Regarding the blue and pink flags for gay men and lesbians, I'm of the mind that we should unequivocally reject these flags and remove them altogether. Honestly, they belong in the same category as the progress pride flag. We really need to be more aware of how every aspect of gay culture has been modified within the past few years to align with gender ideology. It's not just the corruption of our history and the language we use to describe ourselves. It applies to our symbols as well.

When people start telling you that gay men and lesbians are now represented by blue and pink gender-coded flags that originated on tumblr, that didn’t exist ten years ago, and that have no historical significance, you should be skeptical. Is it coincidence that both these flags have a white stripe in the middle just like the trans flag? No it is not. Please ditch these flags.

I have a theory that it goes all the way back to Stonewall. No, Stonewall was not the start of the Gay Rights movement, but it may have been the point where we were assimilated into the larger Counterculture movement.

The same movement that spawned identities such as beatnik, hippie, freak, punk, goth, and emo reinvented itself in the 2010s as queer. If you think about it, even the rainbow flag is more of a counterculture symbol, having been used previously as both an antiwar peace symbol and in the Civil Rights movement's Rainbow Coalition.

Once gay marriage became legalized in western countries, gay people fell out of favor with the counterculture movement. Counterculture has since moved on to trans issues.

In the documentary "What Sex am I?" (1985), there is an interview with Clifford, a 35 year old gay man who came from a religious fundamentalist family.

"A gay man desperately running from his homosexuality. He tried to resolve his conflict by becoming a woman"

Unlike actual men and women, transmen and transwomen like to refer to themselves as "boys" and "girls" respectively. My guess would be that this person is a trans-identified, possibly non-binary female. I picture her to be a straight woman who collects labels for herself. In this example, it seems like she's seeking permission to identify as both a lesbian and a gay man at the same time. In reality, she is neither.

I feel like these types of screenshots should be collected and sold as a puzzle book where you flip to the last page to see the answers.

Homosexuality is an observable reality. It doesn't require faith. We can observe homosexuality as a pattern of exclusively choosing same-sex sexual partners. It occurs in other animal species besides humans. Arousal to same-sex stimuli can also be observed.

The only observable thing about transgenderism would be gender dysphoria. We can say that there are people who experience psychological distress or discomfort about their sex and that they wish to become or be seen as the opposite sex.

Gender identity, however, is not an observable reality and neither is the belief that TWAW or TMAM. No scientific test exists that can identify a "female brain" trapped in a male body. Claiming that a male can identify as female is pure ideology and there is no analogous concept within the gay rights movement.

I think the immutability argument is still important. I certainly don't want to be subjected to conversion therapy just because people think conversion is possible. I also don't want homosexuality to be misunderstood as a choice because people assign moral values to choices. It should be understood for what it is - an innate immutable quality that causes no harm.

I don't know to what extent pedophilia is innate or immutable, but the fact that it causes harm is what sets it apart from sexual orientation. It is a paraphilia, not a sexual orientation. Pedo activists and homophobes alike are both motivated to blur the lines between sexual orientation and paraphilia, even though the difference is obvious.

I think when you depict homosexuality as a choice, you invite the homosexuality = bigotry argument. Why can't lesbians simply choose to like dick? Choices can be influenced by bigotry. Even if all that matters is whether harm is caused or not, we now have a debate over whether homosexuality is inherently harmful (i.e. the TRA argument of how same-sex attraction is bigotry)

It's difficult to make sense of how trans people describe their sexuality, because they've redefined everything in terms of gender and also sometimes in terms of a split attraction model (romantic + sexual orientation nonsense). When they apply terms like gay or bisexual, it doesn't mean what we think it means. They refer to their actual sexual orientation as "genital preference".

With that in mind, I think I understand the phenomenon of how heterosexual men start identifying as bisexual after transitioning into transwomen. Their sexuality never actually changes. Make no mistake, they are still straight men. But they are straight men who try to live a life defined by female stereotypes. One of those stereotypes is that women should show sexual interest in men. Their female identities are validated when they are seen as sexual objects by other straight men. Adopting a bisexual identity and showing a reciprocal interest in men allows them to achieve that validation. They aren't actually bisexuals, but rather pseudobisexuals whose homosexuality is just another performative addition to their female costume.

