[–]penelopekitty 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Quite sure. Gender dysphoria is a new term and a social contagion. Sex dysphoria is a real but extremely rare mental illness. In either case treating these issues with hormones or plastic surgery doesn't change one's sex. Men have always been dangerous to women and should never be allowed in our spaces no matter how they identify or to what degree they modify their bodies.

I once had a more lenient view but after engaging with TRAs and "listening to trans people" I've come to the conclusion that there can be no exceptions.

Yes, yes you do. There is no objective physical medical basis for diagnosing someone as trans. All diagnoses are psychological in nature and based in transgender ideology. If this ideology did not exist a person with this condition would simply be someone who may feel discomfort with some aspect of their body and may or may not prefer stereotypical trait associated with the opposite sex. This in no way means that they are actually of the opposite sex in any meaningful way.

This is what GC (ie. Second Wave) feminists have been doing since at least 1965. Hence the name 'gender critical.' We are critical of socially enforced gender roles and stereotypes. We don't care if someone is gender nonconforming in fact we embrace it. The basis of actual feminism (not libfem nonsense) is that women's oppression is rooted in our biology.

This is what caused my peak trans. Prior to that I thought transwomen were our allies. I was very upset about Trump being elected and initially the Women's March seemed like an amazing event where women were coming together to fight sexism and highlight the need for women's reproductive rights. The entire movement lost it's teeth and credibility when they bent over backwards to be 'intersectional.' People were upset that a white woman came up with the initial idea, so they brought in Linda Sarsour who was actively anti-semitic. They started using the image of women in hijab as somehow feminist. Then Tamika Mallory was brought onboard, a woman who spoke in glowing terms about Elijah Mohammed and the Nation of Islam - hardly a woman friendly organization.

Then transwomen started complaining about the pussy hats, because 'not all women have vaginas' and 'not all vaginas are pink.' You dumb ass fuckwits. The hats weren't supposed to look like vaginas they were fucking cat ears. It was a play on words. It was at this point that I began to see just how idiotic and incoherent mainstream feminism had become. I realize there had been a schizm between actual feminism (radfem) and this new ideology (libfems.) The nonsense around the Women's March made us look like idiots and gave detractors of feminism more ammunition to use against us.

If I sound angry it's because I am. I am over 50 years old and can't believe how far backwards mainstream feminism has gone. I've been fighting for women's rights all of my life and it's been in vain. I'm fucking furious, but also exhausted. I give up.

Transgender is a relatively new term. Not too long ago we used the term transsexual and it was very clear that meant someone with severe psychological distress desperate to go through with full sex reassignment surgery.

IMO the switch to transgender was intentional and somewhat nefarious. I have never seen women and feminists under attack like this before, and I'm not young. I believe there are bigger forces at work. I don't think it's a conspiracy but I do think there are many people who benefit from this new ideology financially and otherwise.

This is going to be interesting. I don't know how many TIFs are in the prison system, but I seriously doubt they would want to be incarcerated in the men's estate. It would be very unsafe for them. This law would de facto place them in men's prison's especially if they are legally considered men.

If they are to apply the law fairly and uniformly and place people according to their stated gender identity this is what will happen.

If we start to see both TIFs and TIMs in women's prison's what you effectively end up with is men's prisons and mixed sex prisons. The law is a disaster in the making.

You are not alone. I'm right there with you. I think we might be about the same age and followed a similar trajectory. It can take younger women a while to come around but there are more and more of us every day, both online and in real life. I met a 36 year old the other day who is just about there. It's not as uncommon as you think.

The movement, well funded by people like TW Jennifer Pritzker and TW Martine Rothblatt, among others, are pushing this ideology in Universities. It is also being pushed in political parties. The end result will be changing the definition of woman in the law. Once that happens women will de facto lose their right to politically organize for sex based rights because they will no longer exist as a political category. Only gender based rights will be considered valid. It's happening now in the US with the Equality Act, has already happened in Canada with bill C-16 and they've only hit the pause button in the UK on GRA reform.

Why do so many women deny the existence of misogyny? by RedditHatesLesbians in GenderCritical

If you look into the history of feminism it's clear what the overall intent was. Today's feminism has been corrupted, people are ignorant of what the history was, and women who identify with men instead of thinking for themselves accept the smear campaign without question.

Just because a woman calls herself a feminist doesn't mean she is. Her actions are the determining factor. If people actually understood that the aim of feminism was to liberate women from patriarchy we wouldn't have so many divisions and so much ignorance around the subject.

It is a fact. The male way of being in the world is to conquer, dominate and consume. This is how they have always viewed natural resources and other human beings. Slavery has been around forever as has viewing women as property. This is parasitic behavior. Anything that creates life or the means for life is claimed by men and used by men.

In less patriarchal societies and groups there seems to be more emphasis on conservation and care of resources.

Sadly, these behaviors are so ingrained by our societies that no other model for human existence is even considered.

I might be considered one of those women. Educated, not poor (not wealthy either) and childfree by choice. In fact the reason I am childfree is because I saw what it meant to be a mother and wanted no part of it. I am and always have been a radical feminist. I became aware of the trans issues only when they started to infringe on women's rights and I've been fighting against that ever since.

Study on The Psychology of Gender Critical Feminism by GenderCriticalStudy in GenderCritical

[–]penelopekitty 13 insightful - 1 fun13 insightful - 0 fun14 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

How bizarre, what psychology? Gender critical feminism, which is essentially radical feminism, is a movement that states that women's oppression is rooted in our actual or perceived reproductive capacity (biology.) The tool used to oppress women is gender. Gendered stereotypes, specifically those deemed feminine, are treated as inferior to masculine stereotypes.

Being critical of the socially constructed idea of gender (not sex,) pre-dates the explosion in numbers of trans people by decades. All radical feminists would describe themselves as accepting and encouraging of people defying gendered norms. In fact, many GC feminists are gender non-conforming themselves/

We do recognize that it is impossible to change sex and that a man can never become a woman. Furthermore, we recognize that we cannot "identify" out of our oppression by calling ourselves men or adopting masculine gender stereotypes and that it is highly offensive for our oppressor (men) to think they can identify into an oppressed class of people (women) and claim spaces and rights we fought very hard for and only recently won as their own.

Whoever, developed this survey has no idea what they are talking about.

Being "nice" and "inclusive" and unwilling to speak the truth is what got you into this mess in the first place - it's not going to get you out. You don't owe this person anything. They add nothing to the relationship and they are not a woman or a lesbian. They are a very disturbed heterosexual man.

Block and delete and move n with your life. I also suggest you learn how to enforce boundaries and stop buying into the libfem bullshit. Lesbians don't like dick, by definition.
