I'm confused. There seemed to be a security guy that did fuck all, but for whatever reason, it looked like the shooter also tried to shoot him?

Why shoot a dude if he's doing nothing?

Anyone have the Instagram livestream crash video? by Super in WatchPeopleDie

This reminds me of this video on the propriety (or lack thereof) of mourning online.

The increasing influence social media (and the Internet, in general) has on our daily interactions has blurred 'Internet norms' and 'real life norms' to the point where the former has begun to supplant the latter.

For many people, the gut reaction to this snuff video would be that the older sister's professed love of the younger sibling whom she just accidentally killed is disingenuous, and her self-absorption is the motivating factor for her to keep recording. However, it could very well be that the older sister actually did love her younger sister, but a combination of shock and her obliviousness that the usually encouraged act of memorializing important events through video actually runs counter in this situation to social norms on dealing with the deceased could explain why she continued filming and acted the way she did.

In other words, her detachment from real life norms/attachment to Internet norms has gotten to the point where she cannot see how streaming her sister's corpse would be in poor taste and how her 'honorable' act of memorializing her sister's last moments through video can be seen as anything but.

This is something most of us here are guilty of. If you've ever snapped a photo of your food while dining out, ghosted a person you've been having an online chat with, said "OMG" in real life speech, answered a text while on a dinner date, or called a complete stranger in an online game an asshole, you've allowed Internet norms to supplant social norms. Granted, compared to this situation, all those are much milder cases.

Critics might say that streaming a relative's dying moments would never be acceptable but keep in mind that centuries ago, anything short of a funerary ceremony lasting months and involving the slaughter of a few herds of cows would be an insult to the memory of the deceased.

She still shouldn't have shaken her sister like that though.

[–]oozinator1 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

It's a roll-up garage door. The best way to picture it is like this:

  1. Imagine a roll of toilet paper (with the hanging end close to you and not behind the roll) that has a very long hanging end.
  2. Draw a stick figure dude near the top of the roll. This is the kid.
  3. Roll back up the toilet paper roll, so that the hanging end becomes shorter.
  4. Keep track of the stick figure dude. You'll see that he gets rolled up into the roll.

The people are speaking Thai, so it likely happened in Thailand.

If you guys are wondering what they're saying, they're mostly yelling to get water and also yelling out a relative's name. When the bear starts dragging the guy, someone yells to the guy to get away quickly, but it becomes clear that the guy is out of it. Follow-up remarks are about the obvious: "It's taking him away". As the bear enters the cage, the cameraman (at least I think it's the cameraman) says something to the effect of "there's no hope now" or "it's too late/useless now".

Unfortunately, my Thai is not good enough to understand what the guy in orange at the end is wailing out, but I would guess it's something like "How/why is this happening?!"
