Anyways, I've never taken much issue with trans people, outside of the drag queen story hour bs, which has apparently evolved into bringing kids to drag shows. All that aside, there are countless cases of "trans women" that are just some fat neckbeard in a sundress. If you want me to be respectful, you need to show you're actually trying. I'm not saying you need to pass, ffs, you can at least not have a six+ month if you want me to even pretend to believe that you actually believe you're a woman.

Also, of the tiny handful of trans women I've interacted with, all of them acknowledged at some point, on their own without anyone bringing it up, that no, they're not actually women.

My favorite for a while was pointing out they have to acknowledge gender roles are a thing.

But it seems like they did. I don't even hear anyone deny it when discussing trans people. Now, bring up the concept of gender roles in any discussion outside of a trans issues, and prepare for all of the same people to call you sexist.

Old news, but I still don't know where I stand on this issue. I guess card only places could be used as a way to keep certain demographics out, but aren't there a million legal ways establishments do this anyway? From what I recall, it was a trendy looking coffee shop and sweetgreen that were doing it. Neither were places I expect homeless people to be choosing when they find money for coffee or a meal.

I'm in favor of affordable housing. I think in an ideal society, if you work 40 hours a week, you should be able to afford a living space without roommates and to feed yourself. But this seems like it would ensure there are no truly nice neighborhoods because a minimum of one in five residents will be impoverished.

Violence in Philadelphia has been rising for years. A lot of people seem dissatisfied with their elected DA, Larry Krasner, and his soft on crime approach. Better not reelect him for a second term. Oh wait..

I probably became a little more pro-small government, and a little more pro-life, but it's hard to tell how much of that was being pushed out of the left and opening my ears to what the right has to say, or just being and adult and getting some life experience under my belt.

But my values and principles are all exactly where they were when I was in college and considered myself very left wing.

Pretty much. I'm not a particular fan of most feminists, but if you are a feminist in that you're concerned with women's issues, you should be a TERF. Otherwise, you're not really a feminist, you're just part of the SJW cult and like the label feminist.

I was checking out SRD for the first time in forever today. Holy shit, that sub is hyper pozzed now. Mods have stickied all over that TERFs will be immediately banned. A top post is discussing and defending the lgbt sub for going private in SUPPORT of Aimmee Challenor and the sub is defending them. Also, why does a sub of less than a million subscribers need 30+ mods?

It's amazing just how little effort it takes for them to manipulate the masses. All they need to do is attach some phrase with a negative connotation, and now millions will automatically assume filibusters are some kind of racist tool.

I remember in 2013 it was this massive celebration on the left that Wendy Davis held an 11 hour filibuster to prevent a ban on abortions in Texas after 20 weeks (something that's generally a very reasonable stance even to pro choice people - that's more than half way through a typical pregnancy and more than 80% of the way to the point where a baby can be delivered with a more than two thirds survival rate).
