These 14 American Cities Have A ‘Target’ Of Banning Meat, Dairy, And Private Vehicles By 2030 by penelopepnortney in WayOfTheBern

How long has mankind had meat and dairy as part of its diet and at what point did obesity become a national problem? (RFK Jr. links childhood disabilities, including obesity, to the expanded vaccine schedules introduced in the 70s and 80s) What has been the impact on American diets, not to mention American agriculture, of adding corn syrup to everything, or promoting junk food by making EBT use permissible at McDonald's, or officially promoting the fraudulent Food Pyramid?

Factory farming is indisputably a major problem for all the reasons you mention, so let's address THAT instead of demanding that people give up a food source that has been part of their diet for generations. There are plenty of people who DO raise healthy crops in a way that doesn't cause devastating impacts to the environment, and there are plenty who raise beef cattle the way it was done from time immemorial, including a cousin of mine. The difference is that these small operators just want to engage in their chosen occupation on a scale they and their family members can manage, they're not trying to corner markets or take over the food production of the world so they can dictate who can eat and limit it to their Frankenstein version of what nature intended.

When they start targeting the greedmeisters who are actually responsible for the problems you talk about, I'll listen. Until then, they can pound sand.

I was just reading a piece from Paul Craig Roberts about why the US military can't meet its recruitment goals and it boils down to hetero white men who have been the traditional backbone of the military being told that they're privileged, racist, sexist, transphobic, etc., that they won't get promoted because there's too many white officers already - I remember reading that idiotic statement from some Pentagon official not long ago. Gosh, wonder why they aren't queuing up in droves!! SMH.

Who’s Behind “BAN RFK Jr”? by penelopepnortney in WayOfTheBern

Over the weekend, Democrats across the country received a text message “begging” them to sign a petition to “BAN Robert F. Kennedy from the ballot.” Signed “PTP,” the hyperlink leads recipients to the website for the Progressive Turnout Project, where a survey asks a series of politically-charged questions.

Grassroots campaigns like this are not new. However, the attempt to prevent the American people from having the choice to vote for their preferred candidate is. This continues an unprecedented string of attacks on Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and the First Amendment itself.

The group behind the campaign is the Progressive Turnout Project, a political action committee (PAC) that has been described as “the largest voter contact organization in the country.” It has a series of sub-organizations operating under different names, two of which are also engaged in the BAN RFK petition: Stop Republicans and Progressive Takeover.

Using the most recent publicly-available data from OpenSecrets, we discovered that the single largest donation to the PTP came from Dustin Moskovitz.

Moskovitz is most famous for co-founding Facebook alongside Mark Zuckerberg in 2004. Facebook is a co-defendant in a lawsuit brought by Kennedy’s Children’s Health Defense and other plaintiffs censored by the platform in collusion with the Biden administration.

Moskovitz also co-founded a project management application called Asana in 2008. Between these two massively profitable companies, Moskovitz generated so much wealth that he was identified by Forbes in 2011 as the world’s youngest self-made billionaire, even beating out Zuckerberg.

That's Orwellian af.

“They brought in a whole panel of individuals, someone from the LGBT Center, someone from the psychological services and a bunch of people from the athletic department,” she continued.

“The governing body of swimming called FINA, they actually put in a rule that said, if you don’t transition before the age of 12, you are not allowed to compete internationally...the NCAA hasn’t changed any of its policies regarding transgender individuals. It’s about a year of testosterone blockers and hormone replacement therapy, and then you’re good to go to compete on the women’s team.”

Recall, back in April 2023, former U of Kentucky swimmer Riley Gaines was assaulted by a pro-trans crowd at a speech at San Francisco State University after speaking up about having to compete against (and share a locker room with) biological males.

I think African nations have reached the point where they can no longer tolerate even the presence of their former colonizers, witness what happened in Mali, and their confidence in asserting their independence is increasing with the rise of BRICS and similar global collaborations.

I do not begrudge an adult for pursuing this life changing path

Nor do I but I do reserve the right to say fck that when any group insists that their rights trump yours, which is what we're seeing. As in most cases, it's mainly a few loudmouths but like you pointed out, their voices are amplified and that mindset is imposed by the corporate, academic and media institutions. They don't care that it divides people around these issues instead of unifying and will only stop when their bottom line seriously suffers.

The author of this blog post hyperlinked to NATO Expansion: What Gorbachev Heard, an archive of the declassified documents that "show security assurances against NATO expansion to Soviet leaders from Baker, Bush, Genscher, Kohl, Gates, Mitterrand, Thatcher, Hurd, Major, and Woerner."

In addition to the documents, the site has a lengthy summary of the people involved, what was agreed to and when. What is abundantly clear is that Western leaders acknowledged that the only reasonable way forward was to build a new security architecture that protected everyone's security interests, something they've expressly refused to do as recently as December 2021.

Some people characterize the pandemic and the policies it generated as iatrogenic genocide, and they may be right but if so it's stealth genocide. We're seeing it openly and in living color in Palestine and I don't see how we can ignore that without utterly failing in our moral obligations. Remember the famous post-Holocaust pledge, "Never again." Well, "again" is here, what are we going to do about it this time?