The accepted narrative is that the "slippery slope" is a phantom created by the homophobic religious right who allege that the acceptance of homosexuality will inevitably lead to the normalization of other behaviors such as bestiality, necrophilia, and pedophilia. Since this is a homophobic argument, anyone who even acknowledges or suggests that the slippery slope could be real is immediately perceived to align with the religious right. This is the source of the backlash against LGBA. They are addressing the slippery slope.

The problem is that gender studies academics, with every nonsense jargon-laden paper they publish, continually push the boundaries of their "queer" umbrella and effectively turn the slippery slope argument into a reality. The paper in question "LGBTQ ... Z" was written by a gender studies professor at Duke University. In the paper, author Kathy Rudy confesses her love of animals and invokes her queer theorist mentor, Eve Sedwick, to try to justify her inclusion of bestiality and zoophilia as queer.

The slippery slope does exist. It's represented by the meaningless label "queer" which now includes straight people with kinks. The slippery slope is also represented by the (+) symbol along with the dozens of new identity labels and flags. The slippery slope is enabled by people who validate everything, preach about inclusion, "acceptance without exception", and denounce any form of gatekeeping or exclusion.

We should have the ability to distinguish healthy sexualities like homosexuality and bisexuality from paraphilias and kinks. But to do that we have to acknowledge that the slippery slope is not just a phantom cooked up by conservative homophobes. Why is LGBA being criticized rather than the person who wrote the homophobic paper? This wasn't some random anonymous Twitter user; this was a Duke professor. And the paper was published in 2012 by Hypatia and then republished in 2020 by Cambridge University Press. No criticism for the quality standards of the editors of those publications? If the threat of bestiality/zoophilia/pedophilia is so outlandish, how do these topics get so far in academia with so little backlash?

I think it's an example of how there are two main coping mechanisms of dealing with shame.

One way of dealing with shame is to stay quiet about it, keep your head down and hope that no one notices, and if anyone asks - deny, deny, deny. This is the closeted way of dealing with shame.

The second way is to own your shame. In situations where you cannot plausibly deny your shame, you have no choice but to embrace it. Rather than allow yourself to be judged and ridiculed by others, you will beat the bullies to the punch by making the joke yourself. If you control the joke, then they can only laugh with you, not at you.

When the shame we're talking about is internalized homophobia, we usually associate it with the first type of coping mechanism (i.e., the closet cases). But, I would argue that the obnoxious in-your-face gays that base their entire personality off of their sexuality are just as ashamed of their homosexuality as the closet cases. They just cope in a different way. It's as if they are in a constant struggle to try to justify their existence to the world, and so they overcompensate and turn themselves into homophobic stereotypes.

I think maybe 10 years ago we could poke fun at the idea that we had a secret agenda to indoctrinate children. It was a ludicrous accusation with no basis in reality. Things have changed significantly since then. Now we have major gay organizations supporting puberty blockers, drag queen story hour, Blue's Clues pride parade, drag kids, and teenage girls showing off their mastectomy scars on reddit.

We can't joke around about a sinister plot to convert straight kids anymore because now there's some truth to it. Straight kids actually are being indoctrinated into a weird gender religion that treats gay as a socially constructed lifestyle that anyone can self-id into.

I keep seeing this word "neurodivergent". I feel like in our rush to validate every single label that comes along we just end up validating psychological disorders. So, gender identity disorder is validated as trans, and treatable conditions like depression or an underactive thyroid are being mislabeled and validated as asexual orientation. We also validate nonsense romantic orientations like "hetero-romantic homosexual" which is, in my opinion, a euphemism for internalized homophobia. Now, personality disorders like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and narcissistic personality disorder are validated as "neurodivergent". And, of course, neurodivergent (special-brained) people are discriminated against because the problem is externalized - their distress derives from a prejudiced and bigoted society, never from within. Yes, society should be able to accommodate people with psychological disorders, but not to the extent that we de-pathologize their conditions entirely.

The article isn't entirely accurate. Biden didn't just do a rollback to Obama's interpretation of the Affordable Care Act. In Obama's Final Rule, gender identity was protected "on the basis of sex". But I think what most people don't realize is that LGB weren't protected against discrimination by this rule. "On the basis of sex" did not include sexual orientation. See graphic.

