Hey! You did NOT ruin your life. You have value and you're an imperfect human just like everyone else. Breathe. I know a lot of the rhetoric involving detransitioners here and elsewhere can use harmful words like "ruin" or "mutilate" and such but I want to reassure you that while it's jarring having your entire worldview flipped upside down, you're (I assume) young, and it's okay to feel disappointed/scared/unsure. Growing up as a woman is not easy and can be very painful. Don't chastise yourself for being misled.

I wish. They're both very liberal-leaning state schools in a blue state (which is great) but the admins for our departments are very much on the "everyone share your pronouns in workshops and have them listed in email signatures" type of bandwagon. At my school, "misgendering" a student is enough to trigger a Title IX investigation. It is insanity.

It really depends. In my situation, both the bf and I held the same student worker position at our respective universities and both of us would have been fired on the spot for expressing these views publicly, or at least pulled aside. I wish I was joking. He hasn't graduated yet and relies on this position to attend school, so he's struggling with it right now.

I get where you're coming from, but in his case (since we both are pretty far on the left anyway) he's been hesitant to fully embrace this since he doesn't feel it's his place to weigh in/doesn't want to dominate the conversation (since's he's straight and white). Both of us are crypto GC at this point.

Mix and matching loud prints isn't gender non-conforming? You can wear a nice dress without acting like a desperate incel. None of these men are even legitimately ugly, but they come off as extremely deranged and self-absorbed.
