Hitler was nothing like a socialist. It was the socialists that did most of the work to defeat him.
Regarding property rights, it can't be ignored that capitalist governments take people's land every day, while falsely claiming the resources (fossil fuels, water, and more) are needed for the greater good. The problem is not unique to socialism. There must be a balance between various public and private interests.
