#MeToo to “Me Who?”: US media has turned off the sexual witch-hunt for the moment

It may well be that the immediate electoral concerns of the Democrats, once Weinstein was disposed of, loom large in this. The charges of sexual misconduct leveled by former staffer Tara Reade in March against Joe Biden, the presumptive Democratic Party presidential candidate, were received coldly by the Times and the media generally (except for its openly pro-Trump wing). Unquestionably, in that case the #MeToo campaign and its slogan of “believe women” cut across the plans and politics of the Times, the New Yorker, Time and the sections of the American ruling elite for whom they speak.

Reade’s claims have been treated with skepticism, as they may well deserve, and she has more or less disappeared from the headlines.

Alyssa Milano, Jessica Valenti and other #MeToo promoters have made clear that whether they believe Reade or not, that will not stand in the way of their supporting Biden. Valenti’s comments on Medium (“The Importance of Believing Women—Even When It’s Politically Inconvenient”) were remarkable for their sophistry and anti-democratic spirit.

[...]

Farrow too presumably belongs to this #MeToo/pro-Biden camp. His silence may in part be self-censorship: “Let’s keep everything under wraps until after November.” Or he may simply have been given the word to keep his mouth shut.

The Jeffrey Epstein case, with its far-reaching ramifications, has also created considerable nervousness. His “black book” includes the names of many prominent New York Democrats and entertainment figures in particular.

Is the Times concerned that one or more of its leading figures may show up in the headlines at some point? The #MeToo campaign may be proving too much of a minefield.

For the time being at least, the Times and the media generally have staked everything on race. The need to block the development of a unified, multi-racial movement of the working class is a life-and-death priority for the ruling elite and its media representatives. The Times and its allies are treating every issue that arises first and foremost as a racial question.

In any event, the dropping of the #MeToo campaign is a further indication of its manipulated and fraudulent character. Never a deeply popular effort, it can be switched off and on as the Times and the Democrats require. Hollywood, or some equally amenable and abundant sphere, can always be relied upon to cough up a scandal, more or less to order. The American media is associated with endless conspiracy against the rights and conditions of the population.

San Francisco reporter details 'disaster' of city's 'hotels for homeless' program: 'It is pandemonium'

"It's solving exactly nothing and as a matter of fact, it's making all the problems worse," said Sandberg, who described the scene inside the hotels as "about as bad as you can imagine, only exponentially worse."

"You are talking drug-fueled parties, overdoses, deaths, people are being assaulted. You have sexual assaults going on, it is pandemonium," she said. "It is extremely bad and it needs to stop."

Woman Brutalized for Refusing to Bow to Compelled Pronouns & Public Recognition of Transgender-Identifying Male

Alicia is still new to radical feminism, and had only recently begun to question the notion that anyone can actually change their biological sex. She says her concerns were only exacerbated when a former personal friend, Emanuel “Manny” Pabon, began trying to force Alicia to alter her language to suit his delusion that he be seen by her as an actual woman. Alicia refused.

According to Alicia, Demi Hart, Shani Monique, and Dyandra Harrison decided that they must defend the honor of Mr Pabon, who tried to initiate an actual brawl with Alicia over this dispute, saying, “All you do is make tweets sprinkled with transphobia.” Alicia says she refused to take part in a physical fight with him, and so Manny urged on the female allies to do his bidding.

After stalking her, the three women – all known personally to Alicia as former friends – hit her in the face, and her nostril ring was ripped out, she says. It was only due to the intervention of Alicia’s family members that more damage was not done to her body.

The incident was reported in a series of tweets by trans allies who demonstrated delight in the attack on Alicia. Unlike the more common reports of assaults on anyone who refuses to engage in the delusions of men who claim to be women, all parties in this particular incident are Black.

