It's because hookup culture has gotten people confused. Enjoying sex with strangers has been pushed by the media as being the norm, so women who don't like hookups wonder if they are demisexual. Demisexuality is normal female sexuality.

Absolutely. I'm a detransitioner and compulsory heterosexuality is one of the things that caused me to transition FtM.
