I think this is a case of not enough information. It was prior to when things got really bad. It wouldn’t have been widely understood how contagious the disease is.

You could even say this is one of the very few occasions the media wasn’t trying to incite fear.

I’m not discounting what you’re saying as untrue. In particular the “sickcare” part. I will say that it does work for some people, myself being one of those people, and it can’t be completely disregarded. However, like you said, I feel to a degree that it is by design a way to oppress.
