That's pretty good advice. If you can change you're neighbors opinion, you have made a difference. And you'll also be able to tell if the Brown shirts would round you up there, maybe it's time to move..

At The state and national level, the Republicans are to the left of Obama. The cabinet will be installed in November. The Republicans aren't much better at this point even if they had a shot in November.. The few Republicon legislators who wouldn't knife you in the back, Roberts and gorsuch have already made clear that what you vote for is irrelevant, and there is no legislator in office now who has even hinted they'd be willing to defy the courts, let alone canwe get them impeached.

Having a local or source repo is important.

A lot of people writing software now look at themselves as some arbiter of morality and truth.

A great example of this is Firefox.. Their recent manifesto reads something essentially like; "yeh we realize it's open source software, but we believe the purpose of our software is equally if not more important than the quality of code".

This leads to things like, well if you voted for Trump or are a Republican you're a Nazi and you shouldn't be able to use our software.

It's the same issue like guns. We know what's best for you, it's for your own good we are keeping you from these things, you're a bigot.

Flu Deaths Five Times Higher Than COVID Deaths by scrubking in politics

[–]jamesK_3rd 13 insightful - 2 fun13 insightful - 1 fun14 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Whatever it is, this isn't the question.

The question is do we shut down the world economy and our lives themselves over TB, the flu, herpes, hiv, or any of the other different types of virus and/or sars-coronavirus that exist.

Life is inherently risky. Retreating to your home to swipe right on grindr just changes to a different type of risk profile.

The government cannot eliminate risk from every facet of life for you no matter what they may tell you or how hard atheism requires you to believe that it can.

The median age of death for covid 19 is 78, ironically the average life expectancy for males in the USA is a similar number.

A majority of the believers in atheism might be ready for the govt to rule them as evidenced by the fact that some states have less than a hundred or two hundred deaths from (or while testing positive for) the virus and lockdown/facemask/goggles are in full effect and the masses are completely compliant.

This is a political question, not a scientific one. If it were scientific, we would've isolated those at the most risk months ago, instead of executing them while jailing everyone else.

Of course none of this matters, largely because it is political, and the outcomes are fairly set it would seem.

She's singling out religious groups and individuals, but she allows the now dominant religion, atheism and it's followers to worship and celebrate.

Any smart group would take them to court on the above grounds as she's had several news conferences where she stated that protests and parades were ok on 1st amendment grounds.

I don't think anyone argues the virus isn't real.

It's just that for 98% of people under 70, they'll be fine. 90% of people between 70 and 80 will be fine. And if you're over 80 or have another health condition like cancer, you should be very cautious.

A big survey about 3 months ago found that people under 40 generally believed that if they got the virus, death was imminent. This isn't true.. It wasn't true then, it wasn't true in march, it's not true now. But if you try to tell them that, they will rage against you. This is atheism at it's core and this woman is merely following it's scriptures and principles, virtuous scientism.

I think caution is warranted. But you don't quarantine the healthy.. You don't lock everyone up and tell them to wear a mask that doesn't do anything. In a real pandemic, you're not stocking up on toilet paper, they're using toilet paper for kindling for the mass graves.

If you think you do, it's because you are uneducated and don't understand the country you live in or its founding principles.

In the US, every persons has natural rights granted them from a deity. No govt can grant more rights than are already given.

What you want is govt control and the govt to grant you special rights at the expense of others. We might be there as a society, if not yet, we are very close.

But you should realize: 1- that you're a fool 2- what the govt gives, they can take away 3- your privilege in the govt lasts only as long as they allow your victim status

The stage was set for this long before 9-11. Primary example: the "hate crime".

If you kill someone heinously or premeditated, we already have and have had laws for that. The scope of this being, your just as dead if you're black or white and killed by someone carjacking you or murdering you for being "of color".

Attempting to assess motives is largely subjective. It leads to thought policing, which leads to ideas like "hate crimes", which in turn gives certain authorities the ability to apply extra punitive measures or adjudications based upon some ingroup/outgroup association factor. The best and most obvious examples of this today are race (black and brown), and religion(atheism, largely state/statism/political worship but other sects do exist).

People don't go to India and demand cleaner forms of energy for the population to control their CO2 output.

Nobody cares... Instead.. People get on their private jets and come to the US and lambast them for leaving the climate accords or driving personally owned vehicles even though the USA has been and continues to exceed the world in carbon reduction, accord or not.

These people don't care about the environment, CO2 emissions, or truth. It is a convenient means to an end. Western culture, in particular, the US, capitalism must be dismantled at all cost.

The truth is they've already won. It is just the next generation that will reap this, not this one. That's a tough pill to swallow for Zoey the millennial Marxist Democrat who wants it now.

Ah, public school teachers.. I take a more simplistic approach..

