I think this can also work in reverse... people who believe in conspiracy theories are more likely to become religious. Atheists and agnostics are exposed to evidence of a vast luciferian conspiracy which may make them reconsider religious concepts/positions which they had previously dismissed as antiquated or not relevant to "modern" life.
