Exactly. Most people take people at their word and if they see say Blaire White as a woman, then they will treat her like one. But the aren't going to believe that she was always a woman or that she has a female body. Same with any trans person that is actally living as a man or woman. I don't believe for a second though that anyone actually thinks men get pregant or that there are genders like nonbinary or genderfluid but they don't want to appear mean so they don't say anything.

I peaked one of my close friends. I didn't really mean too, we were talking about Ellen Page and she thought it was ridiculous that everyone was acting like she was a guy all of a sudden, when before she was very outspoken about being a lesbian and a feminist. This person is not any kind of feminist really, nor is she super conservative: but she too thought it was stupid that Elllen Page went from being a woman to a man and overnight everyone just agreed.

IK went from being very pro trans to a trans medicalist to still being a trans medicalist--but leaning more and more GC. I hate how trans activists are hijacking medicine and getting people fired for simply stating wiomen are the ones that get pregnant. How JK Rowling and others are being treated is also a huge factor in becoming more GC.

I do think that Blaire White, Laverine Cox, Natalie Wyn, Lyn Conway; as well as Buck Angel and Kalvin Gararrah live their lives as women and men. Howeever, they are all male and female. It is impossible to change sex; and literally the only reason they are able to live as women and men is medicine.

What is gender nonconformity to you? by Houseplant in GCdebatesQT

[–]questioningtw 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

For women gender nonconformity seems to be being assertive, brave, have intersts in things over people, not liking make up or dresses, having a goofy sense of humor; and for men I would say being nurturing, taking care of their appearance, being a people pleaser and caring about people over things. IK think in modern society though we are becoming less strict, and most people woulld probably not truely see someone as gender nonconforming unless they went out of their way to defy stereotypes.

[–]questioningtw 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Count me in as another he had no right being in the Olympics competing with women. He made the whole event about himself, and took away from the actual women who were competing. I was so glad that the winners said no comment when asked about him. I am tired of men being allowed to have their sports, while women are expected to deal with both women that want to play women's sports; but want to be non women. And with TIMS demanding the right to play with women, instead of men.

I have noticed this too. I don't like GC people that act like literally all lesbian transwomen are perverted fetishists, even if they seem normal. Itis one thing to call out people like Yaviv or Karen White, but acting like all of them are like that is wrong. Usually the more gender non conforming ones are rightfully concerned about how society tries to push this idea that feminine means woman or masculine means man.

Edited to add: if biology don't real then why do most trans people actually feel the need to transition? There are people that get addicted to drugs like Adderall and Concerta because they say have ADHD by self diagnosis and get the doctors to give them meds they have no business having. I am going to go into work tomorrow and announce that I am transitiong and you are to now call me James. Not only that you have to pretend like Jacalyn never existed and that I have been a man this whole time. Somehow I don't think I would get the Ellen Page treatment=P I wish the wokesters would see this. The only reason people like the Warshoskis, Ellen Page and Bruce Jenner get the treatment they do is because they are famous.

Because this is something I am loathe to say conservatives have a point on: the facts don't care about your feelings( They are totaly hypocrites on this, but I am going to ignore that for this) This over political correctness crap isn't about making people's lives better, it is about narcissism; and being obsessed with your feelings is a type of that. Ellen Page has a right to transition, but she has no right to force everyone to refer her as he and making eveyone immediately refer to her as Eliot. She has no right trying to make everyone forget that she once came out as a lesbian. She also has no right forcing the Umbrella Acadamy writers into making Vanya into a man. Bruce Jenner should have refused the woman of the year award.

I feel it isn't a coincidence either. I am also more fine with Eliot Page transitioning because she(because as of right now she is still a she) is an adult. It is not hate speech to say that teenagers are too young to give consent.

I have been seeing lots of trans people say Juno is about a pregnant trans boy and Kitty Pryde is now trans! Or her characters in Whiplash and Inception are trans! They also yell at lesbians and other gnc women that are disappointed and say wee are being disrespectful, when the reality is they are just happy that another woman is saying she is trans.

I do wonder about that. I think this is why it rubbed me the wrong way too. If she were to be like, hey I know you know me as Ellen, but please accept that I am Elliot, I think it wouldn't have been so offputting. Instead it was almost like how dare you see me as a woman, even though you have known me all along as a woman! It is honestly creepy how everyone is not seeing how weird this is.

I am fine with trans men and women in public positions. What bothered me about the whole Eliot Page thing was how it wad handled. Eliot Page was Ellen Page for a long time in the public eye and is still technically a woman. How can you even say your are a man, when you haven't even tried living as one yet? I also hated how everyone immediately switched pronouns and names; and it honestly reminded me of why I low key hate celebrities. No one else would be able to do that. The reason they got that treatment is because of their fame, not because people genuinely see them as a man.

I agree that saying the Balkan Sworn Virgins are trans ids beyond offensive. And I also agree that there are way, way too many girls coming out as trans; actual transdgenderism is very rare. But, they do exist.

They need to read the book. Reading it sort of made me realize why I get deeply annoyed with QT philosophy where gender is just some sort of game or personality type. This person literally couldn't live as a woman. And it wasn't because of gender stereotypes or anything(most of his friends where actually women even), he just really saw himself as a man and didn't understand why. It was a good book, but really depressing.

I actually read the book "All He Wanted" by Aphrodite Jones; and there is no way he was was woman. He wasn't even like Buck Angel who lived as a lesbian for a while, he seemed to have extreme gender dysphoria. What was so depressing was in the book, he was actually diagnosed with GID and was supposed to have more therapy so he could get HRT, but for whatever reason decided to take off.

I am fairly GC and even I think Brendan Teena identified as a man and wanted to live as one. Unlike someone like James Barry who had every reason to disguise their sex because women weren't supposed to be doctors; there was literally no reason for him to live as a man like that. If you read the book the movie was based on, he was in complete denial that he was even female and would lie to everyone and tell them he had an intesexed condition when they got suspicious.

I agree...the way she came out was really weird too, it felt like she was guilting people to basically accept her as a man who was always a man, when that is bullshit. She has been a female actor forever, and has been an out lesbian for a long time. Before yesterday her name WAS Ellen Page, Wikipedia rewriting her bio is frankly creepy. I am sorry, but I will never ever be one of those people that thinks just saying you are a man or woman makes you one. I also hate the deadname stuff....your past you was still the past you.

This! This is what bugs me. And also why this "you are so stunning and brave" sound so fake. So all these years saying she was a lesbian and playing women characters was a lie then? Why are you coming out with this NOW, when you already have a role as a woman on a tv show? I feel bad for saying this, but right now I don't see her as a man at all.

I was really, really disappointed when Page announced that and was kind of ashamed of myself for it. I was so happy to see a woman that actually wore no make up and was fairly unfeminine in movies. Plus, the whole I am a guy now, see me as that despite seeing me as a woman for years really annoyed me. I think I am just really tired of femininity in general....or at least this femininity that the media promotes.

Back when I was more of a libfem, I felt more bullied into accepting transwomen as women and I don't know, lately I have been getting more and more bothered by it. I am also tired of traswomen being hyperfeminine and ornamental, while of course transmen get to be people. It is extremely sexist to act like sex and gender are completely different.

Back in the day you had to actually live as a mazn or a woman for like 6 months. This is actually sane. Now the minute you say you are a man or a woman, you are one! Who cares if she has literally been a woman for 33 years. She is a dude now because she says so. I don't know why ?I am so upset about this.