If you don't like: - summers off, - shitty union dues, - shitty yet stable pension for the rest of your life regardless of what happens in the market or that states budget, - freedom to indoctrinate teach your students whatever you want so long as it's at least mildly progressive - freedom from the fear of being fired from your job if you're bad at it and schmooze the right person.. transfer? Yes please.. - have all those precious little children.., in a good way like Catholic priests.., but without any of the consequences since you're on the right team - a shitty yet comprehensive medical plan that most other govt employees get, because you're worth it - the ability to infinitely complain about how you are terribly underpaid and undervalued yet like most public teachers you're pretty much marginal at best and considering the benefits and working hours, are truly living the good life

Yeh if they can't handle the above, I'd instruct them to get a better career. Or if they're really a teacher, they should try competing for careers at charter schools or private institutions where you get exactly what you deserve because most of the parents aren't just dropping their kids off for state run daycare and progressive conformity classes and they'll pay a teacher a worthy wage to ensure they can avoid all of the above.

But my guess is most of them are fine just complaining about things and gobbling up those state and federal bennies.

Ukraine is just a way of funneling money for the politicians.

The reality is, the USA is using Ukraine to mess with Russia. But the politicians are using Ukrainian ppl as pawns.

For Russia, the war in Ukraine isn't just la di da. It's serious, I think it started for them only as just a territorial war, but it escalated quickly when they saw USA and others pumping Ukraine with weapons and money. For them, it's really a situation they now can't afford to lose.

The truth of it is, the USA will continue to linger on, because of the power and printing press we have. But make no mistake, it's a paper tiger.

A majority of the people now believe you should do something against your will even if it doesn't work, like vac up/mask up if it is for the "common good".

Multiple generations have not only come to see it's normal, but come to expect that the govt should take whatever rights away in the name of health, safety, security or common good.

Food and energy shortages drive the people toward their savior, the govt. Regardless of if self imposed or not.

USA agencies are openly hostile to dissent from citizens. Individuals are still jailed in gulags, with thousands of hours of footage remaining hidden. Even the footage didn't help, as sometimes a "jury of peers" doesn't care about the evidence, as we saw the juror excited and giddy to swear testimony from Trump recently, let alone a whole lot of J6'rs.

Regardless of if China leaked the virus, it's pretty evident that it was a USA made bioweapon, from research and funding to implementation. Make no mistake, it's the red white and blue that murdered millions of ppl with it, albeit perhaps unintentionally.

Politicians go to their legislature and have to "do something". They might not do anything about secret FISA courts, but they'll damned sure add in new legislation that controls where you can hunt or fish, or the type of car you can own or what type of energy can be produced., Or the amount of internet providers that can exist withing certain zones.

Late stage Republic. Self sort. Learn how ppl used to survive. I think the USA will continue to linger on for many years in this state. But there will be few differences from the venezuelans a few years ago eating flamingos from zoos and ppl in USA cities unable to get a handout from the govt.

In 20 years, most kids now won't know or recall fidget spinners. In 20 years, most kids now will recall their school, their parents, their library taking about how empowering it is to cut your pecker off and rename yourself Sally.

Many of them may not become a Tranny, but the window is pushed and they will accept this as normal behavior and outcome. That gets passed off to their kids.

It will get worse until November. All the forces are in play to remove orange man bad and install "the cabinet" in November.

But look at it this way, once the cabinet is installed, the news will suddenly discover the recently done and peer reviewed studies which show that over 10-15 % of the populations from NC, PA, and CA have antibodies to the Rona, and what's more sewage studies from late last year and early this year show Rona been here for a while.

Once the installation happens, the news will suddenly discover that we've been testing so much more (since it's a requirement to test for anything if you want to reopen) and while cases have been rising, the fatality rate has been falling fast.

We will have finally flattened the curve, and we can all go about our business, move along.. Well, except for certain groups like religious groups or gun manufacturers and gun organizations, which will inherently require more regulation and oversight to prevent the spread of future viruses.

And yes even though hospitalization rates are rising, that's because people are going back to the doctor for things they put off for the last few months, go in for your heart condition and test positive for Rona, well that's technically a Rona hospitalization, but it's important to separate that data now.

At this point, I'm on board with the cabinet just to so i don't have to listen to the orange eunuch prostrate himself to Fauci/Birx who change their opinion depending on which way the wind blows.

The obvious answer to this is to make things more local.

But, ironically enough, more and more people want the govt to do more and more things for them, while complaining that the govt gets in their way or is intrusive.

There's a reason that over 90% incumbents get re-elected, but polls show over 70% of people being polled think govt officials are bad, headed in the wrong direction and needs change. They're happy with their guy, they're dissatisfied with yours..

We are at a moment culturally, where generationally, the things from traditional United States are no longer seen as necessary. The VP declared just a few days ago, the internet is a basic human right. I'm not sure if that is malfeasance or ignorance, but the outcome is the same. A younger generation doesn't know the difference between a man and a woman, or what a fundamental Human right is.

