If I were a decade younger that might've been me. As a teenager, I used to say half jokingly that I was a gay dude trapped in a woman's body (cringe) and I liked shipping male anime characters (I tried getting into yaoi manga but I thought they were mostly poorly written and badly drawn lol). I felt very inadequate because I wasn't feminine enough, I was awkwardly tall and flat-chested and didn't menstruate until I was nearly 15. Boys my age were mostly jerks so I was very conflicted because I was straight, but I ~wasn't like the other girls~. I was scared of growing up and I didn't really have any healthy references of straight relationships... To sum it up, I was basically afraid of being mistreated by men, so I thought gay relationships were better because men were equal to each other. I obviously grew out of it but I actually feel sorry for young weeaboo TIFS... They're using gender identity as an escape mechanism because growing up as a woman is really fucking hard.

I'm fine with using pronouns as a courtesy, but I absolutely refuse to use any pronouns other than he/him when talking about TIMs who are sexual offenders.

I actually find it kind of funny that the "trans women are not beautiful, valid, etc." post is literally the meanest thing I've seen on this sub so far, and it was heavily criticized by many of us. It's just so little compared to what they do. But yeah, I agree with you, and I wouldn't be surprised if posts like that are being made by TRA's trying to make us look bad.

Yes, I agree with you that it should only be done as the last resort... But if it does come to that, it's useful to know beforehand how to do so more effectively.

I know that TRAs have made it hard to look at trans people the same way we used to but I think we need to be careful not to assume stuff beforehand. GC feminism is about breaking free from gender chains, which also means accepting GNC men who want to live their lives in peace. There are trans people who acknowledge their sex and who don't want to undermine women's rights and yeah I know that they're def not the majority but I still believe we should give people the benefit of the doubt lol. Is your teacher a raging mysogynist? Has your teacher expressed views you're uncomfortable with? Or done anything to make you uncomfortable after coming out as trans?

While I agree that we perhaps should begin encouraging women to learn how to fight back in case the worst happens, I don't think it's unreasonable to refuse to have a male stranger come into your house when you're a woman who lives alone. "Did anyone think it likely that the guy installing her medical equipment was going to rape her?" Yeah, have you met men? Lol. The chances might be slim but it does happen. I've heard about it happening in my country with male internet techs, Uber/Lyft... Men will often jump at the chance to abuse a woman in a vulnerable position.
