I very much prefer that alone in a crowd feeling so while I don't care that I don't have anyone to hang out with, I really miss being able to take advantage of the fact that I live in a big city. Normally there's a ton of really cheap shows where you could see local bands, or even bigger ones that would play small venues for like 20$ a ticket. I miss being able to hop on the metro and just chill at the beach for a few hours. Or spend all day at the zoo drawing the animals. Or catch a free stand-up show where people are testing material. Or just hanging out downtown after dark soaking up that very specific energy that you can't get anywhere else.

Ooh I'll have to pick that up, sounds really useful. I'm an artist and flow state is really critical for me to actually get anything done.

It's most likely coming from younger people who weren't around on 4chan or ran across Stormfront back in the wild west days, so it's new and alarming to them.

Sitting in bed, eating cookies and binge watching the Game Grumps while the fireworks have been going off in every direction for hours. I'll watch them when I step outside to smoke. Couldn't be better.
