Trans women face potential women’s rugby ban over safety concerns by Echoofmiles in GenderCritical

"The Guardian can reveal that in a 38-page draft document produced by its transgender working group, it is acknowledged that there is likely to be “at least a 20-30% greater risk” of injury when a female player is tackled by someone who has gone through male puberty. The document also says the latest science shows that trans women retain “significant” physical advantages over biological women even after they take medication to lower their testosterone."

If only the olympics would stop pandering and admit they also have the science to ban transwomen from women's sports.

Edit: As expected transwomen are crying and whining because what about all the tall fat muscular women aren't they just as manly without the bone density, bone structure, cardiovascular structure/system of men and natural female advantages. According to that logic we'd also have to create a new class for men who are muscular, taller and larger? Doesn't make sense the fittest are supposed to be there, it still isn't fair to force women to play against men.

I hate it so much, I was and still am somewhat of a tomboy growing up we don't have many in pop culture. Women are not "cis" we did not sign up for the way society sees us. I know some claim it's too easy or bigoted to go "what about the children" but I am afraid of girls telling their parents they hate being a girl and their parents taking it a step further, it was one of the things I worried about back when I seen the trans community as no big deal years later here we are science denial, "cis", silencing, transplaining and all.

[–]inneedofspace 35 insightful - 1 fun35 insightful - 0 fun36 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I hate hearing this mostly because it's a lie, I'm not saying this to be rude it's a human feature not a manly one but facial hair and strong jawlined are more prevalent in white particularly ethnic white women than black that alone means it cannot be a "woc trait", so you know good try but no. Black people are less hairy in general due to the hot climate in africa; edit: he just decided to list off all the most "masculine traits" he could think of and attributed them to non-white women because in his mind white women obviously own femininity/womanhood. Other cultures have their own ideas of gender and sexuality this kinda reminds me off the idea that black people should be seen through the lens of white culture instead of a separate culture altogether. This is no different from the stereotype that all people of a race look alike, white women share traits with white men other women don't but we don't call blond hair masculine, it's only done to black women to describe our hair and our features, it's a very strange mix of sexism too where men define the entire race. I've also heard this crap about the olympics I mean maybe woc don't compete but the truth is people making these arguments are completely ignoring the fact that white women hold the titles for weight lifting sports (it's not a bad thing and it still doesn't make weight lifters men).

Transwomen like to use woc to boost their image because if black women did it, as masculine as black women are (according to white and racist culture starting in the 1600s) why can't men? There's been some arguments over whether or not black women experience transphobia to gather pawns for their side; black women's race specific oppression has a name it's mysogynoir and it exist because our bodies are black and female, not black and trans, not black male, don't ever accept that lie because the day you do you prove them right we are too "transwomen" and now we're in their arena where transphobia is the oppression and not sexism.

Do they really not understand how racist it is to call black women (the argument usually starts with black women and ends up with woc because strength in numbers), men do they know how long this shit has been going on or why it started? It's racism and it's the same racism that gets black men killed, "black bodies are scary".

I'm trying to find the specific tweets blaming terfs (too lazy to use imgur). To be fair there are (fewer) people calling guardian transphobic and blaming that for the lost.

I read the thread I'm wondering if this user is a troll but since you can't tell these days, I'll just say.. I've known for a while now that mras are backing trans rights because they are men's rights to female spaces, you think transwomen are ever going to call people like this out? It seems strange they spend most of their energy bullying women, a lot of tras are also mras and using oppressed men to push their narratives that women have all the privilege in society. Unless you grew up with a female body you can't understand why women will never feel completely comfortable undressing in front of any man. I remember a conservative transwoman on youtube patronized women who grew being afraid of men, said they didn't have that fear because they do have a penis, you know how other transwomen responded? With butt hurt comments because they were compared to men stated, they also have these new found fears as adults! no mention of the little girls/women who've lived with these issues for the majority of our lives.

You know I guess my biggest peak trans moment was realizing no matter how much transwomen id with womanhood or women they will always stand up for men because biologically they have to those are their rights. I know this may sound toxic but I'm starting to believe men can't be feminist (they can be allies), it seems hard if not impossible to stand up for women's rights if it may effect you or "demonize" a guy for something that mostly only men do.