The medical condition, gender identity disorder, exists. People who have this condition, and treat it by living as the opposite sex, are transgender. I believe transgender people exist, but this doesn't require me to believe that gender identity exists. There's no contradiction here. Your sexual orientation also exclude pre-pubescent males (boys) from your dating pool as well. It's not just sex, it's gender. A man and a boy are literally different genders, and sex is not the deciding factor there.

This argument actually proves that sexual attraction is based on sex and not gender. Puberty is a hormonal growth phase that leads to the development of secondary sexual characteristics. These are biological changes that create dimorphic phenotypic sex, not gender identity.

This was not a random sampling of all transwomen. The infographic is misleading because data was collected through recruitment sampling after having met certain risk criteria. Homelessness and sex worker status are overrepresented here. Another thing to take note of is that about 95% of respondents did not engage in insertive vaginal sex, meaning these are not AGP transbians. These are mostly homosexual transwomen (i.e. gay males).

This has been my experience. A few years ago one of my friends showed me the Riley J Dennis video on genital preferences being transphobic and I said something to the effect of "that video was stupid". I thought that Riley was just some fringe crazy and nobody actually agreed with him. Then I sort of forgot about it until I downloaded the reddit app. I joined r/lgbt and corrected someone who referred to homosexuality as a genital preference. I believe I simply crossed out the words "genital preference" and wrote "sexual orientation". I was promptly banned.

So here I am a year later, having done my research, I completely reject gender ideology because it is incompatible with respecting myself as a gay person. It is also incompatible with feminism and the women's rights movement which is why T*RF is their slur of choice. But I wouldn't have found out if I hadn't gone on reddit and seen it for myself. You really have to go online to see it.

Here's the thing. "Born this way" is not a nuanced or comprehensive argument for why homosexuality should be accepted. It is simply a short and succinct way for us to say that our sexuality is natural, it was not a choice and we cannot change it. It's a fad. The reason the most dramatic increase happened in bisexual numbers is because bisexuality is the easiest sexuality for straight people to colonize. I personally witnessed this within my group of friends where 4/5 of the girls (all in heterosexual relationships) started identifying as bisexual, pansexual, asexual somewhere around 2012-2015 when the majority public opinion on gay rights in the US had shifted. One of the girls started identifying as a lesbian after her man dumped her. Now she's back to asexual. They like to get dressed up in the colors of their respective identity flags and treat pride like it's a cosplay convention. Of course, they love the word queer, they're "gay as f--k", and they hate conventional gays like Buttigieg because he's not queer enough. And if you like JK Rowling, "get f---ed because you're not part of the LGBTQ community". It's funny to watch them make the gay rights movement all about them and whine about their nonexistent oppression when just 10 years ago they were all jokingly calling each other "gay" and "f*g" as an insult.

The data is strange. 54% of Gen Z respondents say they are only attracted to the opposite sex while 76% of Gen Z say they are heterosexual. These numbers should be the same. For the Baby Boomers these same numbers are 81% and 89% respectively. Incidentally, there were only 3 lesbians and 25 gay men included in the poll.

Why is their solution never to create their own campground/bathhouse that is trans-inclusive? Why must they always hound and harass gay-owned businesses and try to destroy them for not catering to trans people? I agree. I already had the "referring to priests as father" example in mind. I think a non-religious person can choose whether or not they want to refer to a priest as father. If not, there's always the secular "Mister" option. As a gender "atheist" I don't think I should be forced to change my language to enable an ideology I don't hold. So no, I would not call a transwoman "she" out of courtesy. If I were to use pronouns for a transwoman, I think would default to the gender neutral "they/them" out of courtesy. That's my compromise at the moment, but I'm still debating it. Certainly, "he/him" is not incorrect.

Do you view Drag in a positive, negative, or neutral light?

Neutral. I know many GC people hate it and view it as woman-face, but I disagree. I think drag treats gender as the farce that it is. Men can wear dresses and makeup if their heart desires it, but the word "drag" acknowledges that they are still men. There's no rule against men performing in burlesque shows, unless we're to believe that burlesque and ballroom pageants are women-only activities. But then we're back to prescribing acceptable gendered behavior for each sex.

Who is Drag for?

