Reddit is currently putting in new algorithms designed to ghost users. They will post and see their posts. But the posts will never be seen sorting by r/new or any other sorting method. They are ghosting entire subreddits right now. The algorithm is live. by Orangutan in whatever

Reddit is really nothing more than a shell of what it used to be. All of the controversial subs were removed in the interest of "cleaning" up, but it's also one of the most easily accessible cringeworthy porn sites on the Internet. Even the things like tech subs are full of garbage that isn't useful. Still some great art stuff there, but that's about it.

Voat...I still have an account on Voat. (edit: but I don't do much there anymore. Who can, with the way the place works, broken 2 out of 3 times you try to access it.) A user put forth the idea that the current situation there is basically the admin saying there's something wrong, without saying it. Regardless, it's just to broken and suspect at this point to take seriously. With only registered users allowed, the flavor of the site has become more and more toxic since new users don't seem to be arriving anymore.

It seems that making the market work properly isn't a priority. Student Loans are a money machine for the lenders.

To be fair here, a lot of the names on the list are old-line retailers that still imagine they have a middle-class customer base (Macy's,) have been in trouble for a long, long time (Payless,Sears, GAP,) or have simply expanded far too quickly ("Dollar" stores.)

All it would have taken would have been an economy with a cold to push them off the edge. The current situation we have has booted them off instead.

Imagine that. It's almost like spending tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars to get an "education" doesn't really work like they said it does. Double for those studying things of little use in a good economy.

Family Dollar and Dollar General are basically just convenience stores that have a somewhat larger product line and charge even increments of a dollar for things. People think they're cheap because it's a "dollar" store.

In reality the products are cheap, but the prices aren't.

I think the only thing behind the curtain at Reddit is a pile of dog shit.

Even the tech subs are all but useless these days. Last time I tried to ask a question about something, it was all "Why are you using that, that's too old, do this instead!" Yeah fucker, I'll just tell my employer that the 100k worth of equipment needs to be replaced because some jackass on reddit went reeee.

I've always seen QQ and WeChat as "Things you use in China because that's what the Government allows you to use in China, and if you don't use them then you don't do things."

I didn't get banned, but I noticed that the quality of conversation slowly went downhill until it was all but useless, and that somewhat controversial (but not really that controversial) news topics just got censored out of existence. I closed my old account, but I keep one that I use for read-only, because reddit is still a decent resource for things like SBC technologies and whatnot.

I had participated in some topics over the years that were hot buttons for tards, and call me paranoid but I was also seeing some weird stuff on that account and it's associated Imgur account. Wiped them both. Just comments along the lines of "how'd you know that?"

edit: People were making comments on my profile that were, to me, how did you know that about me?

Apple knows who butters their bread. You won't get that sweet cheap almost-slave labor by offering things the Government doesn't like.

Wow I'm shocked. I see posts here that offend me and I want them and their subreddits banned!!! WHY IS THERE NO CENSORSHIP AND WHY ARE THE ALT-RIGHT ALLOWED TO EXPRESS THEIR OPINION? by deafbr0 in AskSaidIt

Reddit is kind of a sad thing. There are these little bright spots that flicker through, like some of the art subs, tech subs...it's a shame that they have to be covered with the shit that is the rest of the site.
