Admin here. Thanks for the support! We're hosting with a smaller well known web host, are not dependent on any cloud services, and can easily relocate/rehost the site if need be.

Seconded. /u/magnora7 I think all we need for a canary is a "Warrant Canary" post on /s/SaidIt where we specify a last edited date, and a "Canary" link to it in the footer. Of course there's the hassle of updating it weekly or monthly or quarterly.

Here's some sample canaries:

Yeah wow this is pretty interesting. Maybe a list of known art and artifacts that were seized by customs and stored there could be established. I imagine they could have had some stuff seized 10 or 20 years prior. It's described as a vault.

Nice I was just about to post this one. So Reddit basically has the same censorship partnerships as Google and Facebook. This is the nail in their coffin, we'll see how long it takes to play out over at Digg2.

For starters, there's no downvote here so content can't be buried. And brigading/vote manipulation will not be allowed. Past that, we're open to ideas. Maybe we'll get strict about ips and rate limiting to prevent upvote bots. But this is an anonymous platform so I don't think there's a silver bullet.

Unrelated to vote manipulation, we have thought about a system where sub users can vote to kick out corrupted mods.

Way cool. For anyone else out of the loop:

As we speculated previously, Valve have now officially announced their new version of 'Steam Play' for Linux gaming using a modified distribution of Wine called Proton, which is available on GitHub. What does it do? In short: it allows you to play Windows games on Linux, directly through the Steam client as if they were a Linux game.

These sound pretty good. So it's about giving every sub a fair shake and not letting popular subs overwhelm hot and new and top, on /s/home * and /s/all and /s/subscribed ? For the time range, it could use the "links from" filtering, and you could pick "past 24 hours".

Nice! It looks like you didn't get much of a response about the backup part. I know I've seen a few github projects that were about "archiving reddit", so let me see what I can find.

Hey man this banout stuff has me worried that /r/conspiracy might get the axe sooner rather than later. Do you think it would be worthwhile to try to back it up? I know there's some great posts on there from the last decade that eveyone can learn from.

We could at least get the top 1000 posts from all time, and maybe more with keywords using reddit search. Maybe getting self posts only would help thin it out a bit.

Maybe there's something already out there. I don't know how much historical data ceddit and the like store.

Here's some better instructions. It's kind of broken right now, scores aren't displaying. What feature from RES do you want to use the most?

/u/magnora7 will you update this page? I made better install instructions, but the scores aren't showing with our voting model changes. It's probably a good few hours to figure out how to fix it.

President Elect Donald Trump Endorsement for Prime Minister Netanyahu - 2013 by JollyRunstride in conspiracy

The Rothschilds have had Trump in their pocket since 1990.

"Why did we make a deal with him?" one asked, according to Rosenberg's book. Ross insisted that Trump was worth saving. "The Trump name is still very much an asset," he said.
