Came out today. Sounds good, I like it better than the other new single. Maybe there's still hope and MM isn't done for. It's those goddamn Portland bars that all serve food, Isaac is too fat and happy.

The truth behind America’s most famous gay-hate murder, Matthew Shepard by d3rr in whatever

[–]d3rr[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

This might be an uncomfortable story but it looks very much like the murder of Matthew Shepard was not homophobic and was not a hate crime. One or both of the murderers was gay themselves and had had a relationship with Matt. Matt was also a crystal meth dealer and in a dark place and clearly had terrible friends.

I was in high school when this happened and it definitely had some kind of impact on me and I never once doubted that it was not a hate crime. Of course there are homophobic hate crimes, but not this one, not the biggest and most famous one.

Fucking media god damnit.

Tough one and I'm not really in the loop. I have heard positive privacy things about Switzerland a lot, but yeah it also seems to be the home of the uber-elite. Can you link or PM me to the hosting companies you are considering? It looks like DMCA policy might differ by company.

I have to come clean man. When I said "offshore" I didn't mean in international waters... I just meant outside of the US. The one I thought looked cool is in the Netherlands. I should have said something but it was like 3am so I flaked. My bad.

I think Sealand did used to offer hosting though. Also I think the only real advantage of not-in-US hosting for SaidIt is to escape DMCA notices.

What if all of the privacy respecters got together to get a NIC manufactured? I wonder if a one million dollar Kickstarter would be enough. Maybe intellectual property and copyrights are involved, I don't know.

I know I'd pay double or triple for ethical hardware.

Which part? Our content is only affected by our pyramid policy.

The general trend seems to be that once you roll ads, you have to keep your site cleaner such that companies don't refuse to advertise with you. You get a taste of the milk and can't stop drinking.

Maybe the kids have never really seen capitalism at work because everything is so manipulated by corporatists and crony capitalism. They grew up post-US-manufacturing.
