Being anti-left isn't "free" any more than being anti-right is.

Because on reddit there were people that were mods of like 800 subreddits at once. No one can effectively moderate that many, and it's just a power grab

They're all about censoring political opinions, yet they let this stuff slide.
It's all about the money. They're getting paid by groups like Shareblue to remove certain types of political content. So they prioritize that. But removing these gross movies is a low priority because it doesn't really impact their bottom line (except in the long term, when it becomes a PR disaster, then they have to clean it up to avoid the loss of customers)

Ok well... maybe go light on the censorship because that's kind of the whole point of saidit.
And if you're going to make rules like that, make them equivalent across the board like "No editorialized titles" rather than "no antisemitism"

Truth is a matter of perspective... by Robin in frontpage

I'd say the truth is the 3d object and both the 2d projections, all taken together. There is a root truth that does not depend on perspective.
The problem is people think "Truth" is just one part of this whole, when it's really only one projection of a larger truth.

That's a good idea in theory, but in practice it just leads to echo chambers in my experience. And if the trolls ever get control of the majority of the list (like a 51% attack), which they would be motivated to do, then it's all over and the site is permanently ruined. So it's kind of a dangerous idea imo
I agree with your diagnosis of the problem 100%. I am not sure about the solutions though. Basically you're calling for a ban (or flagging) on certain ideological positions. So we'd have to build a library of ideological positions that have been identified as propaganda, and then have people mark posts and comments as those categories as they come up. In the end it sounds like a straight-jacket kind of environment that makes free discussion difficult. I think #2, 3, 6, and 8 would devolve in to this. Similar arrangements have been attempted on many subreddits on reddit, and they typically lead to an extreme echo-chamber environment. But perhaps I am wrong.
I most like #7, I think it'd be smart for users to have a site-wide "reputation" in some way that is displayed alongside their username at all times.
I also kind of like what /r/conspiracy did, where they require a 2-sentence "submission statement" that is a comment explaining why they posted their original post.
Like you said, an ideal solution would be self-managing and wouldn't require mods or admins to constantly watch it and have to flag things. A system like that seems to lead to power-hungry mods, which leads to corruption and then eventually the site falls apart.

One mod is not "saidit". Don't implicate saidit in your hissyfit against one mod. Act respectable if you want to be respected.

People just use a smaller variety of sites. And people stay with bad sites simply because that's where everyone else already is. Bad things remain popular simply because they're popular. People need to branch out more to make the internet "bigger". This is a problem of the users, but also a problem with how google prioritizes search results now as compared to 15 years ago
Climate change is a hoax, bro.
Climate change is a hoax, bro.
I mean it seems it might be exaggerated, and the source might not be humans, but the weather is really strange the last few years. The fact the climate has changed seems pretty undeniable. Even the OP article shows that, with "just 5 inches short of 30-year snowfall record"

Lol like senators will vote positively to limit their own terms...
I think it would be a good thing though. The 98% incumbent re-election rate is just stupid. So little actually changes every election cycle. It's no wonder we have things like the "deep state" when everything is so stagnant
