Russian - человечество - doesn't highlight only half of humanity, while leaving the other out. Same with other words, like manhours etc. Take famous quotes and speeches - in english it's more often than not about a 'man' while russian translation is 'human' (the first that comes to mind is the Man on the Arena speech). Not to mention the whole Russian stereotype of a woman that'd 'enter the burning house and would stop a horse mid-stride'. And there's a huge nostalgy in US about the 50s to the point it has become a meme, there's no such alternative in Russia - in the 50s Russian women worked, USSR provided childcare and such which resulted in more equal participation in workforce - without any need from women to protest. And there's huge shaming of single mothers in US, while in Russia I think it's generally a compassionate feeling towards them and the blame is put on the father who's not there.

So really I don't think there is as much misogyny in Russia. Maybe some surface level stuff? But it's more deep rooted in US culture, in my opinion.

Poland - perhaps, though. Especially with their current gov and recent laws.

There's only so many spots on the top. Not every smart person can get in. Not everyone even wants to get in. It goes with sacrifices and even then success is no guarantee.

I don't really feel encaged. Today's world is the most free the world has ever been and I feel lucky to have been born in this time, as opposed to being born into peasantry in the Middle ages. That'd be the cage, not the pretty comfortable lifestyle of 21st century. There are always opportunities. No one is really forced to work jobs they don't like, live where they don't like. Unless they put themselves into a position in which they lose the choice, but that's on them.

If intelligence doesn't translate into some form of success then there is no proof that intelligence is even present.

Tell it to any artist/scientist whose contributions have only been acknowledged by society centuries later. And as if the proof is even needed? Why would anyone need to prove anything to others? Success is an external concept, a judgement of your person by other people. And that thing is pretty fickle. You can be revered by society, but not feel like you've accomplished anything. Or feel unhappy. imo only one's own opinion should matter, chasing approval of other people all your life is a fool's game.

Not to say that resources, money are not important of course. But it all comes down to compromise. Someone with an average salary working the job they like and having fulfilling hobbies can easily be happier than a rich investment banker working 150 hours a week, doing things they don't even like to big detriment to their health. Who'd be the real slave in that situation?

a poor shitty painter in rags and a rich powerful strongman who can destroy said painter by snapping his fingers who do you think sane people will consider superior

idk imo in humans intelligence /reason is the marker of ultimate superiority. That's what distinguishes us from animals, after all. Between the artist and a rich powerful brute who was sheltered all his life and only knows how to beat those weaker/poorer than him, I'd pick the artist. Chances also are that brute, having always been in a more privileged position, has a weak core inside him, having never known what it's like to be on the receiving end of brutality.

So imo superiority in the end is a function of intelligence and empathy. A psychopathic genius is inferior to someone less brilliant, but more empathetic; a brute with no brains is inferior to everyone, no matter their position in society.

If Donald Trump were a 14 year old child who merely witnessed the atrocities, of course. In my mind collaborators are people who actively help, not the victims who were forced to observe. Inaction is not a crime in a situation when you would get killed for trying to help. You could say that maybe he enjoyed the misery of other Jews or something like that, but those would be speculations, not facts. For all I know he was forced to claim false identity and did what he could to avoid being discovered.

I watched it and all I saw was him admitting that he accompanied his Nazi fake adopted father on his Jewish property take away missions. He was 14. In the video he said that he didn't feel guilty because it wasn't his fault and the property would have been taken away regardless whether he'd be there or not. It's not like he's wrong for thinking that way? You could say he should have tried to play a hero, to save all those other Jews, but most people were not heroes back then and were just trying to survive themselves. The smiling was creepy, I agree, but whatever the reason for the smile, he wasn't the one who killed people back then and he was a kid trying to survive, not a collaborator (at least such is my impression from that video).

It's a fetish to them - some people enjoy being tied up and beaten by a whip; doesn't mean there'd be many volunteers to be born as slaves in ancient Egypt. Besides (if you buy into the whole dysphoria leftspeak) a dysphoria is considered a mental health problem, which is not exactly a recipe for sound decision making. And 'transitioning' would only take one so far. Men in dresses are still male - with the physical strength that comes with it as well as ability to go back being considered a man by society - should shit really hit the fan. Less FtM to me indicates that women are less likely to be unhinged enough to destroy their bodies in a doomed attempt to change their biological sex; not to mention do they rarely have perverted sexual fetishes that would urge them to abandon all reason.

It's pretty courageous of you to go to debate on this sub. But imo it's not possible for women to debate with alt-right/conservative men, because one side would never be arguing in good faith. You see, beneath all their big words about Society, Law, Order lies one simple truth - they want women chained for no other reason than to feel better about themselves (the type of people who need to bring others down to feel tall, vs getting higher through their own achievements) and to have easier access to sex (sex, that's what it's always all about for men) - which can't get any easier when women are kept 'barefoot and pregnant'. That's their ultimate utopia and they would find ways to justify it. They argue in bad faith, because they already have the end result in mind and it's about rationalizing why that end result is good vs finding the best solution through debate.

Which would you rather have for the future generation - childhoods where their mothers and them are beaten but can't leave because of a lack of financial resources, or mothers with the freedom to stay or leave at their discretion

That's the thing - for all their screams about the children, about the fetuses, about the Fatherless Young MenTM (funny how it's always about the young men), they don't actually care about any of that - they only pretend to because it's another argument that helps to justify their authoritarian utopia world.

For a woman's offspring to survive in nature, she has to avoid getting into any sort of conflicts, not just in the sense of not harming herself physically, but also because pregnancy is a dangerous time and she will need support from others. Women can't afford to settle things with open conflict like men, so appeasement and using language is all women have.

I would be careful with this whole evolutionary biology thing. Women and men are not different species and we are more the same than we are different. Evolution wouldn't go out of its way to create different brains if merely enhancing aggression via testosterone in men would have sufficed. It's hard to make any claims about women's propensity or lack of thereof to engage in conflicts because of the ever present socialization women have to go through. When society puts you down for the slightest hint of aggression it's no wonder you would be forced to develop other means through which to channel aggression. When it's OK for boys to get into fist fights, for girls it's blasphemy. Assertiveness in women is considered bitchiness, while it's congratulated in men. And when it comes to adults - is it any surprise that the physically weaker sex would try to solve conflicts with words vs fists - after all, they know they won't win the fist fight. It looks like a logical response to me, not related to one's sex - men would have had the same attitude when faced with physically stronger opponents.

This comment is spot on.

whether or not you were capable of doing anything other than being the means through which REAL human beings can pass on their genes

And this especially. They often consider women a different species, merely a vessel for making male heirs that won't share their mother's genes - which is funny since actually sons inherit the most important traits (intelligence) from a mother, since it's her X chromosome that they get. But it makes for a good trolling material - you can pretend to agree with them and can say that "yes, since it's only men who pass their genes and women are merely a means for it, then I'd rather not have children, since there's nothing in it for me", and watch them getting all triggered.

Maybe it's hard to understand from the perspective of a demographic that hasn't spent all of history fighting to have any sort of basic rights at all in literally every society to have ever existed

The weight that all women grew up with. The knowledge of how low your position can fall in society and the ever present fear - whether acknowledged or not. I wonder sometimes what it's like to never have to experience it, to always feel safe in the knowledge that whatever changes society might go through in the future you would never be the target and on the receiving end of brutality.
