You got it! Also you can do both funny AND insightful, if it's both. That gives it the most points.

Just realize that the internet now has the most youngest people the internet has ever had. These youtubers you mention are famous in the 8-14 year old demographic. That's literally their audience, and how they got the views that gave them ad revenue. So much of the internet is being re-organized around the behavior of children, because they are easy to influence and a child's pageloadd looks just the same to the advertising agencies as any other internet traffic.

But I think we're seeing this trend peak, but it's still got some mileage left in it.

Then add on top of that all the propaganda, and special interest groups, and astroturfing... and you get the internet we see today.

But for us people who remember how the internet used to be 10 years ago or more... it leaves a sour taste.

That's part of why saidit exists. Trying to re-establish some maturity, logic, and sensibility in to internet culture again. Instead of letting it all get overwhelmed by literal childish nonsense.

No, Zionism is an ideology. Half of US Jews reject Zionism. https://mondoweiss.net/2012/09/the-true-crisis-of-zionism-silent-majority-of-us-jews-have-never-supported-it/

The idea Zionism is identical to Judaism is Zionist propaganda, which many Jews reject.

That was the size of the reddit team and how many years between when it was first written and when it became the open-source we used.

I guess it was more like 10 years, 2005 to 2015. But I think they had at least 15 people working in it, as they got $20 million dollars of venture capital in 2005, and it only went up from there. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reddit#History

A lot of pnemonia deaths were diagnosed as covid, which you can see in the corresponding humongous drop in pnemonia deaths as compared to every other year. So the overall number of deaths is not much different.

Maybe by the best systems in a perfect environment, but on an average system it's true a facemask is probably enough. Hell they can't even do it correctly without the masks in typical settings. https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2020/06/detroit-police-chief-admits-facial-recognition-is-wrong-96-of-the-time/

Why is it that the president is guarded by the Secret Service. They were founded to prevent counterfeiting. by Popper in conspiracy

[–]magnora7 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

I agree. The Secret Service was created to move money between the big banks.

So does that imply that the president is merely an asset of the big banks, being transported around? It certainly seems to.

[–]magnora7 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

The exact details like that are up to the discretion of the moderator. IP2 is a sub. Welcome to saidit

[–]magnora7 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Again, it's a relative thing. If someone is repeatedly dragging discussion down the pyramid of debate relative to the other comments in the sub, then they can be removed by the mods. So the sub rules are the same as the site rules.

Yes correct for the most part, and that's for example the whole reason IP2 is allowed to exist (but also why it's not allowed on /all)

[–]magnora7 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

This is one thing I've wanted to develop from the start, but it's hard. I'd love it if one post could be posted to like 10 subs, appear only once in the feed, and have a singular shared comment section. That'd be great, but it's like a 30 hour project at least. But if someone made it work with our code we would certainly integrate it in to the codebase!

The US system is actually very authoritarian. And the cancel culture is a feature of that system, not a bug. This cancel culture is just an extension of the existing US authoritarian power structure, which is one of the most massive in world history.

The real cultures rising up against these authoritarian systems are being censored more than ever. Just look at reddit.
