I find this sentiment from the Admin pretty concerning. Like he obviously thinks this revolution is so important everyone needs to suspend their normal posting and join in.

There are two things here you are confusing. The registrar, and the registry. The registry is the final arbiter of which domains are allowed to exist. The registrar is their subordinate. It's a company you go to when you want a domain. If they kick you out you can continue using the same domain if you find another registrar for it.

For the big tlds like .com, the registry is usually very permissive. It's the registrar (eg godaddy) causing the problem. But for niche tlds, it's more unknown how the registry will behave.

It's creepy as fuck to think that the messages you get from your friends are, while not propaganda itself, shaped by propagandistic forces. We saw this first with the feed algorithms, that would filter out friends wrongspeaking, and promote friends rightspeaking. People wisened up and moved to group chats. Now with these keyboards, even the group chats will be controlled.

And at the same time, because of quarantines, the last safe outlet we have - speaking to each other IRL, is being taken from us. Very dark times ahead.

Singapore is a very fascinating country. Ostensibly a democracy, but actually closer to a dictatorship. Their leader is probably the most intelligent of all the world leaders. Basically a philosopher king or enlightened despot. He studied Mathematics at Cambridge University (arguably top university for math in the world). And he studied at the Trinity college of Cambridge (they have a bunch and trinity is the most prestigious). And he became the "senior wrangler" which means he was top of his class.

I don't support their method of government, but I do enjoy watching it from afar as an interesting case study.
