It's so stupid. Taking a book out of a grade school library does not make something a "banned book". Mein Kampf isn't a banned book. Gender Queer isn't a banned book. The Pedophile’s Guide to Love and Pleasure is a banned book, one of very few in the united states, as far as I'm aware.

Well that opens another can of worms, doesn't it? Why exactly do we need consent to fuck an animal but not to kill and eat it? (If you're vegan, you're clearly morally superior and can disregard this point /s) But for the most part I'm willing to just roll with this seemingly irrational standard. If sex requires a higher level of scrutiny than death for some reason, fine, I think it's still pretty easy for someone inclined to have sex with animals to beat the complete lack of consent we ask for in the meat industry.

All animals will attempt to avoid being killed, if they realize that's what you're up to, but may or may not avoid sex (or even seek it!) so compared to animal-eaters, I think any zoophile who's willing to put in a modest level of effort making sure their animal-partners are willing, can sleep easy.

Honestly, what does consent even mean? Especially in this context. Does a dog have "proper understanding" when it mates with another dog? All that matters to me is whether the animal is willing. This is extremely easy to tell when the human is the receptive partner, but I admit it's a little tricky to discern if the animal is the one being penetrated. Even then "not trying to get away" is all the consent male animals typically ask for, so if a sheep lets you fuck it without being restrained or anything, I don't really see a problem.

My thought as well. I get that a lot of people hate it, think it's gross etc, but just like the most realistic gore flick will never be comparable to a snuff film where real people die, it's pretty ridiculous to try and blur the line between fake and real child porn. Regardless of the quote by GHCQ, I'm uncertain if AI will displace real child porn to a significant degree, but if it did, I'd consider that a big win.

In so far as there's any justification for their position beyond blind moral outrage, the argument seems to be that looking at pretend child rape will turn you into a child rapist, or at least make you wanna see the real stuff next. Kind of like the old feminist line: "porn is the theory, rape is the practice". A lot of people have tried to prove this really happens over the years, and they consistently fail. Personally I think the alternative idea that it could be a helpful "relief value" for people with dark impulses has some validity. Neither theory is really proven, but so far the evidence seems to point to the first idea being either wrong, or overshadowed by the second effect.

I see. Well some of those are a little more questionable. Both of the first two quotes I saw were just about not invalidating people who had "intergenerational sex" as he calls it, and don't feel abused. That much at least I can agree with. For the rest I'd have to do more research to say if I agree with any specific positions, but I do wish it wasn't so taboo to even discuss such things.

The Guardian article seems fairly reasonable. He suggests maybe it should be 14 (which is the same as some other European countries) and that a close-in-age exception is needed. Is it all based on pedo agenda? Maybe, but I'd rather see it rebutted on his actual statements' merits (or lack there of).

An attack of opportunity. Obviously children are vulnerable, both mentally and physically, so if someone's looking for an easy target a lot of times a child fills the bill. Or take incest, who's the most readily available victim possible? Someone who lives with you.

Well it's a bit complicated. All NOMAPs are MAPs, and most MAPs are non-offending, buy that could be just because they don't look good in stripes (old joke, I guess I should say orange nowadays) or for other more nuanced reasons than trite assertions about consent. So I guess they wouldn't fit your definition of NOMAP, despite fitting the literal one.

As you say, pedophilia is not illegal (I don't think the "in most countries" qualifier is even needed here), but it's also important to note that a large amount child sexual abuse (perhaps even the majority) is not motivated by pedophilia, but obviously remains illegal regardless.

When it comes to communities, it's true that NOMAPs (as you define them) have their own, but ironically they seem more secretive than the regular MAP communities so I've never really bothered to try and check them out. My opinion is that they're probably miserable and not fun to be around.

Finally, all pedophiles (but not necessarily all MAPs) are LGBTQ+, regardless of what corporate LGBTQ+ community tells you. Anyone who says it's not queer to be sexually attracted to little kids has some screws loose.

Good for him. It would be kind of hypocritical not to defend MAPs when he married one. (This is the guy who seduced his high school teacher, in case anyone forgot.)