They're full of it, you don't notice now because you're used to it but you can't stare at the ground for 10-15 minutes while changing I've tried, when you look around you will see a penis in fact, if I notice there might be a guy in the room (voice, extremely height and bulkiness, hairline typical male characteristics it only takes a glance to notice), I can assure you I'm not going to hold my head down and pretend, I'll probably just leave instead of inspecting them though even assuming it's a guy I don't feel comfortable with that. Most women are checking their surroundings at all times because we have too I'm not sure what these people were smoking.

As much as I do enjoy the idea of marriage it's obviously a trap for women, men risk loosing their money and some yes their children doesn't change the fact that women are more likely to fear for their lives and lives of their children when they get married. Men are much more likely to leave or cheat on their spouse if they're terminally ill. Women do all the housework plus go to work and I almost never hear women telling their husband "if you gain __ibs we're getting a divorce". In certain communities we EXPECT men to cheat and it's ok because men make mistakes.

It is harmful, not just for women but for them too, I wish people wouldn't dismiss autogynophilia all together. A lot of transwomen have said their partners end up transitioning themselves, which isn't that much different from cross dressing men who seek out cross dressers because they're cross dressers themselves, what researchers know is men who view transgender porn (and I'm guessing seek out trans partners and end up transitioning based on what I've heard) were studied they are autogynophiles?(-philiacs?). It's not really all people with gender dysphoria I worry about (though I still strongly disagree with the idea that we should get rid of female centric spaces which they're considered "cis" therefore "privileged female bodied" spaces), it's the "you don't need gender dysphoria to transition" people who are most likely fetishizers and they're doing themselves a disservice by not acknowledging that and exploring that part of themselves privately.

Doesn't bother me, sometimes favors are the only way to get black people (or women) into positions of power as long as they're qaulified for the position the only way this can even be a bad thing is if you believe no black person is ever qualified (not talking about you op, people in general). I just don't like the way Biden is pandering for the black vote, he's already said something like "you're not black if you don't vote for me" or "black people will vote for me" something like that, I hope Biden knows no one owes him a vote and anyways with the way Obama handled transgender rights I don't really trust him, democrats are not really good for any woman right now. So I don't know who I'm voting for this year wish republicans would pick better candidates I wish the people would realize there's more than two parties, I wish democrats would come back down to reality.

[–]inneedofspace 11 insightful - 1 fun11 insightful - 0 fun12 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Same reason they piggy back on the civil rights movements for black people, or worst compare themselves to the actual dehumanization of black women (specifically during slavery) or handmaidens, instead of standing on their own two feet they know that they have no real arguments, they're men trying to weed their way into women only spaces to validate themselves that's pretty much the only rights they're fighting for and it doesn't look good on paper, seriously I haven't seen 1 legitimate reason to support there cause you don't need female/women only spaces to feel human create your own spaces. Transwomen are the only group of people who've publicly said "I used to look at my naked sisters body without her knowledge" and received no backlash the only group of celebrities who went public about supporting child rapist into women's prison with or without their penis and still have their careers in tact, why would women any woman want this type of mindset in our spaces that's exactly what we've been trying to avoid.

I rarely see transmen demanding men accept them as men or they're denying their human rights narcissism is more common in men than women so not a big surprise, it's easy to bully women into doing what you want when was the last time you saw transwomen demanding we make prostate cancer gender neutral? Nope they rather women make space for prostate cancer when cervical cancer, ovarian cyst, and actual female issues continue to go ignored do they care they're taking up much needed space and resources? I doubt it because they can't handle they're not women so they force society to play along at all cost, the part that bothers me they acknowledge the inbalance between men's and women's health but pretend there's nothing that can be done about it because they are women. I wish popular feminist/humanist groups would at least make the clear distinction between "gender" and sex if they're going to keep forcing this on us.

I can't it's not just the video, it's the comments women too many women supporting nonsense and men who are most likely mras if you think sex is bullshit 1) You're privileged and 2) You've failed female trans gender people who refuse to use the word woman/girl to describe their experience with being a girl 2) you've failed all the girls and women in your life who rely on this language to protest their discrimination.