Further, younger generations have no belief in a creator, and as such their rights are now defined by the state. 2+ years in, and people are still begging their local govts to return some freedom to not have to jail their face, or their children's faces. A trucker convoy in Canada has done more to propel freedom here in the USA than anything done by just about anyone else in the last few years.. In Canada, a place where they aren't free.. a place where it's literally as I stated above.. which is, the govt is the definer of freedom there(not taking anything away from my Canadian friends here).

Honestly, most of the Republicans just seem to enable the Democrats. They just passed a CR again, and there were only like 9 Republicans who signed that statement to not fund a govt that enforces vax mandates. They say there against mandates, while signing in legislation that entrenches it into law.

Honestly, I think only a convention of states has a real shot at slowing the bleeding down. But really, if the people no longer believe in the declaration of independence, then it doesn't really matter about anything else, it's time to shop for whatever system/style of Chinese capitalism you prefer. That's where we're headed

I think it's the point of delegitimizing GoFundMe.

Debit cards certainly have no way of getting the funds back, and another reason to avoid them in risky or online purchases.

CC chargebacks will show which of the card issuers side with the customer who is the consumer, as opposed to the customer is the merchant.

I'm gonna guess a lot of folks are gonna find out that their CC issuer doesn't agree with them either. This could help wake people up to understand that we need alternatives to the mainstream things

It's very scary actually.

A lot of red places like Idaho and Texas may not have the wild lawlessness of dem strongholds like NYC, Chicago or LA. But most of those red politicians are just as authoritarian and wicked as their dem counterparts. Controlled opposition at best..

In Idaho, the cops at the behest of govt officials, arrested parents who were outdoors at parks during the pandemic. In Texas, the obvious and famous example of the salon owner arrested and still fighting to get her life back to this day. In the midst of DeSantis laying waste to woke BS, a "red" politician bypasses woke, and attempts to put forth laws that would register bloggers in the state. It's all over, red and blue.

You have to be active at the local level. And I know people will scream when I say this, but try to choose politicians with a biblical worldview. The idea that rights come from God, not the govt is one of the founding and most important principles which limits govt. The govt can't save you, only God can. Most of them are full of shit, and power hungry.

Ultimately, I believe we are entering a technocratic dark age. Netflix and chill, yet we don't know what a woman is now do we ask questions as to why we have to wear masks even when it doesn't just save one life. And a lot of people are on board with this, maybe not endorsing it, but they don't want their Pornhubs or Netflix disturbed while the cops come round up their neighbors for something.

I used to think this way, BUT....

You can home school your child, you can teach your child to be skeptical, to be open, to look at the bigger picture. You can accurately teach them math, physics and social studies.

That's great and important, but the other 90% are coming out of these govt run daycare/indoctrination mills AKA public schools. They're dating your child, they're interacting with them and us.

That's unfortunately why we have to fight for them even if their parents won't or don't, to save the good kids.

Lastly, I wanted to comment specifically about "the data", "the statistics", or "the science". We are on over 400 days to flatten the curve. We knew from the cruise ships, just weeks into our discovery of the novel virus which groups it affected most, and the data was ignored. Now we vaccinate 10 year olds per CDC guidance.

Multiple studies show the usage of chloroquines, antibiotics and zinc, for previous sars infections and yet the same treatment was and is still demonized.. another study just came out that said this treatment improved the mortality rate over 200%.

Everything we've been sold the last year, from all the people we are supposed to trust has been a flat out lie. And I, living in virginia, have people in June of 2021 telling me I'm a bad person for walking my dog outdoors without a mask.

But it just isn't the covid. - the insurrection (although they were without guns) - the insurrection cost (45mil) is most expensive ever ( BLM riots cost over 50B in damages and claims) - BLM riots are mostly peaceful protests (as buildings burn) - planet destruction from straws (high school stories) - Cavanaugh rape hoax ( even if you can't recall if he was there 30 years ago, it's good enough) (orange man bad/OMB) - Russian collision ( while the family that should be looked into had ties to Russia) (OMB) - there is no wuhan lab

Those are just the highlights of the last few years. People accepted these "truths" regardless of what the data or the science said. And as we saw with covid, they can make the science say something else, like a peer review study that says the chloroquines are bad and remdesivir good.

The mental gymnastics you have to accomplish to think the massive progressive dogma groupthink on reddit and the extremely various, differing, and at times horrifying opinions here is amazing.

Conspiracy theorists at least think, and somewhat reason. You can even attempt to hold a conversation and there exists the possibility you can change their mind.

Redditors, a good 95% of them are generally stupid, literally. There are a few, between 5 and 10% who are smart and highly indoctrinated or agenda driven, and they generally give the masses their narrative and taking points.

It's the very reason, that unless you're chatting with one of the 5%ers, it's quite possible you will have more success relieving a headache by staring at The sun while dancing circus monkeys slap symbols by your ears.

The truth of it is, liars and cheats like conspiracy theorists are bad. But not even closeto being as dangerous to the Republic or to you as individuals as the stupid.