Syracuse puts prof who used 'Wuhan flu' in syllabus on leave

The announcement came on the same day that student-run social media accounts posted screenshots of a course syllabus that was reportedly distributed to students by Distinguished Professor of Chemistry Jon Zubieta. According to those accounts, Zubieta distributed the syllabi to students in his course titled, “Inorganic Chemistry." In the syllabus, Zubieta included a section titled "Special Notices Related to the COVID19 Pandemic" where he also referred to the virus as the “Wuhan Flu” and “Chinese Communist Party Virus."

In an email to students and an official announcement posted to the university's website on Tuesday, the university condemned the professor's “derogatory language” as “damaging” to the student learning environment and “offensive to Chinese, international and Asian-Americans everywhere who have experienced hate speech, rhetoric and actions since the pandemic began.”

Last I checked "Communist" wasn't a race.

Assistant literary agent fired after transgender activists complain that her alt Twitter account is “transphobic”

Sasha White, a former assistant agent at The Tobias Literary Agency, has been fired after some transgender activists complained about her alt Twitter account and claimed that it was “transphobic.”

White has two Twitter accounts – a main account, where she noted that she was employed by the Tobias Literary Agency, and an alt account, where her bio made no reference to her employer.

Her alt-account bio states that “gender non conformity is wonderful; denying biological sex not so,” notes that White supports “radical feminism,” and contains the hashtag “# istandwithJKRowling” – a hashtag that is used to support the author’s defense of the concept of biological sex.

Why why why does anyone mention where they work on Twitter? In 2020 it should be common knowledge that you don't do it unless you're begging for ultra-online weirdos to call up your boss and complain.

Facebook is developing room-scanning technology

Facebook says it is developing what appears like a fairly fine-grained way of monitoring sounds occurring in enclosed spaces – spaces that would also be mapped for any objects they contain. And Facebook is relying on artificial intelligence (AI) of one kind or another to achieve this, said a blog post announcing “AI Habitat.”

When I wished for Cyberpunk ahead of schedule this wasn't what I meant.

An alleged rapist killed his accuser after being released from jail over concerns he and his lawyers would contract coronavirus.

The incident in Karla Dominguez’s apartment last October was violent, and it was not consensual, she testified in Alexandria District Court in December. The man she accused was indicted on charges including rape, strangulation and abduction and jailed without bond in Alexandria.

Then the coronavirus pandemic hit. Ibrahim E. Bouaichi’s lawyers argued that the virus was a danger to both inmates and their attorneys, and that Bouaichi should be freed awaiting trial. On April 9, over the objections of an Alexandria prosecutor, Circuit Court Judge Nolan Dawkins released Bouaichi on $25,000 bond, with the condition that he only leave his Maryland home to meet with his lawyers or pretrial services officials.

On July 29, Alexandria police say, Bouaichi, 33, returned to Alexandria and shot and killed Dominguez outside her apartment in the city’s West End.

What are the odds she goes into the state's records as a "Coronavirus-related death"?

Turns out that one Swedish study on MGM and mental health was bullshit. The journal that published it has issued a correction making clear that getting some quack to chop a troon's cock off will not have any "advantage of surgery in relation to subsequent mood or anxiety disorder-related health care visits or prescriptions or hospitalizations following suicide attempts in that comparison".

This correction was issued after their statistical methodology was heavily criticized late last year.

AOC called statue of Catholic saint 'white supremacist culture'

Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wrote on Thursday that she considers a Catholic saint who treated people with leprosy in Hawaii to be an example of “patriarchy and white supremacist culture” and “colonialism.”

AOC made her remarks in a series of posts on her Instagram account and was widely lambasted by Catholics.

The statue in question is of Father Damien, a figure long revered by people in Hawaii for his selflessness and dedication to the leper colony that existed at the time on Molokai island. He dedicated his whole existence to caring for the residents of the colony, eventually also getting the disease and dying from it.

Father Damien built structures, held daily Mass, dug graves, and did whatever he could for the island and its inhabitants until he was too weak from the disease to continue. He was officially canonized by the Church a little while ago in 2009.