Instead of refuting this whole video I'll just say, I'm still waiting on the reveal of this third sex and will it make them happy to do away with sex when everyone's a zees and people are still treating zees with penises as men and zees with vaginas as walking incubators because we're all zees but why should you respect a small zee who bleeds and carries babies and marries, that's what happened centuries ago and it didn't remove the gendered body it reinforced it, man was gender neutral at least in english and it slowly came to mean men just men, shows you how sexist some societies can be later woman came along but is was synonymous with wife. This is still the case in some languages, who the hell started this "sex is non-binary" nonsense? Why are scientist agreeing with this?

I rarely hear about how it effects women, when I was dealing with a porn addiction which I know some people don't believe is real there were only 2 or 3 women talking about it and it's effects, I usually only here about how it makes men more violent or uncaring but rarely ever how porn itself affects women outside of "does my boyfriend still love me" post. Not trying to start an argument that's just been my experience especially compared to the conversation about men and their porn watching habits, pyschology today seems to have it covered google comes up with snippets but when you search for "porn effects on women" 4-11 year old articles pop up and a scientific study from 1999. Sites like feminist current seems to believe on men watch porn and women do porn and right now reddit is in a fury about blatant misogynist porn but not the fact that women are personally posting and participating there.

I'll edit my post though because that's not really my point and it's not the only thing I want people to see.

Pregnant people sounds so vague and so randomly assigned, all the work women have done for women's health to be replaced by "people". Seriously what's so wrong with "women and birthing people" or women and trans men? After all the vast majority about 99% of pregnant people are in fact women *who still call themselves women. Who's really pushing this pregnant people talk? I mean how exactly does it help your dysphoria to be referred to as your reproductive organs? I feel like this language allows society to ignore the elephant in the room but only time will tell if vague terms like "pregnant people" will lead to a new second class, my guess is yes it will, history has taught us that when women are just "people", men become default and women yes all "afabs" become their body, that is the history of the gender neutral word "men" and the second class human, incubator/maid/"wife". I wish everyone understood the importance of gender specific language for the female body, when all bodies are treated the same the female body in comparison always seems to deserve less and the only way to overcome this is to acknowledge not erase sex (and therefore the purposes of the female body in it's own right), it's upsetting that language is being taken away even sadder that women have no rights to name ourselves and our own oppression.

Intersex people suffer (medically, maybe not socially or personally but medically) from those conditions they may need hormones, may be infertile, may suffer from mental disorders, many need hrt or surgery during puberty, intersex is not a gender it's a chromosomal defect scientist have no evidence of a third sex because it doesn't exist. Not saying intersex people have to suffer some don't want kids (and some can have children) but the point is for anyone to not have that choice means they were born with a medical defect. Our biological goal sa with any species is to repopulate with that in mind we are a binary.

For me if I’m being honest it’s less a feminist issue and more of a stop trying to replace women I guess we had it coming when some people tried to replace sperm with bone marrow etc etc the battle of the sexes is really getting out of hand it feels like a rush to erase the other.

With that out of the way it is concerning knowing that the black market will exploit at risk girls and women for their uterus, it’s not just transwomen, men as a whole have been trying to implant uterus into the male body for a long time and I just hope I’m not alive to see it, women are the only people who are going to suffer from a move like this and yeah if transmen are willing to give up their uterus that’s their business but females are goi g to deal with the fallout men have no issues enslaving the female body to do things like this, I hate when men make decisions that affect us.

The way things are going this might be the only incentive for medicine to take a more in-depth look into the female body some days I really hate being a woman.

It's all unfolding on twitter the music editor of gaurdian who signed a petition to silence one of the women editors asked that people continue to support the news platform is now backtracking due to so many comments about his denial of biology.

Edit: Here's the a quote: "To the cis women who feel betrayed by the Guardian's coverage of trans issues: I'm genuinely saddened to have lost you as everyone working here wants to fight misogyny, sexism and patriarchal power/bullshit. (5/10)"

And another: "I signed the letter in the wake of Suzanne Moore's column because I thought she mis-characterised the fight for trans rights as denying women's rights. I respect debate and part of that is calling out something I don't agree with. She isn't silenced, nor would I want that."