I don't know if there are any official definitions, but I consider "drag" to be any person dressing up as the opposite sex for entertainment. To me, a "drag queen" is specifically a gay man in drag as a woman.

Children should not be performing drag. Yeah, children do perform in dance recitals, plays, etc, but I think drag performance is more for adults.

I approach gender ideology in the same way I approach religion. Religious beliefs can also be sexist and homophobic. And I don't agree with that, but I still believe in freedom of religion and that we should practice tolerance. So, even though I don't respect their beliefs, I can tolerate transwomen who say they want to "live as women" whatever that means. As long as they don't expect me or the law to pretend that TWAW, I'm glad to let them live their lives. Once their ideology starts affecting policy in a way that infringes on the rights of others, the gloves come off.

They actually did distinguish between transvestism and homosexuality. In the era before Nazi Germany, homosexuality was outlawed while transvestism was not. In fact, transvestite passports were issued since 1914, allowing people to live as the opposite sex. This continued until at least 1940. For example, in 1941, the Interior Ministry decided that a trans man could keep their name change

Transvestism wasn't specifically targeted in the way that male homosexuality was. Martin Damman found so many photos of cross-dressing Nazis that he published a book of them in 2018. Thanks for bringing this up again. Associating lesbians with pink and gay men with baby blue is gender coding. The motivation behind doing this is to align with the theme of the trans flag which also uses the pink/blue/white stripes.

I see this as just a part of a broader effort to dissociate gays and lesbians from their symbols. They have already colonized and misappropriated our words (gay, lesbian, queer). And now, the rainbow flag, a symbol of the gay rights movement since 1979, has been appropriated and grafitti'd over with a giant trans triangle. As a replacement, since the rainbow no longer stands for our movement, we are given these sad pink and blue gender-coded flags.

It's a leap of logic, yet I've cited papers where sexologists have admitted that eugenics and a desire to treat homosexuality motivated their pioneering of the sex-change operation. "Evidence-based best practice" really doesn't mean much when it's coming from a profession that has a long history of abusing LGB people.

I'd argue that our current understanding of transgender/transsexual identities has not really progressed much since Harry Benjamin wrote about it in the 60s. At least back then sexologists realized that homosexual trans and heterosexual trans represented two distinct groups - with homosexual trans people usually experiencing gender dysphoria in early adolescence and heterosexual trans people usually later in adulthood. There were even further subclassifications of trans identities in the literature (primary transsexualism, secondary transsexualism, transvestism, etc). All of this has been greatly simplified by the current narrative which is that gender dysphoria arises as a result of a mismatch between gender identity and birth sex; self-id is to be taken as truth; and the treatment is social transition and puberty blockers followed by hormone therapy.

Recalling the homophobic and eugenics-motivated origins of SRS does not simplify this narrative. It does the opposite. The current discussion surrounding gender transition (especially in children) makes no connection to the historic abuse of LGB at the hands of psychiatrists during the homophobic WW2 and Cold-War eras, in which gays and lesbians were subjected to surgical castration, chemical castration, lobotomies, sterilization, electroshock therapy, and other conversion therapies. But there is a connection.

Why should we be concerned?

you can see that the third info box in the Birth row, "Female external structures, male internal structures", has two long white arrows coming into and out of it that crisscross several other arrows and make the graphic look jumbled. Shifting this box a few places to the right would have made the diagram much less complicated. As it stands, the diagram looks like a tangled knot of flow chart arrows, but it could have been greatly simplified by just moving the boxes around.

And if you remove the intersex complexities (since transgender =/= intersex), the flowchart collapses to two arrows, the XX and XY paths.

Dating preferences are not x-phobia. You don't get to call people bigots just because they don't want to date you. That's TRA level nonsense. Online I've seen LG called biphobic for not dating bisexuals almost as often as we're called transphobic. That's why we constantly have to defend ourselves online with "I'm not transphobic, but", "I'm not biphobic, but". Rarely if ever do bisexuals get called out on their homophobia toward gay men and lesbians. Even though nearly 90% of bi relationships are not same-sex relationships, this bias is not called out as homophobia, but instead validated as heteromantic orientation. It's a double standard. Can we just stop with this "date me, you bigot" villification of LG? It's not cute when trans people do it. Why should it be ok when bi people do it?