In an Instagram video, AOC said “This is what patriarchy and white supremacist culture looks like! It’s not radical or crazy to understand the influence white supremacist culture has historically had in our overall culture & how it impacts the present day” while training the camera on the statue of Father Damien.

Dems continue to be unable to see the irony of being hectored about "white supremacy" by a criollo with a conquistador's surname.

Patreon has lost their lawsuit against Owen Benjamin fans and will have to pay arbitration fees up front.

Last year, Owen Benjamin was kicked off of Patreon for violating their terms on “hate speech.” Benjamin then encouraged his fans to sue the site, given they had participated in, in legal terms, “tortious interference with a business relationship.”

Patreon’s terms included language that allowed any users of the plaltform to litigate their case individually under California’s JAMS arbitration scheme.

[...]

The formal judgement was revealed on Wednesday, with the ruling being solidly based on previous California legal findings. Patreon will now have to go through arbitration with each of the fans, and will not be able to recoup any of the fees, even if they win the individual cases.

This opens up Patreon to further suits from other creators and fans of creators who had been removed from the platform, such as Carl Benjamin, also known as Sargon of Akkad.

BLM Activist Says White Men Are ‘The Common Enemy’, ‘We Need to Get Rid of Them’

The speaker said that intersectionality “means recognising that there is one common enemy: the white man. The systems that they use are capitalism, patriarchy, and fascism. They were created and perpetuated by white men, for white men, in the interests of white men.”

He added that “once we realise that we are all fighting the same fight, it just strengthens the army. A problem shared is a problem halved. Imagine if we all realised and came together and grouped together?”

“All of these groups of people, the issues they face, it all comes from the same people: white men. So we need to get rid of them,” he said, going on to suggest that — sotto voce — people should “kill the rich”.

At least they've started being honest about their goals.

UConn Med. School May Shutter Honor Society Amid Diversity Feud Merit requirement keeps society too white, faculty say

Five members of the UConn faculty made the announcement in an email sent Friday and obtained by the Washington Free Beacon. According to the email, the board of the UConn chapter is temporarily suspending admissions as it considers whether or not to disband itself. The decision is backed, the letter says, by the school's dean.

"If we are going to directly address issues of social injustice, we should not continue biased practices while we make the overall decision on the future of the AΩA chapter," the letter says.

Leaders of many elite institutions now say that a merit-based admissions policy may lead to unacceptable racially unequal outcomes. The New York Times, for example, recently published an op-ed arguing for ending blind auditions in America's orchestras. Such moves indicate an overturning of decades of consensus that neutral meritocratic standards foster racial diversity and signal an institutional shift towards explicit racial quotas.

"Minorities are too stupid to qualify based on merit" sounds way more racist than selecting members on merit.

Boy, 16, was given estrogen for behavioral disorder while in L.A. juvenile hall, suit alleges

After taking approximately 13 daily doses of the hormone, the teen was diagnosed with gynecomastia, defined as the enlargement or swelling of breast tissue in males whose estrogen level is too high, medical records show.

ODD, a behavioral condition that is sometimes suffered by patients with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, is normally treated with therapy, said James McGough, a professor of clinical psychiatry at UCLA.

“Estrogen is not a treatment for ODD. I can’t be more emphatic about that,” McGough said. “You won’t find a reference anywhere that supports the use of estrogen for ODD.”

The lawsuit described the treatment as “experimental.” The doctor who prescribed the estrogen, Danny Wang, could not be reached for comment.

Los Angeles County’s juvenile detention facilities are overseen by the Probation Department. Medical needs are provided by Juvenile Court Health Services, which falls under the county Department of Health Services. In an e-mail, a Department of Health Services representative confirmed that Wang has been employed by the county since 2012 but declined to comment on his current status with the agency, describing it as a “confidential personnel matter.” The department declined to comment on the lawsuit.

If Alex Jones was wrong it was only because he didn't go far enough.
